Well boy did I luck out when the very first Vet I called to establish service with was Rockland Holistic. Dr. Winikoff and the staff there were amazing from beginning to end. They listened, they cared, they followed up with me, and they took the time to see me and my dog as a family unit and not just a dollar sign. Dr. Winikoff helped me understand the things my baby boy was going through. I cannot tell you how thrilled I am to have a vet who agrees that our pets are our children and that they are all special and deserve holistic care. If you want to feel like you're getting real understanding and compassion from a Vet, then this is the only place I can recommend. Absolutely phenomenal experience and I'm so glad I found them. Also, cause we all worry about costs, they are VERY affordable just in local Vet cost terms. Especially so, considering the level of service, care, and attention they provide.

In almost two years time and it is still difficult for us to consider City Strut and it's proprietor/owner, Bonnie Dias, anything but family. City Strut is simply the most organized and professional entity we have ever had the pleasure to work with. Punctuality, flexibility, leadership, attention to detail, efficiency, quantified results, etc. are but a few qualities that have helped City Strut thrive and lead in this highly competitive field. The one quality that stands out above anything else is the love and empathy that Bonnie has for all the dogs that she cares for. It is this single driving force that allows us to trust our beloved dog/child with her on a daily basis. Our doggy is a handful in that he is very loud and rambunctious but while with Bonnie he is a perfect little citizen. He loves her as much as we do which is evident every morning as he pulls and claws us towards her home with all his might. Last year we went overseas but were on the verge of canceling because we were so worried about our dog being without us for two weeks. City Strut to the rescue as Bonnie cared and loved for our dog well above and beyond the call of duty. To ease our hearts and minds, Bonnie sent us photos daily so that we could see the love of our lives and enjoy our trip at the same time! In closing, Bonnie is a saint who speaks to the dogs with her heart and values their safety above anything else. We highly recommend City Strut and will continue to be a part of Bonnie's family as long as she will have us.

We researched and found Lap of Love, and we are so grateful. We called and spoke to Kayla Johnson, veterinary care coordinator. She was so empathetic, kind, and caring. She answered all of our questions and went above and beyond. She coordinated for Dr. Connie to visit our come to help our sweet Lyla girl "cross the rainbow bridge." It was one of the worst days of my life and some of the worst grief I've ever experienced. Dr. Connie was so thoughtful, empathetic, sweet, and caring. She shaved a small piece of fur for us (which I requested), and was so thoughtful in getting a spot with all of our girl's colors while also being respectful to Lyla. She took the most beautiful paw print in clay that we will cherish forever. We chose to have a private cremation for Lyla and we picked up the ashes from our vet in a beautiful engraved wooden box. From the first phone call we made to lap of love, to the very end of recieving the ashes, the communication has been very thorough, empathetic, helpful, and warm. Thank you Lap of Love. Thank you Kayla. Thank you so much Dr Connie, we will never forget your kindness and care.

The most caring, kindest, and honest grooming team I've ever met!…read more I was looking to get the family maltese groomed because she's been very long overdue. My family couldn't take her due to the pandemic, her regular groomer going on vacation, and other reasons. She basically had covid hair: long, tangled, and overgrown around her paws. It was very easy to set up an appointment with them by phone call. They'll text you the address, how to get into the house, and will also follow up and remind you of your appointment. You also need to send them records of your dog's vaccinations for the safety of your dog + the other dogs there. Again due to the pandemic, my family also wasn't able to get our dog out to the vet for her annual check-up and booster shots. So I had to reschedule to get her vaccinated first. Jan and her team were so accommodating! They squeezed us in to fit with my schedule. Because Jan's house is actually a house located in a residential area with the business side being accessed by the back gate near the garage, I would recommend parking on the street in front or nearby to get in and out easily. I did see some customers park in her driveway for quick drop offs, but I wanted more time to be able to talk with Jan for our dog's first grooming experience with her. All staff are masked and Jan's house is very clean. I did not feel unsafe at all going into her house. Jan was so gentle and listened to our family's requests about how we would like to get our dog groomed. She explained that she would need to trim shorter due the mats that formed from the longer fur. Mats can be painful to dogs and damaging to their skin, so I appreciated that she kindly explained this to us. Not only that, she explained that some dogs may feel "shy" or "naked" if they haven't been groomed for a long time. Our dog was actually okay and didn't have problems with having less fur, but I still like that she let us know what to possibly expect. They'll give you an estimate of when the dog grooming should be done. They'll also text you about 15-20 minutes before your dog will be ready for pick up. Jan also honestly told us and texted us photo proof that our dog had some preexisting problems: irritated skin and paws and a possible ear infection. She also gave us advice on what to do with family members who love to over feed the dog. Our dog definitely put on weight during the pandemic and my family loves to show love with food. Jan is very knowledgeable and told us what she think might have been the problem with the family dog's paw and skin irritation: my family was not rinsing our dog's fur fully, so leftover shampoo residue ended up irritating her skin. She suggested we mix the dog shampoo with water first to dilute it and then bathe our dog. Not once did I ever feel judged about the state of our dog. Instead she gave us advice in the kindest tone and most caring manner. You could tell that she and her team really love dogs and have tons of experience. I would highly recommend Jan's Dog House!

So besides needing eye drops for glaucoma and a cataract she required Prednisone. Well we all see these commercials for wonder drugs ( the wonder is why we take them with all the side effects) so even though the Prednisone gave my girl relief it slowly started to effect other systems. Last week in what appeared to be overnight she slowly stopped eating but only drank. That was a red flag. Took her to an emergency facility which was a nightmare. Four hours sitting around waiting for some diagnosis. Every so often someone would come out and give some empty info. Finally a vet came out and provided me with a 3 page plan with an estimate that sent me to the cardiologist. This where Zen Dog comes in. Based on the diagnosis and the plan with no light at the end we felt the best most humane course of action was to euthanize. Spoke with Dr. Ray., he could not have been more understanding and compassionate. He showed up at the house took the time to explain the process. Once comfortable with what was going to happen he started. Dr Ray gave us time to be with her and comfort her until the end.
