From the moment I entered the shop, I was greeted by multiple smiles and offered immediate assistance with selecting a good novice pair. My feet were measured and 2 different types of beginner friendly skates were brought out for me to try. Both worked great but I ultimately decided to go with the slightly more expensive option so I can upgrade the wheels as I level up. The staff helped my first visit go super smoothly and offered complimentary tune ups should the wheels start to wear. They were even able to find me a discount on the skates! I haven't skated since I was a kid but told them I was more used to inline skates. They measured my feet and brought me a pair of inlines as well as a pair of quads just in case. They laced them up for me and let me do a few laps around the store to see how I felt. I asked about protective gear, they recommended some, and even fit tested it for me. The staff here was so helpful, patient, and knowledgeable. I can't recommend them highly enough. If you're in the market for skates, get them from Asphalt Beach.

The beautiful craftsmanship is, well, beautiful. They're known for skateboards, but they do countertops, tables, chairs, cupboards, frames, coat hooks, you name it. Anything out of wood. If I had the budget, I would do my whole house with them. As an added side, they also employ young men from the neighborhood whom they mentor and teach their craft. It's the kind of business that you actually want to support. It's run by brothers, and they also do print design and art. I called and talked to Luke on the phone and described what my 11-year-old daughter was looking for in a bike - I had a make and model in mind. They didn't carry that specific one, but he spent 15+ minutes looking online and making suggestions of similar options. We decided on one (a Haro) and even though it was above what I was looking to spend, the customer service on a cold call from someone random was top-notch. They even went out of their way to special order a white basket for the front of the bike and mounted it. My daughter has been riding it every day since we got it. Their bike tech Stephen was great on the phone when I described what she wanted in a basket. It's not cheap, but it's not outrageous, and the customer service I experienced was on another level. If you're looking for something that will last your kids many years, I highly recommend coming here.

Extremely disappointed in Dick's Sporting Goods and how this situation was handled…read more My 85-year-old grandmother purchased a pair of CALIA pants and tank top end of September as a Christmas gift after being explicitly told by a sales associate that the item could be returned through the end of January due to the holidays. She relied on that information when making the purchase and, frankly, was taken advantage of due to her age and good faith. When I attempted to exchange the item after Christmas -- brand new with tags and accompanied by a gift receipt -- I was told it was ineligible because it was 102 days since purchase, exceeding the 90-day policy by just 12 days. The store stated there was "nothing they could do." I went in store, used live chat, and escalated via phone, yet no one was willing to help -- not even by offering store credit or a gift card. I was never seeking a refund to the original form of payment. It is unacceptable that Dick's chose to rigidly enforce policy while refusing to stand behind what their own employee told an elderly customer. A 12-day difference should not outweigh basic customer service, especially for a holiday gift purchased in good faith. I am now left with a brand-new item I cannot use and a very poor impression of a company that claims to value its customers.

I have visited this Dick's on multiple occasions for a variety of items from coolers to shoes, to sportswear and even just to walk around and waste time. All visits are pretty standard and I usually find what I need within a reasonable time. They stay well stocked at this location, this along with keeping the store clean, organized and in good condition makes it a decent spot to stop by. I will say the one thing that is inconsistent with this location is the customer service. On my most recent trips in, I have wandered the full store for over 15 minutes each and not once was I spoken to...even when I entered and left the store. And it was not because the lack of staff. They were there, just not interested in assisting I assume. Overall, if they can get their service in line, it would easily be a 5 star shopping experience at this location.
