Both stellar and I would get another round if we had time. Happy hour is £2.50 pints - can't get better than that. Parking around the building was atrocious, to say the least. Take public transit if you can. T took us 30 minutes to get out of the tinyiest parking garage known to man. Other than that, I hope we stop by again if we're ever in Cardiff.

The staff here are incredibly friendly and helpful. Although not on the menu, we asked if we could sample all the beers they make which was no issue at all and all surprisingly cheap. They had a variety of beers from light mango beer, through to chocolate beer and even a 'black' beer. The smell from each beer was incredible and the bartender told us the reasoning behind each recipe and the flavours we should be able to taste with each glass. To line our stomachs as we drank we ordered a couple of things off the menu. We had the sharing starter which was smoked salmon , tomatoes, Parma ham and goats cheese on ciabatta followed by the thermidore mussels. Both of which were very good, the sauce on the mussels was Devine, incredibly rich and creamy ! They do have quite a limited menu here (mainly mussels, pizza and salad) but what they do have looks and tastes brilliant. They have a great open kitchen with an impressive pizza oven and each pizza looked incredible. I'd definitely come back here when we have a little more time and spend a bit longer trying to beers and taking in the atmosphere. Some days of the week they even have the distillers in operating the kit while you eat and drink which I am sure would be most entertaining ! Great place 4/5

"Oh its so great to live in Pontcanna there are some wonderful family run cafes and bars only frequented by the locals thankfully". Pontcanna is a nice place to live but it i pricey and it does not have a monopoly on nice little family run cafes and restaurants. One of my best friends live near by and I have been in pretty much every bar and restaurant in this area and they are ok. I went to Cibo found the food ok but the attitude of the service staff was just about acceptable sometimes bordering on rude. I don't mean deliberately rude but it was as if I was only there by luck and my purpose was to give them money. If you go there I'm sure you will have food that is passable - if you think its exceptional then you need to eat out more.

Can anybody tell me if there is an historic connection between Cardiff and Italy? I'm caused to…read morewonder owing to the fact that Cardiff has some of the best Italian Restaurants in the world outside of this Southern European country. There's The North Star on North Road, Porto Due on St Mary Street, and Cibo on Pontcanna Street... all of which have something more than a bit special about them. The food at Cibo is exceptional. It would be my favourite Italian in Cardiff if it weren't for the fact that I have fallen in love with the wonderful interiors that you get at The North Star. It's not that Cibo is plain... far from it. It's lovely. It is tastefully furnished with a beautiful wooden bar and serving are that takes center stage. The garden is really sweet. It's entirely enclosed and intimate. But, when compared to the sheer scale and grandure there's ultimately no comparison between this place and The North Star. The food, I would say is n a par... but may be Cibo clinches it... it's a tough call...!?!

Apart from the primary colour palette of the décor the pizzeria is a blast having all the possible combinations you could want if it wasn't for the Dominoes sizzler I would be more of a patron to this little shop of Italian pizza men (not quite). But sometimes it can remind you of super Mario Bro's in a good way. The pizzas rain from this place with delivery nearly as good as in the samurai pizza cats cartoon. The pizza is top nosh for drunk, student or respectable citizen alike. A medium pizza with a can of drink compares well to the Crwys road Pizza Time or any of the crwys road choices. They do the ever funny offer of BOGO buy one get one.

Yup, there's no missing this little fast food outlet on City Road, no matter how obscure the location! For some reason City Pizza seems to have been separated from the herd, and stands alone to fend for itself at the mouth of City Road where it meets Newport Road. The rest of the take aways have clearly stampeded their way a little further up the street, carried away on tide of momentum, to scratch away at the over-grazed hinterland, leaving City Pizza to feast on the banquette offered up by occupying premium turf. But it's not just the location that has secured the success of this place. A lot of what has inured its regulars is the fact that it makes mighty fine pizzas and consistently shows its gratitude to its customers by proffering some great special deals. At the moment you can buy any medium pizza with side order and soft drink for £4.00, which is pretty unbeatable! What makes me smile is that they have bothered to write out in full the two other deals that you can take advantage of at the moment... two medium pizzas, with two side orders and two cans of pop is £8.00... oh, darn it, they've got me at now as well! So, in order to avoid repeating myself again, please let me tell you that there's no surprises where the third offer is concerned... the only difference is that everything comes in three's, and, yes you guessed it, the price is £12.00!
