When we walked in, we weren't greeted, and the staff didn't seem very friendly. The service was just average. The drinks were decent, and the food was okay. The tacos, though small, had good flavor, while the wings were overcooked--almost like they had been air-fried twice. It looked like a live band was setting up for a Thursday night performance, which could add to the atmosphere. Place was pretty small and not a lot of comfortable seating. More like bar seating. The server Susie didn't seem that happy or pleasant to be working on a Thursday night either. I'm not sure if the vibes are different here on a warmer summer night but I don't think I'm willing to find out. There's better places in the neighborhood.

Definitely a favorite among the locals! What a cool spot with a great ambience! The decor was fabulous with the various tiki faces, the lights, surf board, giraffe, hula girl pictures! I loved the tiki hut that surrounds the bathroom in the back! The music was awesome and very luau-ish themed. The waiter/bartender was very friendly and nice to talk to and the regulars were friendly as well. My boyfriend and I hung out inside the tiki bar, but there was also an enclosed screened-in porch as well with fun decor and lights. My boyfriend had wine, but I tried one of the favorites on the menu as I was told! All of the drinks on the menu looked good so I needed to ask the bartender for some help. He recommended the Poseidon Punch which was very good, string, and beautifully made with the people on the top and the yellow on the bottom! Didn't have any food, but we plan on going back soon once the summer comes to sit in the screened-in porch! Lots of photo ops available and the drinks were very reasonable!! Our first trip to the Rockaway's was a hit! ‍

Great ambience here! I always love a good tiki bar and this place being brand new is way cleaner than any of the others I've visited! The bartender, Susie, took great care of me and my cousin when we stopped in after work. The place is not that big but it's a good enough size to have a private conversation with your cousin at one of the tables while two groups of men have their own conversing in the bar. There was atv going but we could barely hear it. We both ordered poke bowls. I got the tuna and my cousin got the chicken. I've honestly never heard of chicken poke, I'm pretty sure that poke is only fish but it's a nice creation for the area. I doubt many would eat raw fish. Certainly my cousin wouldn't. The portions were enormous, neither of us finished our bowls but my cousin had enough to save for her lunch the next day. We both LOVED our food and our skinny margaritas. We'll definitely be back to try more food.

Poke bowls and drinks were good! Poke bowl portion was a bit small (wish there was more salmon) and service took awhile. Overall very cute place with fun decor and good food. Would recommend.

I just pay almost $25 with taxes for the "tuna tower" . More like the rice tower!! Do better!!!

I just got the "Tuna Tower" that was more like the rice tower. I pay almost $25 with all the taxes for a tower of rice and a few cubes of tuna and avocado. Do better.......

Really nice place and great food. We ordered the chicken poke bowl - fresh and delicious. Also ordered the shrimp spring rolls which were really good. The mushroom baos were huge and great but too much cabbage for me. The dumplings were my favorite - healthy simple and tasty. I had the liquid gold drink and if you're not a ginger lover don't order it because it's super strong.

We were next door looking into getting a surf board. Jennie who works there suggests we go for lunch at the Tiki. In we go and are greeted by Pat. Not crowded we have our choice, inside or out. It's like 90 degrees out so we sit down at a table inside. Place looks cool with totem masks and artwork on the walls. A red scooter near the front door. I order some Prosecco. We order the teriyaki chicken dumplings and tuna poke salad. The food comes quickly and it's great. 12 dumplings with a delicious teriyaki sauce. The salad is also delicious with tuna tomatoes legumes and arugula. We hang out a bit, no rush. The music playing island style. What a delightful lunch. I tell Pat that I'll do a Yelp review and he thanks me! We ll be back soon

Celebrated a military retirement party here. The owners and staff were all extremely friendly and service was phenomenal. All the cocktails tasted great and the appetizers were deeelish. I especially enjoyed the chicken sliders and dumplings. I highly recommend the Rockaway Tiki Bar to anyone in the area! Will definitely come back on my next visit to New York!

Saw this place in a YouTube video and made the 1-hour drive right after. Parking was easy and the sign was right about chill vibes and tropical drinks. I was not expecting much, but was totally thrilled about the entire experience. I thought it would be a bar that just threw in some tiki drinks, but I was wrong...very wrong. This spot must be on every tiki enthusiast's Must Go list!

Very good poke bowl with tofu, and our very friendly waiter had them make it without the Mayo to be vegan. Quick and friendly service and lots of vegan friendly options.

We went for lunch Sunday. The place has a very cool vibe. The staff is sort of pleasant. Told us to sit where we want, but failed to explain that there would not be anyone to take our order. It's done via the app. And, if you're not signed up for the app, there's a two dollar charge to use it. (My 79 year old mother would never be able to go there by herself) Anyway, we asked a girl that was doing the chalkboard sign what the situation was, and she explained it to us. The menu is very small and there are not that many options. We ordered two different orders of steamed dumplings (chicken teriyaki and an order of pork dumplings) I really could not tell which was which. We also got the chicken lettuce wraps, and two orders of pokey. One salmon and one tuna. The poke was probably my least favorite of all the poke I have eaten in my life. It was edible, but that's about it. The bill came out to over $75. Everything was OK. Nothing tasted outstanding. Nothing was mind blowing. If you want to order drinks they have to be ordered at the bar. The drinks are OK. I probably would never go back there again. The place is just not for me.

There is a parking lot past the restaurant because you'll see there isn't much street parking near the establishment. The space itself is stunning big windows everywhere that let in the most gorgeous natural light, high ceilings, and beautiful decor throughout. It feels open, airy, and thoughtfully designed. There's also a live singer who performs on weekends and is absolutely wonderful, which adds such a nice touch to the atmosphere. One of my favorite details was the pasta station just behind the bar where you can watch them making fresh pasta from scratch, such a cool experience. Service was great, and our waitress was very patient with all of our questions. Now the food... even better. I had the eggs Benedict, and it definitely did not disappoint. We also tried the crispy calamari, which was fried to perfection, and the meatballs both were delicious. If this was just a sneak peek of what their dinner menu is like, I already know it won't disappoint. Can't wait to go back!

Two of them were clearly not fresh. I asked the waitress to replace them, and she called the owner over. I explained that I had gotten sick from eating a bad oyster before and was concerned about the freshness. He took the tray away and said, "Then you shouldn't order oysters." That response was rude and unprofessional. At that point, I should have canceled the rest of my order. We also ordered two pasta dishes. The Squid Ink Linguine was just okay--nothing memorable. The Spicy Sausage Gramigna was disappointing because it was supposed to include broccoli rabe, but there wasn't any in the dish. Overall, the poor quality of the oysters and the owner's dismissive attitude made for a very disappointing dining experience.

Staff were super nice and tried their best despite the situation. Tickets were $65 per person and the advertisement promised unlimited oysters and Heineken silvers from 3-5 pm (while supplies last). For the price, a reasonable person would expect as many oysters as they can eat plus flowing beers. It quickly became apparent that was untrue. Three oysters were served every 10-20 minutes. Only one type of oyster (Blue Island, the sponsor). The shuckers were working hard but the management tried to stretch their supply of oysters as much as possible to have people eat as few oysters as possible in the two hours. I counted the oysters I got in the entire agonizing two hours- 24 oysters and 6 clams. Why clams? They ran out of oysters and someone brought in a bag of clams to fill the last half hour. Mind you, most of the oysters served were tiny, skinny, and sometimes full of shell shards. Beers ran towards the end too. 24 oysters for $65 and a two hour wait.... We ended up ordering the Roadhouse nachos but the brisket looks fantastic. The brisket in the nachos was good but probably won't recommend because the nachos were very bean dominated. tl;dr don't trust them with food events. Pros: nice staff, nice bathrooms and sinks, nice bar atmosphere, brisket looks and tastes good, oysters tasted good, cocktail sauce was yummy Cons: oyster fest was a scam and total waste of both money and time, you were served three skinny oysters every 15 minutes, not "unlimited" as advertised. Previous oyster fests allowed customers to freely get oysters. The angry male staff member with a baseball cap went around grumpily telling people to sit down when they were trying to order from the bar or take pictures of the oysters.
