A small unique Caribbean resturant which you could easily walk past if you didn't know it was there. It is not set up like some of the big brand Caribbean themed restaurants. This is a small independent resturant run by the owner with a small staff group, from what I could see.
The interior is quirky lots of good photos from a time gone by. The furniture is an crazy mix from a church bench to standard tables and chairs. The bar is available for, just a drink or you can sit at the bar and eat.
The menu is as you would expect, jerk chicken, curry goat, fritters, home made deserts, including ice cream. Service, potentially, could be a little slow as they had a 50th birthday party in, but in actual, fact that did not slow anything down.
The owner was friendly and happy to engage. The food was flavoursome, a good spicy kick was served with my jerk chicken wings for starters. I did expect a little more heat from my curry goat, but the meat was so tender I wouldn't grumble to much about that.
I will return here, I liked the ambience, there was music but you did not need to shout to have a conversation. read more
