The scenery along the lake is beautiful and on many holes you are greeted with a view of the lake. The course is good but not so hard it makes it too difficult. I was really impressed with the staff in the proshop as well as the cafe in the club house. If you get a large soft drink they refill it for the day at no charge so you can get a refill at the turn then again as you finish. On a 95 degree day like it was for us today the free refills was very much appreciated. Overall this is a great course and one of the very best public courses in the state.

Upon entering the building next the the Pro Shop the hostess greeted us and sat us near a window seat. The views are spectacular from this hilltop view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Ben was our server and handed us menus that were extremely simple and easy to follow. Ben went over the specials for food and drinks and within 15 minutes our food was served. We both ordered brunch foods I had the pancakes, eggs and bacon while my wife enjoyed eggs Benedict. All foods were tasty and delicious with one exception was that the eggs Benedict were slightly over cooked and yolk lacked fluidity. However, the lady at the table next to us ordered the same meal and hers came out perfect. Without complaining we assumed that the delicious smoked bacon on my plate may have taken extra time and my wife's egg yolks may have sat and cooked firm while my bacon took extra minutes. Not a problem, still satisfied with flavor!! The staff and location deserves 5 Stars and two thumbs up for extraordinary service and hospitality. We are looking forward to going back and will make a reservation to make sure we get allowed inside by the security gatekeepers Kevin and Mr. Tennessee.
