I have no idea how he found me -- I think he bought the lead from an unscrupulous contractor whose…read moreexcessive bid I rejected. He said he would fix the problem for a thousand dollars. He took so long that the problem significantly worsened (or maybe his inspection worsened it?), and then he said it would cost 1100 to probably fix the problem and 2500 to definitely fix it. I said let's start with the 1100, and then pay the extra 1500 if your 1100 dollar fix doesn't work. He came by, six days after he originally promised, and spent about two hours doing his 1100 dollar job. Then his secretary (wife? daughter?) called me and asked me to pay immediately by check. I had no serious reason to distrust him -- I thought I had done research and called him for the quote rather than him cold-calling me -- so I put the check in the mail. The next rainfall, it became clear that his two hour, $1100 fix was inadequate, and I contacted him, saying -- hey, as we discussed before, can you guarantee that the extra 1500 will fix it? His secretary (wife? daughter?) replied to the email and said that he thought the roof was beyond repair (why didn't he tell me that when made the bid? why not tell me that when he started the job? why not tell me that after he finished the job?) and that, in his generosity, he was willing to apply the thousand dollars he had taken toward a new roof. Presumeably, he planned to charge five hundred dollars an hour for the roofing job, so the thousand dollars would not have gone very far. As a side note, the other review explicitly mentions his BBB A+ rating, which only means that BBB has not involved in any disputes -- if you go to his BBB page, you will find a post by an another irate customer, whose experience was remarkably similar to mine.

We called and the next morning he was here and fixed our problem. Nice, clean-cut man. Very polite…read more I would highly recommend. And the BBB gave him an A+ rating!

Zero stars. 4 leaks within 1.5 years of new roof. We had our 20 year old roof replaced in March…read more2024. It came with a 1 year warranty. There had never been any leaks in the primary structure and a small leak had just started in the Florida room. The crews left nails all over the yard which we cleaned up without saying anything. Immediately after the roof work was done and the permit was closed, our Florida room started leaking. Their team came out and "fixed" the leak which was at one of the skylights. In October 2024 (7 months after new roof) our guest bathroom had a leak. They came out and said the vent needed to be replaced. After months of phone tag and unfulfilled promises they said it was "fixed". In June 2025 (15 months after new roof) we had another leak in the guest bathroom. It turns out they did not replace the vent, they put some sealant over the opening and that sealant only lasted 6 months. Since we were out of warranty we paid another company $750 to replace the vent and properly fix the leak. In July 2025 (16 month after new roof) our Florida room started pouring water from the ceiling. Upon inspection by another company, both of our skylights are not sealed properly, including the one that was supposedly "fixed" immediately after the permit was closed. It is going to cost us another $1,500 to repair this new leak. If I could go back, I would NEVER have used this company.

Excellent, start to finish…read more Prior to contacting roofers, I visited with Indian River County building division officials to get some pointers, learn of my house's history, ask how the permitting, inspection, and approval processes work, and gain some assurance that their processes would protect the integrity of my house's structure and my imminent additional investments in it. Both John and Son, before all else, spent an hour at my house educating me, gave me pros and cons about what I thought I wanted (which they could do and had much experience doing since 1985), and how spending more might not mean greater reliability or better protection over an admittedly longer lifespan, a lifespan reaching much further into the future than my own. There was no sales pitch or hustle. When their proposals for both shingle and metal (4000sf cover) arrived a few days later, the numbers for both were toward the low end of competitive, which was good, although I was not interested in going with the lowest bidder; I wanted the best quality, performance, and value for what i could afford, to avoid disaster trauma in my declining years. They sent me to the metal-roof products manufacturer and distributor to learn more about the variations and choices entailed in putting on a metal roof. Confusion and impatience overcame me. I accepted their proposal for a shingle roof; I did not handl. (Both parties must be happy for a deal to be successful.) They gave me a date two months out, March 27, 2023, which I accepted as approximate given the variables affecting such undertakings; they did in fact start on March 27th, finished that week, with the County's final inspection and sign-off in my presence April 4, 2023. Their crew was organized, considerate, and cooperative, cleaned up daily, all at exactly the same time, start to finish, as the house was being re-piped. I could not have asked for better. Now for the pool resurfacing, driveway work, and fencing...
