We first contacted Impact about renovating an old outbuilding on our property that had a partially collapsed roof. From our initial discussions about what we wanted, to the specifications, timeline, and expected quality of the work, we were impressed by their thoroughness, professionalism, and responsiveness. We signed a contract in late May 2026, with completion estimated at 6-8 weeks, and they were remarkably close to that timeline. Throughout the project, communication was excellent. I always knew what to expect, when to expect it, and who would be on site. My primary contacts were Eric and Bryan, and both were personable, professional, and a pleasure to work with. We especially appreciated that Eric and Bryan, who is also a co-owner, were regularly on site to inspect the work and make sure everything was progressing properly. Brandon, the other owner, also stopped by to inspect the project and discuss an unexpected issue that arose. Because this was a renovation of an 85-year-old building, we encountered numerous unexpected problems along the way, including several walls that had to be partially removed and rebuilt in order to complete the project. Impact took every challenge in stride, and the end result far exceeded our expectations. In fact, the building was truly a wreck when they started. Before contacting Impact, we had even obtained estimates to simply demolish it. Seeing what they were able to accomplish was incredibly impressive. It is time consuming and one can easily become swayed by the personalities of the people coming out to do the estimate and walk-through process. The owner, John Bryant was the first person out of four who we interviewed. Our final decision to go with Capital Concrete Coatings was based on several factors. John is an good communicator, highly experienced in his field, and made good suggestions. He invested additional time by meeting with us at another's client's home to see his work. In talking with him, we recognized that creativity is part of his thought process and it makes for the execution of a good design. Now, that the project is complete, we are thrilled with the results. The Project: Resurfacing our concrete pool decking and making it look like a stone surface. The job was complicated by the fact that a portion of the deck was not level. John worked closely with us in coming up with the right stains and gave us good advice in terms of choosing colors that would not make the concrete surface too hot during the summer. Even more importantly, the combination of colors chosen made the stone look so natural. The primary team worked well together and were guided by Richard, a good man, experienced and a long-time employee of Capital Concrete. Just so you know, John played an active role, especially when the slip was put down and especially when drawing and painting took place. He was totally hands on during the whole process. I should add that we had no idea how labor intensive and time consuming this was going to be, but the final product leaves no doubt that it was done by professionals. (The day that they started hand-drawing and cutting the rock patterns as well as the following day when staining took place were so exciting that I almost wanted to pull up a chair and a bowl of popcorn while watching them make art in our backyard. I jokingly called John, Degas and Rich, Picasso.) I hope, if you choose this company, you can be around to witness the process. We are truly thankful that we selected this company. While I was setting up Christmas decorations, I observed that one of the bushes has begun to regrow, which seems to be regarded as a miracle since the root ball was supposedly removed! Additionally, I noticed that a considerable portion of the newly installed concrete slab is distinctly discolored due to inconsistent or improper mixing. Unfortunately it seems I will have to resolve this through our court system.
