I am so happy that I decided to check out TLG one random Saturday. Nora absolutely loved it. So…read moremuch, that we signed up for the rest of that current session and the next one. We go every Saturday, in the morning. Nora smiles so big when she sees us pull up to the location. She has made new friends and has really opened up. It is the perfect time for us, since it is right before nap time. It helps get her nice and worn out. She is learning to share, be independent from us, new skills each week, etc. Ms. Nikki is the absolute best. She is very encouraging, even helping Nora to learn walk. The structure is fantastic. It's a good mix of tumbling/gymnastics, learning new skills to do with your child (flips, handstands, wheelbarrows, etc) and it incorporates music/dancing as well. I would HIGHLY recommend taking your child here. It has been so great for Nora and I'm so happy we signed up to continue going.

My wife and I took our son for several months when he was just a wee little baby and loved it. We noticed marked improvements in his overall physicality. Then, we moved and life happened, so we fell out of touch with The Little Gym for a while. We always wanted to put him back in, so we were finally able to when he was 3. He's now 4, and we're so glad to be back. Even though there is a Summerville location that would be closer to home we really like this West Ashley location. It's worth the extra drive time. We love the owner Mrs. Tori. She's fantastic with children. She has a way with capturing their attention and making sure they're all involved. All the instructors are carefully selected and trained and have their own unique aspects they bring to the classes. In classes the kids learn different jumps, strengthening exercises, and stability moves. When first starting to walk it definitely sped things up a bit for my son. Now, I notice my son's grip and holding strength improving. Not to mention he has a blast each week. He can't wait for Little Gym time on the weekend. Also, there are parent survival nights where you can drop your kids off for 3 hours and have a little time to yourself or a date night. They have other activities and events beyond the normal classes (which there a range of) making it well worth the money.

FIRST of all, I wrote a review back in March 2018 that was deleted for some reason - seems the gym…read morehad two Yelp pages, so it makes me wonder how many other people have reviewed this establishment with their reviews deleted. A quote I love: Do you want to go to a gym that has kids who do gymnastics or one that actually prepares your athlete to be a Gymnast? If you are serious about competitive gymnastics, I would not come to this gym. Also, I felt like the turnover of Recreation instructors and coaches was crazy - they usually don't last more than a few months. In addition, I noticed their coach to gymnast ratio is, at times, 1 coach to approx 20+ competitive girl gymnasts - at the time we left - one coach was attempting to coach ALL 4 events. During competitions, most of the gymnasts came in last place in events, sometimes scoring in the 5-6 range. The owner always claims the girls were improving and doing so well (AS IF we couldn't see that other gyms were much more stellar than this one - the gym should feel embarrassed) - I felt the gym had no organization, along with no real strength and conditioning program - so how will the athletes ever be competitive among other gymnasts? I felt the owner was always claiming they were the best at what they do and had been doing it for 30+ years - I say, if you've coached for that long, by now your team should be amazing. I feel the owner is set in their ways and will never open their mind to the missing opportunities they have. This gym COULD be amazing - it's large enough, but I felt they didn't do anything to improve and move forward into the 21st century. I also felt the competition fees were padded, the owner never communicated to the parents what they were paying for (for instance, last season fees were $800 - with only a few meets and almost all were LOCAL with no overnights - does not make sense). In addition, I feel the overall communication is lacking at this gym. If you do not sit there in the lobby waiting for your child to be done - you will never know what is going on - you have to hope someone relays to you the information. DISCLAIMER: We no longer are paying customers at this gym (since 4-5 months ago) - SO there COULD be some improvement, but I seriously doubt it. **PREVIOUS REVIEW**: To me it seems the management is not looking to grow the gymnastics business as they seem too busy to take phone calls or even return phone calls from prospective clients (which I have seen in person with the phone ringing many times a day and not one person answering it). In my opinion, even though this gym is one of the largest in the area, they struggle to keep up to date with the constant growing competitive sport. I feel they overcharge for their competition fees in an effort to make up for losses in other areas of their business. It looks as if they have no presence on social media to even take constructive feedback or respond back to customers. Their website seems outdated, having information from 2 years ago on the front page. From their website, It seems they are understaffed as they only list 3 people who work there - one Head Coach for gymnastics and 2 Cheer staff - yet they state (in all CAPS) they are the 'Most Qualified Staff in the Charleston Area'. They also state on their website, they offer a National Team, TOPs/Elite training - which I think is misleading - I'd like to see their TOPs/Elite program as I have never experienced a TOPs/Elite program there. They also seem to foster a resentment to other area gyms that, in my opinion, is toxic. They recently hired an admin person for the front desk, which will hopefully bring them more success at responding to customer phone calls/messages.
