Ugh, this place.... Beer, beer and beers, you can smoke here. Hell yes! There are no yuppies here, which is nice, you'd think a place like this might have Gyros, which are pronounced guy-rows, after the rowers of the ancient ships of Greece, specifically, the isle of Lesvos, where they were of course invented, to feed the aforementioned rowers of the great ships. Sadly, this place does not have those delicious sandwiches, the first sandwiches in recorded history. They do have burgers, hoagies, and a plethora of cheap eats, classic pub grub, priced responsibly, and to move. Also, they stopped doing "karate nite drinking competition " which isn't really a good thing, or even a thing, anywhere, ever, so there's that

Absolutely the best public restroom I have ever been in! Was driving through western PA and needed a bathroom quick! Luckily this little rest stop was open! Btw, bring your own soap.

For a cheap sucker like me this place is where I'd build a home. You'll be swimming in cheap beers and gorged with after 8 specials on pierogies, tacos, and pizza boats. The people are friendly enough, the food is good for the price, the place isn't too dirty (or if it was I didn't notice it), and your buddies can smoke all they want inside. The area is a bit sketchy at night, but I've seen worse.

Stopped in here today for a little "pre-lube on the cheap" before I meet up with my girl on the North Shore to enjoy the Gaelic Storm show at Stage AE. I agree with the rest of the reviews here. Inexpensive craft beers (I'm drinking a Southern Tier Live that only cost me $3.50), really cheap domestic beers, low-cost bar food, good daily specials and very, very, divey in only the best way. Its punkyness reminds me of a few of the bars I've visited in East Greenwich Village. This is a bar for all you bikers, rockers, ink junkies, piercing addicts and all of us that love them. Let your hair down Pricilla and do a shot with me.

The Rock Room is the Crawford Grill of Pittsburgh punk rock. An actual vestige of a living city.

It's been a while that I've moved out of Pittsburgh; I've found other bars that I like, but nothing has quite replaced Gooski's in my heart. I make a point to pay my respects every time I return here. Hardly anything has changed on the interior in the last 30 years. And I hope it never does. It's dark, it's grimy, it's smoky, it's quintessentially Pittsburgh. Crowd has always been an effervescent mix of ages and walks of life. The beer selection is wide and affordable. And the food is just right for intoxicated palates.

First, I wish I would have bought a Gooski's shirt. I have no idea if they had them when I visited but I totally forgot to check when I was there. It feels like the kind of place that if you're wearing this shirt in your hometown a Pittsburgh native would stop you on the street to tell you, "Gooski's is legendary." I wish I was there for the cheap ass drinks and edgy vibe when a band was playing as I love a punk rock vibe, but I think I was there too early in the day for that. The staff was cool, the drinks were exactly what you'd expect, and it's the kind of place that I'd spend way too much time in if I lived in Pittsburgh.

Not to mention, they offer semi-strong long islands for $4 all day, It's sort of a premixed concoction that's just okay in my opinion. Nothing to rave about...but enough to lure you in for price and continue to get you in for more libation. lol Lefty's is a nice and fun hangout spot for friends for sure.and a great way to get into the mix of Pittsburgh natives (people from the surrounding area). The bar is a pretty narrow space and gets packed pretty quickly, but it is a great space to watch sports and chat with people. There is not a lot of seating space as the space is relatively small, but it is still comfortable while standing. Although crowded, the bartenders are quick and efficient with drink orders. If only they sold food, this spot would be perfect. However, there are several shops and restaurants along the strip to grab a bite to eat. In all, cool little dive bar in the heart of the Strip District of Pittsburgh. Also a great vibe and place to meet up with friends for a few drinks or a pit stop while site seeing the downtown area. Stop by, get in and fit into the vibe of this place. It's fun and good times.

Whenever I tell people that it's basically a pub with great sushi they are truly befuddled but everything here works (and is extremely delicious) I've had numerous things from the menu but I always go back to the steak sandwich. I've heard so many mixed things that I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed every aspect of my experience. It kind of has dive bar vibes but the food and drink options are definitely on the elevated side. They open at 4 on Sundays and I got there around 4:15. It was already pretty busy (and by the time I was leaving, every single table and bar stool were occupied). They have standard booth seats along the windows, hightop tables in the middle and bar seating along the bar that curves along the back of the restaurant. I chose to sit at the bar since I was by myself. I was promptly greeted by the bartender. They don't hand you copies of the menu, you have to scan the QR code to access. It is easy to read and follow with sections for drinks, specials (this time they were Wicked themed as a nod to the show at the Benedum) and a sushi section. I ordered the street corn dip. The chips were a bit overcooked and the dip was just OK. I thought it was pricey for what you got. The star of my meal, though, was the patty melt. It had the burger, a bacon jam, caramelized onions and was absolutely delicious! It was served with fries. I considered ordering sushi but wasn't sure what to expect. The patrons sitting on either side of my ordered rolls and they were a nice size and looked delicious, so that is something I would consider ordering in the future. It was a place I'll likely be back to because of the proximity to the theater (although their prices definitely reflect that). Just note how crowded it always is and give yourself plenty of time if you plan on heading here for dinner before the show.
