I expected homemade noodles and perhaps they were, but I could tell little difference in the quality of the noodles as compared to pre-packaged noodles. One strike. The broth was so salty we couldn't eat the meal that we planned to split. I know when you're working with miso and soy, salt is part of the equation. If you're wanting to avoid salt, or at least have a reasonable amount of salt, this is not your place. The chicken that topped the noodles was flavorful and cooked to perfection. All in all, I could have made this dish as presented, just as easily at home. Sorry guys. Not impressed.

While local Pho restaurants tend to overcharge (opinion) by $3-$4 per Bowl, it becomes worthwhile to "make the drive" to a perfect Pho restaurant. We will still visit locals on occasion, but Pho 101 has figured out perfect balance. They also make us feel welcome, which was never a particular concern, but it sets them apart from the competition. Their Boba Tea is like I've grown accustomed to on the U.S. West Coast. I don't understand why some Pho restaurants bring you actual cold Tea, but THESE are indistinguishable from fruit flavored Milkshakes...although they, at $5.95 each, are overpriced by $2. They are incredibly good. Mango, Blackberry, etc. Anyway, the Pho Nam (with Brisket) is incredibly good and with the load of fresh shoots and Thai Basil leaves provided. I-75N to Clark Rd. Both supposedly come with veggies, but the veggie portions were pathetic: a few slices of carrot, 2-3 pieces of snap peas in the soup; onions in the lemongrass tofu, plus a few pieces of raw cabbage, carrot and daikon on the side with the rice). The main portions were only moderate. The pho had a few pieces of each of the vegan beef and tofu, a moderate vermicelli portions, and admittedly a nice salty broth. Not the worst we've had, and I guess I shouldn't complain about vegan options in a town like this, but this was a pretty lacklustre meal given the portions and lack of veggies. Hard to recommend it for that reason.

Don't sleep on this restaurant just because it's at the Hard Rock Casino - Jubao Palace Noodle Bar…read moreslaps so good, it will make you "hit" on a hard 20. After being here a few times, Jubao Noodle Bar is where it's at and truthfully do fine by itself without the casino. So at this point, you should already know that Jubao Noodle Bar is located within the Seminole Hard Rock Casino & Hotel - Tampa. However, it should be recognized that navigating the casino floor does get frustrating. The easiest point of reference is to first understand that the base casino floor is essentially separated into two parts (Part one is where the curved escalators and hotel towers are at and part 2 is the larger part, containing the Hard Rock Cafe and the majority of the table games). Jubao Palace Noodle Bar is located right after the point where the hall from part one connects to part 2. Clear as mud right? Now that you've successfully navigated here, it should be noted that the line and wait can get ridiculous. Not sure if there are specific times when it gets super busy, but it seems like it doesn't die down after lunch hours hit. The small size and amount of tables doesn't necessarily accommodate to the traffic. Be prepared to wait. Speaking of tables, there are several regular tables that seat up to 4 patrons, however the majority of the seating are high tops and bar seating. Don't be alarmed if you get paired at the high tops with other random patrons. The menu itself is very simple, but I can assure you that you can't really go wrong with any of the choices. My "go-to's" are usually the roast duck noodle soup (with egg noodles) and any of the fried rice (crab is the best though). They do offer snow pea leaves which is a Cantonese cuisine classic. It's a great restaurant that is overshadowed by the venue that it's located in.

We arrived around 10:15 p.m. on a Friday night, with the restaurant closing at 11:00 p.m. Maybe that contributed to our experience, although several other parties were seated after us, so we weren't the last customers of the evening. We ordered quickly since we already knew what we wanted. My partner ordered the special, I ordered the ramen, and we shared the fried shrimp dumplings as an appetizer. Our server was friendly and attentive, though it was clear the staff was beginning to transition into closing mode. Unfortunately, that affected the atmosphere. While we were still eating, employees were spraying tables and mopping nearby. The smell of cleaning chemicals mixed with our food, which made the dining experience less enjoyable. When my ramen arrived, it looked more like a wonton soup or pho than the ramen I was expecting. I didn't question it because I assumed it might be their interpretation of the dish. However, the broth was quite bland, and the vegetables were still somewhat undercooked. The chicken had no seasoning, it tasted like it was boiled within the broth. After a few bites and sips, I decided not to finish it. My partner seemed to enjoy his meal, though he tends to be pretty easygoing when it comes to food. I didn't try his dish since it was very spicy and that's not really my thing. The restaurant is in a great location on Central Avenue, which makes it a fun area to walk around and people-watch. However, with most dishes priced around $20, I expected a better overall experience and higher quality food. Unfortunately, this isn't a place I would return to.
