The lodge, park and grounds were very quiet due to the shutdown. All the staff we encountered at the Lodge were very nice. The cafe there off the lobby had very affordable meals especially at breakfast. $8.50 for 2 eggs made to order, bacon/sausage, country potatoes and biscuits/toast! Breakfast was the winner, dinner was edible but not great. Definitely skip the "Hot Brown" sandwich. So why 3 stars? Our room (316) was extremely dated. And at close to $200 a night I expected better. There was an overpowering smell of mildew. The bathroom sink was cracked. The toilet was wobbly. Cracked tile in the dingy tub that also had a rusted shower curtain rod.

Nolin Lake has been my family's second home for years now. A couple years later my parents upgraded to a lake house, and they come down here almost every weekend (Even in the winter!!) I try to make it out here at least a couple times a year and it's always a fun time. The lake is gigantic and absolutely beautiful to cruise on. The surrounding neighborhoods have lovely homes and friendly people. All of the facilities that I have visited at this state park have always felt clean and nice. I could easily recommend this park to anyone. It is way out in the country off of the highway, but it is well worth it for a relaxing weekend in the sun!

Great little campground not too far from Mammoth Cave national park. They have electric and…read moreprimitive camp sites. The campground is not that big, with one bathhouse and a playground. There is a dump station with 2 sites. The reservation check in has ice and fire wood, but it's hit or miss if someone is there to help you. We never even officially checked in because no one was there. We stayed on electric site #2 and it was perfectly shaded and quiet. The sites are nice and level with large spaces for games, hammocks, dogs, etc. Just outside the campground is the beach, park office and lake access for boats. The beach is small, but maintained well. We went on a 95+ degree day and the lake water felt like bath water, it was so warm. The lake was busy with a lots of boats and lots of beach goers. The park is pretty small, it mostly encompasses the lake, and there is not much around there. It take 40 min to get to the interstate and close to an hour to reach Mammoth Cave.

It was really easy to check in though the inn doesn't have a front desk, and my room (#6) was both spacious and exceptionally clean. In fact, my "room" wasn't just one room! I had a bed room, a study, and my own bathroom. The house is within walking distance of WKU and downtown restaurants, and the house boasts a shared modern kitchen as well as state of the art shared laundry facilities. I only stayed for three nights, but one of the other guests I met during my visit was staying there for a couple of months. The house was quiet at night, and there was plenty of hot water for my showers in the morning. During my checkout, I happened to meet the inn's manager, and he was friendly, jolly, and grateful for my business. I would definitely recommend the Tyler Adams House to anyone visiting Bowling Green for a few days, a few weeks, or a few months.

The lodge and additional kitchen/party space is huge, there is so much room! You can do everything here from weddings to family reunions! It's right on the lake and there are so many beautiful little sitting areas and reflection spots. There is a playground for the kids. There is something here for everyone! If you are looking for a place to have an overnight event. I highly recommend Pine Paradise! I met the owner and he is a real down to earth and friendly guy!

Every February for the past three years, I've driven from Ontario to New Orleans for Mardi Gras…read moreseason. I always need to stop in Kentucky or Tennessee on the way down and back at the halfway-ish point. I had enough Airmiles to book this hotel both on the drive down and the trip back. I arrived in the early evening both times and was greeted by the same clerk. She was friendly and we even joked around about Mardi Gras when I came back. It was nice she remembered me. Check-in was easy and hassle-free. I've had other hotels double charge me or put a big hold on my card for 'incidentals,' but they didn't do that. They just ran the card in case any charges were incurred, but they never charged anything to it. The first stay, I had a room with two double beds. I booked that way, wasn't paying attention. I prefer a king-sized bed. That was what I had on the way back and, although the double bed wasn't super uncomfortable, the king bed offered a far better sleep. It was VERY comfortable. But I had a great sleep both nights. The entire hotel is one floor, so no stairs to mess with. I was in a room at the back the first stay, but it was still a very short walk from the car: easy in/easy out. Even better the second stay. I was in room 102 and got to park right in front of my room door. The fast unload and load up the next morning was greatly appreciated. The area was well-lit and felt very safe with other businesses close by. I travel alone most times, so that is important. The rooms were very clean and provided anything you might need. There was only one little spot where it looked like some lotion was mashed into the carpet by the bathroom door, but that would be very difficult to get out with a routine cleaning. Everything else was very clean. Each room was large and had my three must-haves when travelling: in-room coffee maker, fridge for cream when on the go and a luggage rack for my huge suitcase so I don't have to bend over to root through it. This hotel also did something I haven't seen at other places that made me very happy: the in-room coffee packs. I like a LOT of coffee in the morning and they provided six packs of regular (there was decaf too, but I see zero point in that lol). Most places only give you two. I had early mornings to start a long drive and really appreciated that extra coffee. The morning clerk was also super friendly at checkout and wished me a safe drive. There are also many gas stations around and places to eat as well. If you make the very well worth it drive to Turtlelinis for pizza, there is a convenience store around the corner that is stocked as well as a small grocery store. So, if you want a clean comfortable place to stay that provides extra amenities like the fridge and microwave and lots of coffee, I definitely recommend the Super 8 Wyndham Cave City! Will return for my Mardi Gras trip in 2021.

Really had I known, I would have planned to stay at least a couple of nights total to explore more of Mammoth Caves. The price is a great value, with a free breakfast it's a lot of bang for very little buck. There is a pool and jacuzzi, they looked quite inviting. We did not take advantage of these options only because we were a little beat coming back from our Cave tour early in the day. Checking in was a breeze, the clerk was very friendly, got to love this area of the country, we find friendly folks are plentiful. Breakfast was good, eggs, sausage, bread items, oj and more. We fueled up ;) on the eats for the next part of our journey. There is a cute gazebo area out the backdoor to sit at while enjoying your meal, how special is that. Remember this is a Super 8, so realize it's not going to be fancified, but it is definitely good enough. The room was quite clean too! Yes I'd stay here again.
