I loved our experience with Rock Bottom Carpets in Madison, AL. The staff was super helpful and friendly! They were patient with me while I picked out the color carpet I wanted. They installed the carpet within a couple days, even though it was during a Holiday. They came out and finished all in one day (we had our living room and master bedroom done). Now it was expensive, but the customer service and the care and consideration they offer was worth the money in my opinion. They cared about me and made sure I was happy. DO NOT USE THESE IDIOTS....I went there for carpet and they came out and measured and then came and installed.They DO NOT know how to measure carpet,when they finished I had a 12x14 piece of carpet left over that I was charged for(enough carpet to floor a average sized bedroom).I was over charged at least $300 and was stuck with the carpet with no refund and they did the measurements.This happened quite awhile ago and I will never get over it.I do everything I can to ruin them.I have costed them thousands of dollars by deterring people to other flooring stores when they mention using RBC...This is your warning!!! read more

Has to be one of the worst customer experiences I've ever had, hands down. Our installers came today to install, and they were fine, nice gentlemen. However, the color didn't seem to match what we picked out, so we brought it to their attention. We even said if this is indeed it, and it just looks different installed, under the lighting, or whatever, that's fine, lesson learned... They said they confirmed with their folks at the warehouse that the incorrect carpet was shipped. David, our sales rep, called and said they could order the right carpet on Monday and we said we'd come by to make sure we were all on the same page. He even told us the numbers were transposed on the order over the phone. When we got there, he un-apologetically told us that it was indeed the right carpet, and they verified at the warehouse. Wait, what? You just told us on the phone that a mistake was made, and the right carpet had to be ordered. So now we had to re-schedule an installation date for the second room. I told him today was fine, and he said he didn't have anyone. My wife asked what could be done to remedy some of our inconvenience (stuff taken out of rooms, drove to Madison from Hampton Cove with no notice), and he says nothing, we had the right carpet there. Get your story straight! Maybe if you want cheap carpet, these guys are it, but don't expect any level of customer service whatsoever. read more

They broke my sons banister & didn't say anything. Not just a railing screwed to a wall, a very nice banister with spindles & styles & polished oak. Really broke it badly when they threw the old carpet down the stairs. When we went to check on them, they were done & ready to leave. The shitheads never said a word about the damage. We went to the store with pictures & they totally blew us off, said it wasn't them that did it. I was suppose to have someone come out and do a measurement to see what the cost would be for an estimate on putting floors in and re carpeting my stairs. My window appointment was from 1-3 pm. Today an employee at Rock Bottom Carpets assaulted my mother and my sister while they were inquiring about a claim we filed recently after having our kitchen floor redone by this company. When the cops arrived, this employee and two other employees who witnessed the entire incident denied everything that happened, as expected. Regardless, a police report was filed and we will now be filing a criminal assault charge against this employee and a civil charge against the warranty they refuse the honor on the work that was done at our home. The extremely low quality work that was performed in the first place is completely irrelevant. I want to let anyone in or near Huntsville, Alabama to think twice before ever giving this company their business. My mom and sister are fine. In this day and age, it is not a complete shocker that minorities such as ourselves would experience something like this, especially in the deep south. read more

Everything was fine until it was time to do the work. We wanted vinyl flooring removed and replaced and communicated from the beginning that there were several layers to be removed. Andy said no problem and we ordered the vinyl and waited a week for the measuring. After measure they said it would be a little more expensive, which isn't unreasonable. However, a week later when the crew came to install, they flat out refused to do the work due to possible damage to the sub-floor. They had a solution to sub-floor damage, but would not do it. They only offered to put the vinyl down on top of the 4-5 other layers and cut the bottom of the doors. So now I've wasted 2 weeks when I could've found somebody else to do it. Extremely frustrated by the lack of communication between sales, measuring crew, and demo/install crews. Now I own some useless vinyl since they refused to refund me. read more

Be advised that any service done by this company is under no warranty, and they do not guarantee the quality of work. In fact, they force you into a binding arbitration agreement, because they have been sued previously for their poor craftsmanship. LATE LATE LATE! 1.5 hrs late, sat in their van for 15mins after getting here. Grabbed the WRONG padding, so they left at 12:30 to grab lunch & the correct padding. At this point, 12:30 they've only put one padding down (which had to be pulled out because of it being the wrong one) so as of 12:30 nothing has really been done. We even moved 80% of the furniture for them so it wouldn't take as long... But obviously it didn't help at all!! read more

This was and still is a HORRIBLE experience and an example of how not to treat people. Between the sales staff, the installation staff, and the members of management, each part of the process I was disrespected. They were 1 to 3 hours late for every appointment that was set up and over a month later they still have not provided me with any documentation related to financing. The first question the installer asked me when he walked in my house 3 hours late was "Are you married?", sang religious songs while there, and the last question he asked me before he left was "Why or what is it that makes you attracted to black men?". When I wrote an email and requested a manager call me about my concerns he told me I was "dragging on like a nagging bitch" and told to "hire a damn good lawyer". They are refusing to provide me any documentation about who the project was financed through, they refused to apologize for being late or for the sexist, religious based, or racist related statements or behavior. If I could score the service I received accurately it would be below zero. read more

When you place an order with Rock Bottom Carpets, they only take cash, check, or debit card. They do NOT take credit cards. I placed an order and was required to provide a 50% deposit on the estimated total cost. Their policy is no refund if the order is accepted after measurements are taken. I decided to not accept and cancelled the order. They are refusing to refund my deposit until after 10 business days. This would be understandable if they used the normal route of depositing the check in their bank account and waited on the clearance process but in my case they personally went to my bank and cashed the check I gave them. They have the funds but are still insisting on waiting the 10 business days to refund my deposit. This is bad business practice and poor customer support. I will never do business with them again and advise anyone else they beware when doing business with them. Follow up: I found out the business uses the same credit union as I do, so when they deposited my check into their account it was immediately withdrawn from my account. I stand by my claim they had obtained the funds on the day I made the deposit. After receiving the complaint today, July 20, 2015, 3 days after my review, I received a harassing call from someone claiming to be the CEO of the company. He was very agitated and displeased that I had filed a complaint on Rock Bottom Carpets. The call to me was not to discuss the matter because he wouldn't let me complete any statements during the conversation. The call lasted 11 minutes where he continually chided me going so far as to repeatedly calling me a liar for saying he cashed my check. He even said he would have considered reimbursing me sooner but since I filed the complaint I would have to wait 10 days to receive my refund. The fact is funds were transferred from my account to the company's account and since no material had been ordered nothing of the deposit had been disbursed; therefore, he has the ability to refund my deposit today but instead is insisting on holding my deposit for 10 days even though there was no hold time placed by the credit union on the availability of the funds. It now appears he is sticking to his policy not to ensure my check clears but in retaliation for filing a complaint. His actions today ensures Rock Bottom Carpets will not receive any business from me in the future. read more

I would not give rock-bottom carpet one star because their quality of work truly is Rockbottom I had flooring put down and it's separating and they don't know that I know that the reason why the flooring is moving is because of the padding that they put down. Now they did come and try and repair it and told the workers to hot glue it in areas that needed repair and then they said it was my fault. I contacted them several times and went into the store and they waited to the warranty ran out . I paid a lot of money to gave this floor put down and they should have replace the hold thing because I heard that this had happened in other houses in my neighborhood and furthermore when they were putting the flooring down they were supposed to bring the flooring in at least three days before they actually put it down and they never did that I will never ever do business with them again and would never recommend them. read more

Awful. As a matter of fact, they sold me too much carpet on purpose. I was going to let Home Depot install my carpet. So I paid Home Depot to measure my home for carpet install. I decided to shop around before I purchased the carpet from Home Depot and end up at 'Rock Bottom Carpet'. Rock Bottom Carpet sold Mohawk Carpet with the smart strand technology so I decided to purchase it. I told the sales associate that Home Depot measured my home I gave them the results of the measurement conducted by Home Depot. I Also informed them that I wanted one less room to have carpet installed. The sales associate told me they had to send their own person out to measure and they did. After the Rock Bottom Measure my home, I was informed that Home Depot's measurement was off about 30 feet. less then what was needed. I told the sales associate that's not possible for my home to need more because Home Depot measure three bedrooms and my bonus room. They measured two bedrooms and the cat walk, which is smaller then the bedroom Home Depot measured. The sale associate said more carpet was needed because of the way they needed to conduct the install. To shorten the story, the installer left had more then two 10 x 10 rooms of carpet left and a whole role of padding left after the install. The installer gets paid by how much carpet he lay. When he saw that there was too much carpet for my home, he began cutting the carpet in a manner to make it seem like he needed all of it. Tomorrow I'm taking all the carpet and the padding back and demand a refund for the waste. Their a bunch a thieves. read more

I will never use them again. Not only did they knowingly send a sick man to my house (he vomited RIGHT IN MY FRONT FLOWER BED!) My husband had to help move the carpet in and out of the house and move the furniture, which I was told moving furniture was only a courtesy and that was after the fact fyi and they left a mess of left over carpet in my bathroom and the tub?!?!. The manager told us, "well the job he did was good,right?" BUT YOU SENT A SICK MAN TO MY HOUSE,ALONE. We got nothing,a run around apology was pretty much it and an offer for a discount on future need, UMMMMM,NO. I will never use them again,my husband did half the work and,the installer(sub contractor) was very nice,yet he was sent to do a job even though he was sick and the manager was rude. VERY UNSATISFIED CUSTOMER - We recently purchased Vinyl and Carpet from Rock Bottom Carpets and like the name reflects, EVERYTHING you get is ROCK BOTTOM. There is no professionalism within this company. We had the displeasure of working with Mark and BO. When the installer showed up, he brought his two kids with him. We are guessing about 14-15 years old. They were constantly taking "smoke breaks" and flicking cigarettes all over our property. At one time the son was heard saying "DAD, I cut it too short". The bedroom was 11x11 and he cut it too short which left a big ugly seam, improperly done, about 4" in from the entrance to the bedroom, in a very high traffic area. There is no reason for an 11x11 room to have any seams !!! The installers daughter was sitting in a small closet installing the carpet and she ripped a shelving support right out of the sheetrock, toggle and all !!! NOTHING WAS EVER SAID, nor was it fixed. My wife said nothing at the time because she was there alone and felt very uncomfortable having this "so called installation team" on the property. Once the team left, she took pictures of the shoddy workmanship. We paid to have a new toilet installed and quarter round put in the rooms with vinyl. The toilet was not properly installed with one screw not even making contact with toilet flange. The little caps that cover the screws were filled completely with the remains of a 25 year old wax toilet ring. The installer, instead of cutting the bolts so the caps would fit, stuff the dirty old wax of the old toilet ring into the caps to hold them onto the screws !!! AMAZINGLY stupid and lazy !!! The quarter round installation................a child could have done better with a butter knife !!! One piece of quarter round was ACTUALLY STAPLED TO A FIBERGLASS BATHTUB !!! Now back to the pictures taken, we sent the pictures to the sales manager the next day and explicitly stated that we DID NOT want the same crew in the house fixing all the problems they created. The installation manager never called to see what our problems was or offer any resolution. The day of installation, THE SAME CREW COMES ONTO OUR PROPERTY, and they came to fix the shoddy work with an ATTITUDE and very unprofessional. The installation manager then called and IMMEDIATELY was confrontational, degrading, and very disrespectul of the customer. It was disrespect that you would not show your worse enemy, let alone a customer. Thats a fact !!! He then said he would send another crew but "THE CREW WOULD BE SENT ON HIS TIME". We had already missed 2 days of work, did not get what we paid for, and now the MANAGER cops an attitude saying we have to work to HIS SCHEDULE ?!?!? This is a summary of our experience with Rock Bottom Carpet. Lots of the exchanges with Rock Bottom really cannot be listed in this post.
