This is the second Pain Management practice I've been to in Rochester and it's just awful. For some…read morereason it came highly recommended (Dr. Nemani did, but I was never allowed to schedule with him. Only Sarah, the Physicians Assistant I think, and Dr. Ng for injections). The staff is rude and incompetent. They treat you as though you're interrupting them instead of helping you schedule, check in/out, etc. The wait time is always excessive, even when you arrive early (I've had between 10-20 appts here and have never waited less than 20 minutes from my scheduled time just to get into an exam room). At my initial visit I explained that I was dissatisfied with my previous Pain Mgmt Dr because all he did was administer injections after injections, that were of little to no relief. Dr. Ng's solution was more injections. When I came in for the appt., after waiting almost 40 minutes I was finally taken to the procedure room with Dr. Ng and an Assistant/Nurse (not sure what her title was, but she was actually very sweet and supportive). As he asked about my specific issues, without warning he stuck me in the neck 6 times with needles. When he was done (even though I hadn't answered his question yet) he told me the Assistant would help me and he walked out. He was in the room a total of 90 seconds at the most. After a serious of failed injections, failed medications, failed physical therapy and a worsening condition, they finally admitted they had no idea what was wrong or how to help and referred me to a neurosurgeon (that also didn't help). I also received a TENS unit as part of my treatment through this office. It was a big help except I had to buy my own replacement pads (which I was told would be provided monthly) and when it malfunctioned it took a months worth of calls to the office, the local reps and the corporate office. Still no resolution. I shouldn't be surprised, when they set the appt for me to pick up the unit they set it at their Culver office. I showed up 15 minutes early and the office was closed. The rep was in the hallway and we had to do the appt right there. SUPER PROFESSIONAL!

This review is over a year in the making. When I first met Mike I told him I wanted to review him…read moreon Yelp. I mean really, where else would you turn for fair and honest client centered reviews? Like all men though, he had to come to the idea in his own good time... Not on the advice of a woman. So when he finally updated this Yelp profile to reflect his current address and information he asked me if I would leave the review. A little about me and how I got "broken" leading me to Mike... I've been in. EMS for 28 years. That's 28 years of abuse on my body picking up sick people, carrying them out of buildings on non-ergonomically friendly contraptions, riding in ambulances and generally being not so good to myself. On average I would say every EMS worker suffers some form of an injury at least once or twice a year, be it back injury or otherwise. It's just the nature of the job. I was in an ambulance wreck about 10 years ago, where I was thrown from the back of the ambulance to the front, landing on the controls of the siren. Additionally, I had a VERY traumatic epidural placement during my c-section t the age of 41, with multiple punctures to the lumbar region, a gigantic hematoma over the site, and scar tissue formation. I have seen multiple chiropractors, craniotomy-sacral therapists, pain management clinics, and of course, massage therapists. A wise chiropractor knows that their work is complimented with other therapies, and thus, a referral was made to Mike. I began seeing him about 18 months ago, when my neck and back were particularly bad. I had been seeing a massage therapist once a week for almost a year and had come to the end of my progress with her. Mike treats my condition with a combination of manual therapy and traditional massage. He listens to me, incorporating my thoughts on treatment with his expertise. He was open to the idea of trying a CBD topical treatment into my massage when I brought it in and has subsequently incorporated it into his everyday practice. I can't tell you all of the exact techniques he uses, but suffice it to say he has tried a wealth of options on me. His primary focus has been my neck, but he has also worked on problem spots, such as my thumb when I have been a little too vigorous on the texting. There isn't a problem that I have brought to him that he has been unable to help. However, he has been respectful of my boundaries, as I have been unwilling to allow him to work on the incurred scar tissue in my lumbar back from the epidurals. Mike is a therapist that really listens to you and your desired outcome. Yeah, sure, a case could be made for the outcome to always be less pain, but sometimes it is greater flexibility or increased range of motion, both of which I have asked of him and he has been able to deliver. If I could give one piece of information to new clients, he is not a relaxation massage therapist. While he CAN do it, you'd be wasting his talent for problem solving and delivering excellent, focused care. I wish I had found him 10 years ago when I was first in the accident! Feel free to message me for specific questions!

Mike Riley listened to me and asked questions to pinpoint exactly where my pain was. My headaches were gone after 2 sessions and my neck and shoulder pain have decreased tenfold. Mike makes me feel very comfortable and takes the time to explain what he will be doing and why. I recommend anyone with acute or chronic pain make an appointment with Mike, you won't be disappointed.

I came to see Dr. Mark D' Souza originally about my long term chronic pain after speaking we came up with a plan for me to go off my current medication and be put on something completely different But before I could start the new medication I had to be completely clean of it from my system! Well after being on a very high dose of narcotics for over 15 years that didn't really work good for the pain I honestly didn't know what I was getting myself into, but I can say luckily the withdrawals from my medication was the worst part of my experience and even that wasn't as bad as I thought! After changing my medication my pain has gotten better, I slept through the night for the first time in 15 years which alone I could of kissed Dr. Mark D'Souza for you don't know how cranky a person can get when they have had a good night sleep in over 15 years! Lol These doctors actually listened to me they didn't think I was crazy and they understood I was talking about which in-turn they have given me a big part of my life back by helping me get relief!
