Rolled into MadMen Williston Park with my Brother and Stepson today. We were all looking pretty…read moreshaggy and in dire need of haircuts. I've been wanting to try this place for quite sometime but with the Covid shutdown and then the tight rules after it wasn't happening. As restrictions eased and we started looking like we'd been trapped in the island with Tom Hanks and Wilson, the time had come to go. So Saturday morning the three of us drove over not knowing what to expect. Walking in we were greeted by all the staff and were very pleased to find there was an empty chair right away. Not wanting him to feel neglected, we tossed my son out there and had him be the first in the chair. My Brother was next to go and before I could enjoy the soft leather of the waiting area's chairs, I was up and sitting in one of the coolest barber chairs I'd ever sat in. Now I'm not a small guy, I stand 6'5" and am pushing nearly 380 but I was quite comfortable in this chair. My barber was Arian and I've seen him in a few of the posts on Instagram. Really like what I've already seen. I explained that I've been basically buzzing my hair myself for quite sometime but along with a beard shaping to a goatee and a shave, that I was looking to change things up. I told him I trust his judgement and away we went. I could not have been happier with the results!! The cut my son got was truly spot on. And though he pretty much got the same style that he's had for years it was done with such precision that he looked totally different. Sharper. Better than his old place by leaps and bounds. My Brother explained that he's had the same style for over 30 years and wanted something different. What he got floored us all! The ladies back home spent the day complimenting his new look and he was pretty happy with it. So all in all this was an amazing experience for us all. The decor is awesome and just keep looking around at what you may spot. I especially liked the poster of Michael Caine from the film "Get Carter" hanging up high! Prices were quite decent especially for the quality of work these artists performed on us. We will be returning and if you've read this far, I recommend you give them a try as well. I doubt you'll be disappointed.

He takes walk-ins, and also takes appointments, which is perfect for me when trying to squeeze in a haircut before work! First…read moreoff, if anyone knew Rudy - he was a kind man and I think it was very nice to name the Barbershop in memory of him! Secondly, if you want a great haircut - go see Leo, Mike, and his son Manny. Leo and his son Manny certainly have talent and know the craftsmanship of a Barber. I won't let anyone cut my hair and have a close sharp shaving knife to my throat unless it's Leo or Manny. For 25 years I have left the barbershop looking like a new man! Mike and Leo always like to joke about how I am going to get the ladies after my new haircut, funny enough - I sure do!!! (My girlfriend that is!). Third, the prices are very reasonable and for the artistic nature of cutting hair like these guys do - I wouldn't hesitate to give these guys my money! Lastly, the atmosphere is like your old fashioned barbershop with the seats, mirrors, wood floors but with a modern twist to it. The place is clean, and clean is always good. If you have made it this far to my review or are just skipping to the final verdict: Rudy's Studio One Barbershop is 5 STARS for its Honest, Loyal, and Hardworking craftsmen & their warming environment of making you feel like your at home!

However, my only complaint for the staff is that they don't follow directions properly or carefully. They even ask me if they want any part of my face to be waxed. Ever since this incident occurred, it's been getting a little annoying. The flyer doesn't even tell you how much the waxing is going to cost per part (and that's how they get you) of the face but most likely it's $15-$20. Also, I asked them nicely to trim my hair only on the sides and DO NOT trim on the top and what do they do? They trimmed the top. I wanted to keep my curls on the top because my girlfriend loves them and I do too, but I guess maybe I wasn't clear to them or they couldn't understand English very well. They do this several times, but I can't complain because my hair is at least clean, but I didn't get the haircut that I asked for for months to come:/ They need to get their act together... or I might find another barber.

I actually went to a NJ guy for months and thought he was good, but i was keeping my hair short and all he did was buzz it. 1st time I asked this highly rated (on yelp) NJ barber to cut my hair with scissors, I was done- worst haircut of my life like he never used scissors before in his life.
