Good gelatos. A variety of toppings. But out of a machine so soft-serve style. Tasty, but thats the only format they have (have a mango & strawberry sherbet as well). At ~€5 for the smallest size, it's a bit more than typical ice cream but atypical toppings give that 'artisan feel'.

Once I was in this highly anticipated ice cream spot I wasn't so convinced somehow but once I tasted their ice cream I was really happy with their consistency and flavor.

A must when in Girona! Jordi Roca really knocked it out of the park with this place. Creamy oce cream wide array of toppings, and fantastic service. Will be back again, again, and again!

Super refreshing sorbet that provided a slight reprieve from Girona's 36 Celsius temperature! I ordered the cherry with elderberry and the watermelon sorbets. The watermelon was my favorite. It was bursting with flavor and made me wish I just ordered 2 scoops of it haha. For you GoT lovers, they also have an edible gold Jaime Lannister hand here!

Delicious interesting flavors and friendly service by the young lady behind the counter :)

"There's no love more sincere than love for ice cream" - @rrrocambolesc Leaving Girona felt better knowing that this gem is also back in BCN Created by @jordirocasan & his brothers, this artisanal gelato shop can sweep you right off your feet with their rare flavors + toppings. We're talking Baked Apple flavor, Lime and Pineapple topping, Honey Rocks, Sesame Bits... you get the gist. * Vanilla & Baked Apple ice cream w/ Merengue, Strawberry Bits, Butter Cookies * Next time, we're coming back for their ice cream sandwich made fresh-to-order at the store!! *Follow my food IG for more reviews! @internationalfoodieclub*

This place is amazing, another level. You need to try to understand what I'm saying, this is not a normal ice cream shop, this is the Ice cream shop.

Best Gelato I've had, went here three times during our trip to Girona. It's a dessert shop brain child of the 3 Michelin star chef/restaurant El Celler de Can Roca My first visit I tried the GOT Inspired golden hand of Jaime, the flavor was blood orange and mango. Very refreshing and left a golden dusting on my lips. Second trip I got the chocolate gelato topped with chocolate nibs, brownie, chocolate sauce, with added candied sesame seeds and candied hazelnuts. Now it might sound really sweet but no it wasn't it was perfect. The gelato was a smooth dark chocolate, and the toppings was not overly sweet. Third trip tried the baked apple gelato on a cone with caramel nibs, butter cookies, candy floss. the gelato tasted like creamy smooth baked apple again not overly sweet even with the toppings. They also offer frozen yogurt which my sister loved with fresh strawberry and pineapple, and the Sobet was good as well my mom loved the strawberry hibiscus. IF you visit Girona this is a must try, just a warning they have price that is gelato only or with 3 toppings, if you add additional toppings it's additional charge per.

Unique, delicious, and worth a detour. Inventive flavor combinations and creative toppings. My coconut lavender "sorbet" was creamy and decadent, and complemented well by the fresh strawberries, honey crunch, and marshmallow that the server recommended go with it.

What did the newspaper say to the ice cream? What's the scoop! Who doesn't love ice cream? Who didn't day dream as a child about Willy Wonka's candy lane? Well day dream no more - a Willy Wonka ice cream shop. We spent a day in Girona, wandering around the old streets and climbing the many steps around the city. We did an afternoon stop at Rocambolesc - the famous and wonderfully delicious ice cream shop! Choices, Oh Choices. If I could only take one of everything. Or I wish the public wouldn't judge you if you had an ice cream cone, popsicle stick and sandwich in your hand. Ah the judging eyes of over indulging on ice cream. I settle on a cone - filled with frozen yogurt creamy goodness, topped with strawberries, caramel crunch pieces and shortbread cookies. Amazing. My hubby had a better choice. He got a mixture of apple ice cream, caramelized apples, caramel and caramel pieces filled inside the delicious doughy warm sandwich. It was definitely the better option but both were amazing. If you are in Girona, go here. It is lovely and like an adult version of a kid candy shop. Awesome.

If you are ever in Girona, and want to go for ice cream, this is the place to try. This is the dessert spin-off from the restaurant El Celler de Can Roca, which has been consistently ranked among the best restaurants in the world. You can build your own ice cream/topping combinations, but we decided to go with the fun candy floss, caramel ice cream arrangement and mango/blood orange popsicle inspired by the game of thrones. Overall verdict: The flavours, presentation, service, and willy wonka-esque atmosphere was all top notch. Couldn't ask for more from an ice cream shop.

Watermelon Lemon Sorbet with Blueberry and Strawberry

Really really good ice cream. They only have a few flavors per day which probably helps moves things along quicker but have tons of toppings. I ordered the Watermelon and Lemon Sorbet with Strawberry and Blueberry toppings and it was extremely good. It is not icy at all like a sorbet but is more creamy like gelato. I could taste a little bit of the watermelon but the sour from the lemon kind of dominated for the most part. The fresh fruit also added a great touch. I would say that if it is a hot day, it is best to cool down with a sorbet from this place! It is quite expensive and the line can get absolutely crazy - we waited nearly 30 minutes to get ice cream and were nearly late for our tour. This is not just beacuse the place is popular but because the service is a little slow. Overall, though, if you are in Girona for the day, this is a must try place.

My first gelato in Spain...I was not disappointed! I was hoping to try the turrón gelato but they were out. The chocolate flavor was delicious. I should've ordered a small size because it was too rich for my tummy.

English Absolutely Horrible Experience - Avoid This Place…read more I rarely write negative reviews, but this was beyond unacceptable. My family and I (including two small children) purchased ice cream from this store and sat down to enjoy it. We also had a pastry from a nearby shop with us. Moments later, the owner came out and very aggressively told us we couldn't sit there unless we bought something--which we had. I calmly explained we had purchased from her store, even offered to spend another €20 to avoid any issue, but she continued to raise her voice, curse in front of the children, and make rude, vulgar remarks toward our group. When confronted about her language, she flat-out lied, despite it being witnessed. The whole situation was handled with hostility and zero professionalism. My daughter was left in tears and frightened. No one--especially children--should be subjected to that kind of behavior from someone in the service industry. There are plenty of other ice cream shops with excellent products and far better customer service. I highly recommend avoiding this place. No dessert is worth that kind of treatment Spanish Experiencia Horrible - No Recomiendo Este Lugar Rara vez escribo reseñas negativas, pero esta experiencia fue totalmente inaceptable. I wrote it In three different languages bc the experience was so bad.

The shop assistant or owner (not sure) attitude was incredibly off-putting--someone with that demeanor should not be running or working at a business that serves families and tourists looking for a pleasant experience. The story begins not with a dish, but with a timeline you can eat, charting the ascent of three siblings from humble familial duty to culinary transcendence. You do not "dine" here. You witness a narrative of obsession, transformation, and fate--the kind that only arises when blood ties are mixed with butter, fire, and an unbearable drive for excellence. The youngest of the three, a pastry chef, emerges like a trickster figure from folklore, sweetening the end of the journey with a sense of mischief and melancholy. His takeover of the narrative is not declared; it is felt, as a shift in temperature, in tone, in destiny. The food--what can I say? Each course is like a quiet revelation, as if the universe momentarily aligned to allow perfection, then moved on, uncaring. There is no comfort here, only beauty that leaves you slightly devastated. The architecture of the space is austere but luminous, a kind of sacred geometry. The ceramics and silverware are ritualistic tools, not mere vessels. They suggest a world in which aesthetics are a moral responsibility--as if to serve food without beauty would be a sin against nature itself. To eat here is to be reminded that all creation is fleeting, that excellence is a burden, and that even in triumph, there is solitude.

For those not interested in the details, the quick summary of this place is: mediocre food and…read moreservice for a 3 starred Michelin restaurant, served one member of our party a piece of ceramic (choking hazard) and did not adequately remediate the issue, and gave 3 of 6 of our party members stomach problems after dinner. Save your money and a trip to Girona if you're going from Barcelona and go to Cocina Hermanos Torres, a restaurant that truly lives up to the 3 Michelin star reputation. Here is the detailed account of our experience at El Celler: I dined at this restaurant with a party of 6 on the 20th of May. One of the people in my party had the misfortune of finding shards of what appeared to be ceramic from one of the plates as she was eating. She found them while eating the food and had to spit them out and place the pieces on the side. She notified the waiter that picked up the plates about the pieces of ceramic, and unfortunately, only received a "sorry for that" as a reply, with no other gesture of apology provided by anyone else the rest of the night. Given their reputation as a 3 Michelin starred restaurant, not only is the presence of the ceramic pieces in the food appalling, but the nonchalant attitude towards the incident afterward was extremely disappointing. While we certainly did not expect the restaurant to compensate her meal, a small token or gesture in the form of a small discount, free beverage, replacement plate, anything, would have been greatly appreciated. This is far from what we expect from a Michelin establishment given our experience at a variety of other restaurants of similar caliber we have dined at, and cannot overstate how alarming it is that a choking hazard can make it past quality control and nothing is done to repair the situation even after politely bringing it to the staff's attention. The most impressive part of the night was the cheap taxi we took back to Barcelona. Okay, fine, the dessert part of the meal was fun and delicious, so maybe that was the most impressive, but followed closely by the taxi. Below are other details where El Celler completely missed: - Bread taken away from one of our party members without asking if they were done - No folding or replacement of napkins when someone left their seat - Being rushed at the end of dinner for seemingly no reason as there were other patrons eating that we could see and working through dessert courses we had already finished - Not asked to check in a coat, and instead given a random chair next to our table to throw our stuff on it - Uncomfortably warm temperature - Not everyone having their chair pulled out and pushed in - Seeing other people just standing around and not escorting our party to the bathroom or being helpful in other ways - Gave 3 of 6 members of our party stomach aches and loose bowels after dinner Admittedly, some of the above can sound nitpicky, however, this meal stands in a stark contrast to a meal we had the very next day at another 3 Michelin star restaurant, Cocina Hermanos Torres. Better in every way, they outclassed El Celler and provided food and service above and beyond what I've come to expect. Every single issue I had with El Celler was not present at Hermanos Torres, and did the opposite of what El Celler did to make our experience comfortable and exceptional. I am not sure El Celler is worthy of a single Michelin star, and definitely not three. And if it seems like I'm repeating the same point, this is still less repetitive than the number of times they told us one of their dishes contained a sauce made with the head of a langostino. You might also be wondering if I tried providing feedback to El Celler on this. I did, and not because they requested it via an email follow up like I have seen other restaurants do, rather, through the contact email on their website that same night. No response from them yet, which doesn't surprise me considering the apathy demonstrated throughout the ordeal.

We asked our hotel for recommendations, unfortunately a lot of places were closed due to prior week's flower festival. Luckily our awesome hotel concierge was able to book a last minute reservation for us at Massana. We had no expectations walking in, except knowing the fact that it has one Michelin. It BLEW our mind. Every single dish was perfectly executed, with the perfect balance of flavors and texture. My favorites were eel, duck, and lamb. Eel was perfectly cooked and on top of a layer of pork belly - it literally melted in your mouth. So was the duck breast - thinly sliced, complimented by some pickled shallots, it was simply perfection. And just when I thought the night couldn't get any better, the waiter brought out lamb shoulders. It's the part of animal that works hard, so full of flavors but usually not easiest to cook. Here, it was once again cooked to perfection - unbelievably tender and exploded in your mouth with flavors. The meal ended with two amazing desserts, one tart and one sweet. Perfect ending to an amazing dinner. Service was also impeccable, with great local wine recommendations to compliment our meal throughout. Coming from New York, I think Massana could easily compare to any three Michelin star restaurants we've been to in the city, if not better. And with only one third of the price. So if you are in girona and couldn't get into the roca brothers restaurant, come here, you can thank me later.
