Their tools were clean and so was the entire salon. This was my first manicure since I was 14 years old and I am now 28 so yes it has been a very long time. LOL! I was very happy with how my manicure turned out. The colours I picked were called Emerald lights and sir teal to you. These two colours gave my nails a sort of mermaid look which I absolutely love! I got mediocre service but it was the only place I knew. The last time I went I got a pedicure and the lady used those foot scrappers. The scapper was clearly broken but she kept attempting to use it on me. Then it cut a big junk of skin out of my heel and I started to bleed everywhere. They did not have proper first aid supplies to bandage me up. And only God knows if and how they sterilized that tool afterwards. Also it was my birthday the next day and I had a part To make matters even worse, when I went to pay the lady knowing fully well what had happen tried to charge me full price. I said "but you cut my foot" she like oh okay $5 off. Honestly I should have gotten it for free but I was in a rush as my friend from Toronto just came in and waited for me. We had sat waiting for our toe polish to dry for 3-dryer sequences (as we were instructed) and afterwards one of the estheticians wrapped our feet in saran wrap and brought us our socks and boots. It did seem to be a rather quick time for polish to dry, but I trusted that the esthetician would most likely know better- assuming she had done this numerous times. After making the 20 minute drive home, my daughter and I both took of our boots/shoes to check the pedicure, and unfortunately all toes were smudged with larger chips from the tops of the toe nails. It was quite unpleasing to the eye and very disappointing considering I paid $75.00 each + tip. Understanding that these things do happen, I called and explained that the situation and rescheduled a touch up on November 7th. When we arrived the second time, we were told to find our nail color and then we waited for the estheticians to become available. One came out and told us to come to the spa chairs. I had mentioned to her that I was sorry that we had to return for the second time and she muttered under her breath "well, I'm sorry it smudged", sarcastically. I was surprised at her reaction, but tried not to read too much into it. We did not have the same two estheticians, as the one my daughter had originally was with another client. I had the same one. Neither smiled once throughout the entire polish nor made any attempt to speak with us. Their demeanor and body language was extremely negative and it was obvious that they were annoyed to be doing a touch up. My daughter's esthetician did not even remove most of the polish that was on previously and merely rubbed off the smudged part and slopped a bunch more coats back on to cover. They put us under the dryer and left us there, again for 3 dry sequences. Which was surprising considering 3 dry sequences wasn't adequate time in the first appointment. We sat for over 4 dry sequences when we decided that we would leave. No one came to check on us or speak with us this entire time, but the two girls could be heard chit chatting in the hallway. We starting putting on our shoes and one girl came in to help take off the foam sandals. My daughter wanted to keep the foam sandals on to prevent any possible scuffs; however her esthetician had put the sandals on the wrong feet. My daughter told the girl this and she chuckled before leaving the room and telling her friend (the other esthetician). After this interaction, the two girls laughed hysterically in the hallway until we got up and walked by to leave. Even then, they were suppressing laughter to the point that they could hardly mutter out a "good-bye". As we grabbed our jackets and things, the two girls could still be seen watching us, talking and laughing in the hallway. No one saw us to the exit or granted us any acknowledgment of leaving. Looking back, the entire experience was extremely unprofessional, unsympathetic and a costly waste of time. Even the second time around the pedicures were mediocre at best, which makes me want to puke considering (again) I paid $75.00 each for them AND went back a second time. It only adds insult to injury that the estheticians were annoyed and unfriendly.

The salon is clean, bright, and organized nicely in a row. I love nail spots like this where you can sit next to your friend, rather than the ones where you can't sit together and you're at more spread out stations. I didn't need anything special. I was in a bind and needed my Shellac polish removed. In many other places this is something that can cost way more than it should, but I was so thankful to find that it was only $7.00 here. Perfect. Totally reasonable. It was a Saturday, and I was expecting to have to wait since I didn't have an appointment, but to my (very pleasant) surprise, they were able to see me right away. My visit was quick, cost effective, and efficient. I would go back again if I'm in the area, for sure!

I've been to Daya Spa twice…read more It has cute decor, and a very relaxing atmosphere, for both the waiting area and the rooms. The first time at Daya Spa, I booked a massage with the rmt there. I was happy she gave me the full 50min massage, even though I arrived about 10 min late. Ali was friendly and listened carefully to me, and so I felt comfortable speaking to her about my pain areas. I liked the fact that she knew how to release my knots, and gave me the strong pressure I needed. I did find that the oils or lotions she used would dry up too quickly, and it would cause her to not glide as easily into my muscles. Ali gave some great advice after my massage was over, she made me feel like she really cared about my wellbeing-- she has customer service down to a tee! My second time there, I went in for a reflexology appointment. Olena was SO good. I loved how relaxed she made me feel, from her soothing voice to the gentleness she used whether she was covering my feet or slowly adding pressure. I would even doze off every now and then due to how heavenly it felt. The only thing that makes me not give Daya Spa 5 stars is the following: I found the front staff a bit cold, not very hospitable both times. Not much eye contact, and no greeting when one walks in-- makes for an awkward and not very welcoming entrance. The front desk lady did offer to get me some water; however, but did not lead me to the sitting area or explain to me that I should change out of my shoes into the warm slippers the spa provides.

Pedicure space is a cool concept for 3-4 people wanting to go together as seating is on a raised bleacher style bench that you clamour up on. For me, this killed a bit of the relaxation component. Most little asian nail spots have massage chairs and charge $40 is all I'm saying... I love the leg massage portion of a pedicure and this one was about a 3/10 ie: weak and not long lasting. Polish was applied neatly although I was ushered out to the waiting room as soon as my pedicure was completed which caused a bit of a smudge. Massage: In a word: heavenly. Also quite pricy and what's with this 50 minute business? A $96 (or whatever it comes to after tax w/o tip) should really last an hour. It's not like you're applying copious amount of extra oil in that last 10 minutes and need to recoup losses. I was a bit bummed when I remembered to mention an area of soreness and was told we could get to that next time... At $110 a pop, I dunno how often I can afford to be heading for these rub downs. Overall, a lovely space and friendly staff but the price is steep enough to keep this local hunting for another go to spa.
