Located on the first floor of the Donaghmede Shopping Centre, Pride and Joy in one those toy shops that specialise in cheap unfashionable toys that would probably be sneered at by the children of today, but would be considered to have great kitsch value by nostalgic twenteens. You know the type of shitty toys that you got as kid: plastic bow and arrows, toy guns that light up and make a noise, non-brand name dolls that would be looked down upon by the recipient for not being a Baby-Born. Very un-PC, guns for little boys and dollies for little girls, isn't it? That's what makes this shop so charming: the absolute sense of being stuck in a time warp the moment you enter the store. The most modern item I saw in the window was a micro-scooter (at least 10 years since those were en vouge), which next to a display of Power Rangers (surely they haven't been made in years). Absolutely worth a visit.

I love bringing the kids here as they still stock a big range of pocket money toys and have a great range of arts and crafts.They also do all the trading cards,puffles and club penguin.So it does'nt cost to much when we visit. Pavilions does have some decent shops. They've got a really big TK Maxx, a tiny Zara and a reasonable-ish sized H&M. There's only two places to sit down and have a cup of coffee, though: a Starbucks (always shite) and another horrible and over-priced café which may or may not be a Kay's Kitchen, but it's definitely in a similar vein. There's a Movies@ cinema there as well which I've not been to (nor am I likely to do so) as Pavilions is pretty much impossible to reach if you don't have a car. Not my first choice when attending to my shopping needs, but you may have gathered that already.

Living in North Dublin I sometimes don't wanna head into town and fight the crowds to go to Penneys on O'Connell or Mary Street (I don't drive either) or when I need to get something from Argos. Pavilions is a nice alternate and I can get here in about 15 minutes (by bus). There are a few other standout stores I like here. I've mentioned Penneys and Argos. Aside from those I also really love the Boots here. It's a big Boots store and they've got a good selection of health and beauty stuff that some of the smaller Boots pharmacies won't carry. There is also a large McCabe's Pharmacy as well. There is a Kilkenny Gift Shop, which has Irish made gifts and handcrafts. It's a bit pricey, but if you're looking for something Irish made of high quality this is a great store. There are a few restaurants here, including some fast food types of places and cafes, and some dine in restaurants like Global Burger Kitchen. There is also a cinema, but I've haven't gone to see a movie here yet. Anyway depending on when you go it can be busy, but I haven't been here when it's too crazy. There are a variety of buses that stop just outside the shopping centre (if you don't drive). If you do drive there is a fair amount of parking available.

Kids + birthday parties + lots of chocolate = SUGAR HIGH PROS: 1. You get to decorate your own shamrock! (went the day before St. Paddy's) 2. They let you try different types of chocolate along the way. I think the Butlers Chocolate Experience is geared more towards kids. I would highly recommend going in on a weekday so you can see the factory in action.

I honestly love anything Guiness even if the beer itself is too too strong for my taste. I love watering it down with lemonade or Sprite. It's a nice shandy recipe. Yes, a lot of you may say that it's a sacrilege to treat Guiness this way, but it's the only only way I'll drink beer. It's also very refreshing filled to the brim with ice on a hot summer day.

She hadn't received the order yet but still started to get the flowers ready, wrote the card up and got the flowers sent before the end of business(45 mins later).
