With everything from your Marvels and DCs to your Indie faves and web comic releases they have it all. Most importantly of all there is an excellent selection of Neil Gaiman stuff and quite regularly art based things by Dave McKean. A must visit for any self respecting fan of comics and geek goods. After previously coming into the shop the day before with my autistic son to buy two books we went…read moreback to get another book in the series. We went in and I had two drinks in a cup holder. I wasn't drinking them and was standing at the door so my son could buy his book. To my horror I was ordered out as no drinks allowed. I'm not stupid, I appreciate that no drinks should be allowed near the books (which is why I stood at the door). The fact was, the man was rude and extremely patronising to say the least! I informed him I hadn't seen a sign on the door saying no food or drink to which he responded "there's no sign saying don't put your hands in an electrical socket". OMG so so rude!!! My son was extremely confused and upset. Needless to say I shall not be going in the shop again. Common manners and curtesy goes a long way!!!!!!

I actually don't like this Forbidden Planet store as much as the Derby one and this is due to the…read moresize of this one in comparison to the size of the Derby one. This shop is very small, cramped and does not have as much stock as the Derby forbidden planet. It is still a great store for all your comic, game, sci-fi and action figure needs. They seem to have a good selection and the prices are the same as the other forbidden planet (slightly expensive). This forbidden planet also seems quite dark as well and does not have as many staff as the Derby store. A great thing about this forbidden planet is that they do have some great events on, which i am told are very popular. They include signings, meetups and contests. The Derby forbidden planet does not get these kind of things which is a shame.

They normally have what I need and the prices of things are average. The staff seem to be quite nice and friendly. The shop is easy to access and there are parking spaces outside that are shared between all of the Wolds shops so you can stop off quickly and easily to pick something up. They do a lot of newspaper deliveries from this shop. Sometimes there are a lot of people from the school waiting outside the shop because only a few are allowed in at once.
