Have been shopping in ice nine for years as it always has something that little bit different. From candles, tarot cards, body jewelery and gifts they have all things unusual. They have a small selection of clothes and have some great cards. Situated in the heart of Hockley, Ice Nine is just a short walk from the city centre and stocks what some might call alternative or goth items. I have been shopping here since I was a student in the nineties and it hasn't changed at all since then! It is a huge emporium of alternative kitsch with hippy stuff like henna, candles, incense and jewellery upstairs and the goth and metal stuff downstairs. They usually have some good clothes but it is all just a tad overpriced. Still, as a one stop alternative shopping destination it can't be beaten. Unless you hop on a train down to Camden. read more

A real Nottingham classic , I remember this place when it was in the old shop so many years ago . The great thing is if you liked it then you'd still like it now. Fashions may change , trends may come and go but not in here . The prices aren't good , but they are no worse than you would expect and the range is great . oh wow this shop is jam packed with loads of stuff its like an aladdins cave of trinkets and more. fabulous for gifts they have jewellery crystals ornaments from fairies to skulls and an alternative wardrobe section. i love their mirrors the most though. its based in the pedestrainized area of hockley only a few mins from market square. read more
