CB Dunson, is top notch!!! He was so compassionate to use when Daddy died and even got a picture of a beagle put on Daddy's vault lid and for Moma's he had her dog put on her's plus a great picture that the funeral home used of Moma put on hers. At the grave, he remembered us telling him that Daddy had said if Moma died first he was burying the phone with her, so he put little phones on Moma's name thing that directed people to the grave and then afterwards, he remembered me telling him that Moma was the church prayer chain, it started with her when someone needed prayer and he had little prayer line cards made up in memory of her. Its the little things that they listen to and take action on that make them such a great group of people. I am at the grave alot and not once have they not waved or stopped to speak to me. I would recommend this group to anyone to take care of your loved ones, they don't come any better than CB and his crew. Thanks so much for all you all did for us during our time of grief

They were the ones we used when my Daddy died 21 months ago also and they were just as nice to all of us then. I cannot begin to tell you how the Manager Robert Pinkston just makes you feel like one of the family. They have a wonderful staff there and not one of them made us feel bad. I do not wish death on anyone but if you have to die then you need to let Dillards take care of you, if you live in Pickens SC. We had to change Moma's casket because of her being bigger than the one she picked out, from being sick so long, and they came to the house and went over it with me, instead of me having to go to the funeral home and go out in the rain. Top Notch group of people and I thank God they were there for us during the passing of our Moma.

I was actually really happy with the services we had received from UNTIL arriving to pick up my…read moreDaddy's cremains. He wanted his ashes to be spread. They were told this from the beginning by me specifically. However, his girlfriend still wanted a large urn. No problem. Two days before I am to leave to go pick his ashes up we start having some concerns about making sure they understand that the urn is to have a very small amount. Like the amount you would put in a mini urn (again I specifically told them this and that we had concerns that there may be some funny stuff on certain people's parts. I was ASSURED a majority of his ashes would be packaged for spreading and that very little would go in the urn... when I got there and inquired about exactly how much was in the urn, ainwas told it was full! And that only a small amount had been left to scatter. Somehow (I have my guesses) wires got SERIOUSLY crossed here and I had to stand outside for over an hour while they're packaged my Father's cremains. Yes - I said repackaged. And while I did get an apology from the girl who was there that day, no one else has even bothered to see if I was okay, let alone apologize. And to top it off, they wouldn't even let me take the urn with me once they did repackaged all. They said his girlfriend would need to come pick it up. Even though I am his next of kin, even though I am the one they dealt with (with the exception of signing for them tontake the body and picking out her urn), and even though I am the one who paid for it.

Please ask your family member not to die until you've made an appmnt with Katrina. Our mom passed…read morewe went to the funeral home and then to the cemetery around 12:00 and Katrina "didn't have time for us" that day. Not once was there a "sorry for your loss" or an attempt to make an excuse as to why she couldn't see us then, only a stern "i have five families ahead of you and you will have to come back tomorrow?????? There was not a single person in the office, the tomb had been purchased years ago and the tomb was already flagged. My sister had to cancel her CT scan the following day which pushed back her already scheduled surgery because Katrina was unwilling to take the time to address our needs. The next day there was still no mention of her sorrow for our loss and had we had a choice we would have walked out, but no we were at her mercy and had absolutely no choice but to sit thru her cold, hateful demeanor. In this sort of business one would think that the staff would do whatever it takes to make this sad situation as easy and painless as possible. I called and spoke with the district rep, Darlene, who apologized for Katrina on one hand but then in the next breath explained why she acted as she had. There is NO excuse and I will not ever purchase another tomb or plot from Grand View/Mtn View. We went to her office under the worst possible circumstances, was neither demanding or seeking her sympathy and was absolutely stunned with our reception. We were at a total loss. What option did we have? None. Also their prices are robbery. The tomb had already been purchased years earlier and it cost 895.00 to open and close the tomb!!!!!!! It only cost $100.00 more to dig and then cover a grave than what they charged us to remove four fasteners to open and close a tomb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please don't put your family thru this torture, visit another cemetery that will have a little sympathy, or at least act like they do. The Howard Family

There are two prior reviews on this mortuary that are negative. I feel compelled to not only write…read morean extremely positive review but to try to correct some of the misinformation others stated. From the moment my mother-in law died the staff of the mortuary guided us through the whole process. From telling us to call EMS first, to sending two extremely professional gentlemen to remove the body back to the mortuary, every effort was made to comfort and advise the family and to explain every step in the process. We had long ago decided to cremate our family members and the mortuary guided us through every step in the process. I don't know how many people understand the legalities that must be observed with every death, but especially with a cremation. The coroner has to give permission to release the body to the funeral home when it was a home death. He has to decide that there are no nefarious or illegal circumstances. Then a death certificate must be issued and all,( 100 per cent) of the survivors( spouse and all listed children ) must sign that they agree with the cremation. Someone commented negatively on the costs but the family is given a very clear and explicit listing of the costs charged for every available service. The funeral /and or services can be as expensive and ostentatious as the family desires or as simple and uncomplicated as the family desires, it is absolutely up to the family. Unlike my prior expectations and perceptions there was no pressure to do anything other than what the family wished. We were presented with a very thorough list of available services and allowed to select what we wished. This facility is in almost constant use and really doesn't have the option of closing for renovations for long periods of time. The suggestion that they should move to acquire a bigger lot is almost ludicrous given the way that Greenville is growing and developing. The land the facility sits on is probably extremely valuable there on Augusta Road but it would probably be economic suicide to up and move the mortuary to say ,Five Forks or Travelers rest. The community they serve and the clientele they serve would not be well served by such a move. We would like to commend young Mr. Garrett, and Leah for carrying on the proud legacy left by their parents and commend them for their caring attitude to the grieving families. Thank you Watkins Garrett and Woods Mortuary. The family of Naomi Mozelle Hubert White.
