There is also a set of swings that is separate from the other two. There is a combo of natural mulch on the one part and rubberized mulch that is paved on the other half. Both playsets have multi-tiered areas to play on and under. Monkey bars, climbing walls, several slides and secret fossils and a few service windows to play "ice cream shop or food delivery" is also a nice touch. The park is open from dawn til dusk usually the park is empty but every once and a while friends will stop by and play. If you do come in the early morning remember to bring a little towel or rag to dry off the slides as the morning dew almost always leaves a puddle at the bottom of the side and no one likes a wet bottom.

Doesn't matter much with a modest SUV, but might with a sedan.

I thought the playground was in exceptional shape, and though it had other visitors each time we went, was never overly crowded. The pickleball courts seemed to be well-used, too, and the overall facility was very well maintained. There is a small parking area for maybe 8 cars or so, and I don't believe street parking was available immediately outside the driveway, but it was surely sufficient for most visits.

The giant waterslides are a lot of fun, and the lazy river is one of our favorite attractions. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and the prices are very reasonable. Another great feature is the small boardwalk area just a short walk from the waterpark. You can grab funnel cakes, burgers, pizza, hot dogs, french fries, and ice cream, then bring them back into the park to enjoy. It's a convenient option when everyone gets hungry after spending time in the water. Overall, Thunder Lagoon is a fun, family-friendly waterpark that we look forward to visiting year after year. We came here for a family photo shoot…read more THE PARK: Parking/entry fee was $10 for state residents and $20 for all others, paid via a machine. By the time we got here the facilities up front were closed so I have no idea what was available sans for restrooms and an outdoor shower. According to the website, shower and changing facilities are available, along with a food concession, chair & umbrella rentals, even a Mobi-Mat which allows wheelchairs to be pushed onto the beach (such a great idea). The sandy area is very wide and stretches for 3 miles with zero shady spots or trees. Lifeguards were gone for the day with their stands turned upside down. I noticed some vehicles actually parked on the beach near the northern end, a very cool perk that is not allowed back home. Ocean conditions were fairly calm but most folks were in waist-high water at most. OVERALL: Spacious real estate, but coming from Hawaii, my expectations are set too high, LOL.

In addition to multiple childrens play areas, there is a large HUGE pavilion for concerts and parties. Every Thursday during the warm weather, free concerts are held there. The playgrounds are seperate and graduated by age group (baby, preschooler and grade schooler). There are over 40 acres of woodland to explore, in addition to a boat slip that lets you access the canals of the Pines. All in all, this a great, shady (TONS of Pine trees) Park in Ocean Pines.

Because only one other person was there, we were able to easily get a place to park. I can imagine this being a very popular place to come and watch the sun disappear, particularly when the weather is warmer and you can enjoy the moment instead of try to stay warm. There's a gazebo where you can sit. There's also a small pier but I wasn't sure if that was part of the park or private property so we didn't investigate.
