Brian quickly found my info, and told me the price which was around $100.00, which is reasonable. It is, however, corporate policy to charge $40.00+ taxes extra for a customer that just wants to use their current frames!!! What kind of money hungry, BS is that? Considering that I am a current customer and take my entire family there for their optical needs as well, this seems like a quick cash grab just because the corporation can get away with it!! Please invest in sensitivity training for your employees. Employees treating customers in a…read moresub-standard manner is bad for business. When customers are treated poorly (or extremely well), they will tell everyone they know about it. That's exactly what I'm doing right now. If you take proper action, I might change my rating. Until then, this is what you get. I had a horrible experience at your store today. The cashier was wonderful (so, please don't reprimand her; she did nothing wrong), but it just takes one experience with a rude employee after to leave a bitter taste in your mouth. After we were done shopping, my husband and I were getting ready to leave. He needed to use the washroom. I drove the motorised cart close to the entrance/exit area, waiting. (The other motorised cart was still available). We had purchased home related items (bedsheets, etc.). So, I waved the receipt to the employee standing at the front entrance area, before I put my receipt inside the packaging of one of the items. I stood up to just put my phone (with my credit card) into my pocket. Next thing I know, this other employee (elderly white male) is eyeing my legs, as if ambulatory wheelchair users don't exist. He then approaches me and asks me if I need the cart. I say "yes, of course". He prods me with the same question repeatedly, and now I'm finding myself having to explain my physical issues (which is really none of his business). He then proceeds with "you'll know what it's really like when you're my age" and then goes on and on about all the surgeries he's had. It's unfortunate that he's had several surgeries, but that is no excuse to antagonise me when I am just trying to shop and leave. He then asks to see my receipt (note, he wasn't doing this for other customers; he wasn't the employee standing at the entrance for any of this; this was clearly a personally targeted situation). I pull it out of the packaging I tucked it into and he goes over every item line by line. Again, this would make sense if he was doing this for all customers, but nope. Just me, AFTER giving me grief for using the motorised cart that is there for people like me who need it to shop. When my husband (white able-bodied male) arrived, his tone changes, but he still goes on and on, and follows us for a bit, as we are trying to leave. We just ended the conversation and left as quickly as possible. In the past, I have been rudely asked if I need the motorised cart (which I absolutely do), and it is annoying, but they don't normally keep bothering me with it. It's a minor annoyance. What happened today was well beyond that. It was ableist, racist, sexist and ageist, especially when he started following us and saying that his friend with arthritis works on a computer all day. Cool, I also have arthritis and work on a computer all day. Just because I'm a disabled woman of colour doesn't mean that I am lazy or have no career. Train your employees to not harass disabled POC customers at your stores. That kind of behaviour is not acceptable.

As a supermarket as a whole, the Atlantic Superstore provides as much as any other one would in the…read morearea. As a group visiting the area, we decided to take a cooking class provided by Atlantic Superstore. The only redeeming "super" quality about the cooking program at the Atlantic Superstore is their impeccable ability to provide a consistently mediocre culinary experience. From start to finish, the process was quite underwhelming and did not live up to the expectations of a "seafood" experience. The only trace of seafood we experienced were shreds of smoked salmon in biscuits that did not provide any chills. The most appalling part of the experience was that the provided ingredients seemed to be on the brink of going bad or have simply gone. We had to toss a lot of produce and definitely felt like a course meant to dispose of the redundant product while making a quick buck. Do yourself a favour, Youtube cooking recipes or simply follow instructions from the back of boxes. At least then, you'll be able to buy fresh ingredients and perhaps create dishes with a non-microscopic amount of seafood.

Sobey's corp actually just bought out Safeway ( gasp). Anyway. They have a decent health food section which I was happy to find , a decent veggie section, mediocre deli section, sad bread area. However they have a nice little bakery area with eclairs , cupcakes etc. But whenever I go there and am being helped by very friendly bakery staff , there is always some pumpkinhead who thinks that they needed to be waited on first just because they may have placed a cake order ahead of time. What is up with that? This one woman actually went behind the counter to get another employee to help her since the male employee was busy getting my order. The male employee: " I will help you in a second ma'am as soon as I am done with these folks" Woman: " I have an order to pick up!" Then she looked at me like Cleopatra, perfectly justified for trying to bump in line in front of me. Her shrill tone brought out another employee to get the Queen's order. The bakery staff handled that potentially irate woman like a boss. Great customer service and team work. They do carry more organic veggies ( which sadly is still not enough) then say Atlantic Superstore BUT they are not in one section together. I try to eat mostly organic veggies but apparently this island is stuck in the dark ages still( look up GMOs , Franken Food etc) So I literally have to hunt around the veggie section since they dont have a logical way of placing their organic produce . Say for instance you can put the regular carrots here , then right by it , put the Organic carrots. Or make a little section with ALL your organic offerings IN ONE PLACE. Because that would make sense and not waste my time. My last nit picky thing is they have the slowest cashiers on the planet but maybe I do need to slow down and not be so uptight since I am on the island to relax and slow down.
