Patrick Murphy is known in Cook County by family law attorneys as a loose cannon with is lawyer speak for Incompetent. John R Mack was appearing on behalf of Frank M Valenti, however he never filed an appearance which is required by the State of Illinois and Cook County Circuit court. John R Mack had Judge Murphy file a judgement against my Workers Compensation Award and my Personal Injury award which is against Illinois Law. I appealed the decision and on the court date several months later Frank M Valenti showed up and filed an appearance, which he admitted at the time that John R Mack had appeared in court without filing an appearance which was in violation of State Law. Needless to say, Judge Murphy upheld his incorrect decision, and when I raised an objection, I was told my Judge Murphy that he knew I was correct, but he wanted to see my attorney in court anyway. And if you look up John R Mack, you will see that he is a Bankruptcy attorney, so he was fully aware of funds which are exempt from creditors. I also sent a demand letter to Atty Valenti requesting the paperwork to complete the tax returns for a specific year and for my passport to be returned from my ex-wife, and he never responded. Consequently as a result of his ignoring of my request, I am required by law to file a report with the police about the theft of the passport, and forward that on to the State Department.

In reading the reviews here I do not believe they reflect an accurate opinion of Frank. I used him in both a DUI I had and my divorce case. In both instances he told me what was going to happen given the facts of my cases. I didn't like everything he told me but he didn't sugar coat the facts and I accepted that he did a great job for me once everything was over and I got over my emotional state. The best way to evaluate Frank in to ask the deputies and the clerks how good he is and they will tell you that you hired the right attorney. You can even ask other attorneys which I did and they told me everything Frank was telling me was correct.

I worked solely with Elise Yu and Thomas. I am very grateful to have found them. After Thomas reviewed my evidence and clearly saw I was not in the wrong he called the attorney immediately and spoke to him. Let me just say that Thomas put the opposing attorney in his place (in a good way). He's very knowledgable, kind and knows what he is doing. Since the other side really has no case against me, I've been in contact with Elise the most as we are just playing the "waiting game" until they come back with a counter offer or something (I am not a lawyer, so I don't know all this legal jargon.). On top of being super responsive with all my questions, Elise has also helped me with a few other things as a courtesy which speaks volumes to her work ethic and service. No matter what time I have e-mailed her, she always responds right away in the morning. She is very kind, compassionate and really wants to help. Now, I have not had to go to court and won't have to, so I can't speak on that. What was done was mostly communication, back and forth talks about settlements and all the other legal stuff/laws lawyers need to do and know. I would recommend this law firm to anyone in a heart beat (in fact, I already have!). Especially Thomas and Elise. Those two together are great!
