Bought our flat cut at Mollie Stones in Sausalito. They had a 3 pounder which is exactly what my wife and I were hoping to find. I followed directions which specifically I must note, makes no mention of rinsing....and I didn't. I gave it a once over with a paper towel. This is not a generic corned beef with a salt laden spice packet. I plopped it in a Dutch oven, covered in water and beef broth. Boiled for a nano second, then turned down to simmer for 3 hours. Then I put it on a sheet pan and warmed up some grey pouppn and brown sugar. Poured that glaze on top and Broiled for ten minutes get a crust . Absolutely Divine. This market is precious in every sense of the word. a lot of care and detail goes into the prepared foods. They charge a LOT for small portions. I came about 20 minutes before closing and was able to pick up a tri tip sandwich, a delicious tarragon chicken salad, potato salad and some great produce. You get what you pay for and I was happy to find them open late. I will be back. read more

It's a long time family run business here in Woodside California. Woodside is a unique town that really does not have much as far as businesses a couple restaurants, hardware store, and this market all pretty much owned by the same family. It's a full Service market with grocery side, big wine market deli case including hot and cold prepared foods it's inexpensive side don't get me wrong, but that's good quality, and the people are friendly. They seem to have been working here for a long time and seemed to know everybody. read more

I've passed this place so many times and finally stopped in and I'm glad I did. It was breakfast/lunch so I was ready to explore what they had to offer. They have a hot bar that is not self serve but I missed the breakfast items so I opted out for a sandwich. There was a good selection of items and I opted for the club sandwich and my partner got the cordon blue. While our order was being prepared I browsed the immediate area. The meats, other food items, and the wine selection. Once our sandwiches were ready we also got an order of vegetables and Mac and cheese as well as a cup of hot coffee that is self serve. I continued to browse the store grabbed a bag of chips and a couple of other items of interest and made our way to checkout. Checkout was a breeze and we were on our way. Our sandwiches were delicious and fresh. I enjoyed the club the cordon blue had more flavor so I took the other half of that sandwich. Both sandwiches were made on dutch crunch. The Dutch crunch here was delicious and not hard like other places where it cuts the roof of your tongue. Both sandwiches were filling and well made. I got the Robert's coffee blend and it was good. Sugar and creamer self serve. The store is setup nicely and well maintained. The individuals at the deli area are efficient and the long lines disappeared quickly. Staff was friendly. Cashier efficient. A large variety of different items. All around good selection of items. Parking is limited but cars come and go so you always find at least one spot. Went there for work cause i was down the street and it was around lunchtime. The roast beef, did disapoint. It was a huge sandwich tho but no flavor. Sourdough tasted plain and the roast beef was just, there, filling space. Reviews were right too, deli counter was slow and non attentive. There were 5 people and it took someone, i think the manager, to tell the employees that there was someone waiting. I think ill pass on this place and check it off the ol bucket list. read more

Parking was a bit of a hassle but once inside the shop was clean, organized, and offered a great variety of products. They had everything I needed and more. Great Kelly! High priced, $18 for a premade wrap, but good quality and great selection. One disappointment was inhospitalbility of not having a public restroom for the size of this supermarket/deli. Instead they instructed me to walk five minutes down the road to the public library. Big disappointment for such a profitable business not to offer that amenity to customers. read more

Coming here over 50+ years and the experience recently will preclude me from ever setting foot in there again. Lots of local residents feel the same. Over the years the quality of food has declined, the prices are over the top and the service is horrible. The deli is a zoo with no organization, the meat department crew has just a bad attitude. I've been to both locations of Robert's Market and I adore them! It's an adorable market with a huge variety of health food, fresh produce, wine and lots of other groceries. I especially love the deli. I got a grab an go vegan wrap here as well as pumpkin tiramisu that was delicious. My cashier was exuberant and helpful. The staff seem to genuinely love their job! While I was here there happened to be a complementary wine tasting. The man hosting was very friendly and knowledgeable and the wine was incredible. I'd highly recommend this market for a snack/meal or just a grocery shopping trip. read more

This is a small local grocery. It has a fantastic meat market with a butcher like the old days. They stock gourmet items. The small area that has bakery items are delicious, especially the pies, cakes, & breakfast breads. Like lemon poppyseed bread, banana bread, and morning glory bread. It is the local woodside store, but you can expect to pay top dollar for that convenience. The speciality items are so good i don't mind paying for them. I don't think i would buy standard milk and eggs type items unless it's a time crunch and i could go a few miles further. I highly recommend going and finding your specialty item you can't find anywhere else. The quality is excellent. read more

Beautiful meat department, however when I called to get Prime cuts for the holiday I was told the best beef they sold was a Choice grade, "You won't know the difference." Something to keep in mind. Most of the items they have are pretty run of the mill but I would recommend checking out the meat and seafood section. I saw Australian Wagyu ribeye, gigantic scallops and prawns and a wide selection of dry-aged meats available. I think that is where this market really shines. This market is a high quality market with high quality meats, cheeses and grocery. They have a wonderful delicatessen " they actually had prosciutto di Parma" $28 a lb. Wifey and I got 1/4 of the prosciutto, tiramisu, Keylime tart, A tri-tip steak sandwich, and a pastrami with coleslaw on light rye bread " added the garlic aïoli and swapped out the Pepper jack cheese for Swiss" such a yummy sammi! They also have a huge selection of wines. If you are in the area, do stop in you won't regret it. read more

Formal Complaint Regarding Discriminatory Treatment and Improper Conduct Leadership at Robert's Store and the San Mateo County Clerk's Office Dear Robert's Store Management and San Mateo County Clerk, I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding an incident that occurred on November 3, 2024, at approximately 4:30 PM PT, at your store location in San Mateo County. During this visit, I was met with unacceptable treatment by both the store staff and a responding sheriff's officer, who appeared to act inappropriately and with bias. Upon entering the store to purchase a quick lunch, I asked an employee about the availability of a restroom. The employee informed me that there was no restroom available. I responded by noting that California and local business regulations typically require establishments to provide restroom access. At this point, the store manager, identified as Jose, appeared and abruptly directed me to leave the restroom area. He added that he would call the sheriff if I did not comply. I invited him to do so, expecting the sheriff to approach the matter with fairness and respect for my rights as a customer. Unfortunately, when the sheriff arrived, I was deeply disappointed by the manner in which he handled the situation. Rather than mediate impartially, the sheriff appeared to side with the store staff in what I felt was an instance of clear favoritism. He informed me that if I returned to the store, I would be arrested -- a threat I found to be excessive, intimidating, and unfounded, especially considering that my only action was to inquire about restroom access. This entire interaction left me feeling deeply disheartened and disrespected, not only as a customer but as a proud American who has served this nation honorably for over a decade. The sheriff's dismissive attitude toward my concerns suggested an element of discrimination that should not be present in any public service interaction. A bystander, Mr. Tim from Woodside, witnessed the incident and has offered his contact information should further testimony be required. I am now bringing this matter to your attention and intend to escalate it through appropriate legal and administrative channels, as I believe that both Robert's Store staff and the sheriff's conduct were inappropriate, discriminatory, and inconsistent with the professional standards expected in San Mateo County. Please review the store's video footage from this date and time to see that I conducted myself respectfully throughout my visit. This experience was not only a personal affront but also a violation of customer service standards and public trust. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. Nice service from workers, white shirt and tie, reminiscent of a time past. For Market solid 4 star My main experience here and 3 stars is for getting deli items or snacks. Super expensive, super beautiful market. I think that the deli staff are a little more grumpy than the rest of the staff in the store, it's also the busiest part of the store. Their deli is really well stocked with premade items and they also have made to order sandwiches. Don't forget to take a number for service. We love picking up a sandwich and going for a walk/hike at one of the many nearby trails. read more

This place has a good selection of food. I thought I would stop by to get a snack before heading to the mountains to visit a friend. Unfortunately what kind of soured that experience was the cashier that kind of stinks like racism or severe sudden depression on part of the waitress? didn't say anything to me, slid my sandwich down the bagging area (too rough for just a sandwich) without handing it to me, and talked to the other customers behind me. I'm all for customer service, answering questions, but a "hello" and "thank you" go a long way with me. I think that goes a long way with most people. Took an amazingly long time for them to make my over priced under nourishing meal. Was told by the cashier that they fired all their staff recently and were having issues. Roberts is a nice smaller neighborhood market in Woodside. Produce is always fresh, with a good deli selection. It reminds me of the neighborhood markets you find all over the the UES and UWS in NYC. However, it's no where as grand and fun as Balducci's in NYC or Draeger's in San Mateo. Nonetheless, if you're in Woodside, or nearby, you can opt for one of their specialty sandwiches at the deli, or do your grocery shopping here, if you want a change from your run of the mill Safeway. read more

I LOVE this market. They have real quality pre-made food that's also super yummy. It's not a convenient store for me to visit but I mainly come because they are a Dandelion Chocolate retailer that's closest to me. A lady always needs good quality chocolates in the house for when the time of the month comes around, ya'll. Gents... take note, too! If you want your lady not to PMS, chocolate is the answer. ;) They have many local grocery food that we can't get at Safeway, Whole Foods, or Molly Stones, and we really appreciate that. Their store is nestled in a very small town area of Woodside, has the appearance of today's old west. It was the week of Valentine's Day, so very festive with their offerings near the cash register. It was about 6pm so not too busy, but almost all the cash registers were open, so it was a swift checkout no line. During my visit I discovered their pumpkin bread and premade salads -- best one I've had from the grocery stores. They had yummy looking prepackaged dinners. Average $10 each. Not bad at all.
