I brought my boat in for an estimate. I didn't hear from owner Jim for a week I stopped in to…read morecheck on the status he had torn off the front of the Keel guard, which wasn't part of the work I requested. (estimate of hull damage was what I needed done) After the estimate I had issues and decided it wasn't time to do the current repairs. Jim charged me $1000.00 for the estimate, $3xx of it was for storage which I did not know about and there wasn't a sign anywhere in the shop which states a storage fee. (had I known I would have just picked up my boat after day 1 or 2) I did get fucked in this deal imo but I did not either because now I know NOT to take my boat or recommend this shop to anyone I know. My hull was marked up with chalk and was not cleaned up upon pickup and what seems to me as more damage to my hull prior to dropping it off. I did not have any pictures to prove the before and after. (dremel and fiberglass like a child doodling on the hull inconsistent of scraping rocks and a half ass epoxy job to stick the keel guard back in place) Jim is very knowledgeable guy and I do not doubt his ability or work but what he did was shotty. I paid him to not ever do business with him in the future ever. Its sad to see there isn't a place you could trust anymore these days.

Wow! Dan from Sam's…read moreMarine was our hero today. We had a tire blowout on our boat trailer and he was there within minutes Put on the spare with all the high tech equipment and we were well on our way. He really saved the day. We have also had this boat serviced here and I trust in the work they do. Starts right up every time Highly recommend Sam's Marine.

**Avoid This Place at All Costs - Dishonest and Unethical**…read more I've been a customer for years and have spent over **$40,000** at Sam's, but I can no longer stay silent about their shady practices. They pretend to be trustworthy, but they're nothing more than **rip-off artists**. Recently, I took my **deck boat** in for bellows replacement and a possible bilge pump issue. They tried charging me **$3,600**, claiming I also needed a U-joint and resealing. I got a second opinion from another mechanic who completed the job for **$1,100** and confirmed **none of those extra "repairs" were necessary**. Even worse, they'll **hold your boat hostage** and charge you for work they didn't do. They sent me an **$180 invoice** for absolutely nothing--just for keeping my boat there. This is **not how you treat a loyal customer** who has spent tens of thousands with your business. **STAY AWAY.** They'll **invent problems** to overcharge you and refuse to release your boat unless you pay up. **Total scam.** in the end , I got my boat fixed with gimble bearing, bellows and bilge pump done at Bumps marine in Lester prairie for $1350, so the $3600 price tag Sam's tried to get me for was a total lie to get more money from me . So much for thinking I was a valued customer after spending 40k with them over the past 3 years.
