I just got home from my appointment with Dr. Wheeler and I wanted to write a review because I am so happy with everything! I first brought in my 89 year old Mom who hadn't seen a dentist in a very long time. The staff and Dr. Wheeler could not have been nicer to us. They took great care to make sure she was comfortable. I've had my teeth cleaned and new fillings put in, all without any pain. I have a cosmetic issue that has bothered me and my past dentist just said I would have to live with it. Dr. Wheeler on the other hand was very understanding and eager to help me fix it. He is knowledgeable, creative and offered me options. My appointments have started promptly, the office is comfortable and clean, the costs (I don't have insurance) are very reasonable, and everyone there is really kind and caring. I highly recommend Dr. Wheeler if you want a great dentist! read more

Was referred by word of mouth, asked multiple times whether my insurance was accepted, never once did they say that they would be billing as out of network, until i called staring down a bill of items i would have been covered for. I was told they would check with my insurance provider what would be covered for future procedures. My experience in other dentists offices was that they would always provide clear costs, what is covered and what isn't. Not the case here. read more

I'm extremely happy with Dr. Ward - great communication, friendly disposition, and above all just a great dentist. He's up-to-date on the latest technology and techniques, and very good with his hands. I had a challenging situation compounded by a not-so-great previous dentist - Dr. Ward was able to fix the tooth and it now looks better than it has in decades. Dr Wheeler is incredible!! I had suffered from TMJ for years and had seen various dentists, oral surgeons, and Chiropracter. When I saw him I was wearing a bite guard nightly, but my jaw would pop when I was chewing and the jaw joint would get swollen and effect my hearing on some days. He made me a new bite guard and it all went away! Recently, out of nowhere my jaw flared up and I could barley open my mouth and was in sooo much pain. I was in the process of moving out of state so there was a lot going on. Dr Wheeler got me in to see him on short notice and spent ample time with me on two different visit all in the span of a week before my move. He remodeled my bite guard and so far so good. He is beyond kind! He has literally been a life saver for me. If you suffer from TMJ you must see him!! read more

I have been going to Dr. Wheeler for about 15 years now. I had been going to an overpriced Beverly Hills dentist, but as I started getting into more major work--and have no dental insurance-- I decided it was time to ditch Dr. Beverly Hills. Dr. Wheeler came highly recommended. His office is not overbooked, he doesn't rush between chairs, you get the time you need, questions are answered clearly. Everything is beautifully done. They take great care not to hurt you (I'm a super wimp). The hygienist Carol is particularly skillful and works with my peculiarities (I can't stand the sound of the ultrasound)... Dr. Wheeler listens, and his prices are super-fair. No Persian rugs or movie-star photos, no in chair tvs or neck massages--but not paying for that either. I also like the oral surgeon he uses. Have had a couple of implants, a crown, a root canal. I'm looking forward to many more years of treatment with Dr. Wheeler and his staff. read more

Excellent dentist; professional compassionate, friendly and explains thoroughly. I had been suffering from debilitating jaw pain for several months before being referred to Dr. Wheeler by my general dentist. He diagnosed the problem (TMJ) then prescribed a custom mouth guard which I now wear on a daily basis. My pain has finally been alleviated and I'm feeling so much better now. Office staff is also professional and friendly. I would highly recommend this dentist for anyone suffering from jaw pain related to TMJ! read more

This guy is not very good at all. Wanted to pull all my teeth out. His assistant charged for things I never asked for and wasnt covered on. Then later said it wasnt their job to check my coverage. Be cafeful he is a crook with a hook. read more

I've been going here for years and decided it was time to write a review. If you are looking for a new dentist - look no further!!! Dr. Wheeler takes all the stress out of going to the dentist. - They have a Friendly Staff that walk you through the whole process. From the cute receptionist to Dr. Wheeler himself who might be the friendliest and easiest person to hold a conversation with in the entire world, the process couldn't possible be any better. - The place is always clean, smells excellent, and has great decor. - I've gone to see Dr. Wheeler for everything from regular cleanings to fixing chips in my front teeth, to even having a custom mouthpiece made for when I played football. - This was the third dentist I tried in the area and without a doubt the one I will be sticking with in the future. read more

I hadn't gone to the dentist in several years because I wasn't happy with the two I had tried seeing in my area. My coworker's entire family are Dr Wheeler's patients and I got a referral from her. Upon entering the office, I was glad I wasn't bombarded with print ads on cosmetic dentistry. I was told before my visit that because it was my first, the cleaning would be done by Dr Rob. This too was good news to me - I'd been to another place where I hardly got FaceTime with the dentist. My cleaning went well and I was put at ease about not seeing a dentist for years. Dr Rob diagnosed my tmj problem, and I visited him again to create my night guard appliance. This was very different than my former dentist's guard. He custom shaped the appliance when I was at the office to ensure my jaw and bite could be helped. I actually want to wear my night guard more often than not because it relaxes my jaw so much! read more

Firstly there's Rob (the man with the DDS), who is so personable, adept and cool as the other side of the pillow. I have a pretty extensive dental track record and his was the first injection I couldn't feel at all - so he gets 5 stars. Then there's Rosemary the receptionist, who's adorable, skillful and really attentive - she gets 5 stars as well. The first time I called about my chipped tooth, I was given an appointment the very next day at 8 am. There was no awkwardness about payments or appointments (you know those offices that try to up-sell you on teeth whitening before you even begin your treatment?). Each person who walked by while I filled out papers greeted me with a smile or a handshake - The front office gets 5 stars. Overall this office is as good as it gets and if you choose Dr. Wheeler and his staff as your dentist you will not be disappointed! read more

I went to Dr. Wheeler after having been to several other dentists. I had spent quite of bit of money and undergone a lot of frustration and anxiety trying to correct several problems with my teeth. Without getting technical, Dr. Wheeler drafted a plan to correct the issues with my smile, implemented a test run with temporary materials & then beautifully executed his work. I now have a natural smile that complements my face. Dr. Wheeler is not only amazing at his profession, he is also attentive to his patients' needs and concerns. His staff is friendly and professional as well--which is a huge plus! His assistant Amy is great! I truly can't thank him and his staff enough. Let me preface by saying that I used to be one of those people who was terrified by going to the dentist. Every dentist I went to before made me feel ashamed and embarrassed by my teeth so I just stop going. I felt like a lost cause. Well there came a day when I could no longer avoid the dentist and had to go. I stumbled upon Dr. Rob two years ago and have never been happier with a dentist. He and his staff make me feel safe and comfortable and that there is hope for me! I've had to get several root canals and crowns in the past two years. They were quick and painless every time that I don't mind going back for another. I've maxed out out my insurance for two years now and trust me, I wouldn't do that with a bad doctor. Additionally, Dr. Rob's staff is so friendly and attentive. His receptionist, Rosemary is gorgeous and makes the waiting time much less painful, always taking great care of me and always is great about getting me my itemized receipts. The team also never lets you forget your appointment. :) I should also mention that the place is super clean and super cute. When my dentist was on vacation, Dr. Wheeler was covering emergencies for him. I went in with some pain that I had to check before I left for my vacation overseas. Nice and friendly person but a money sucking machine. All he did was x-ray my one tooth and told me there is no cavity! The bill is for $449 while my insurance pays him 347 dollar for the half an hour visit. He wants another 101 dollar from me. He is a hungry business man. Check every price before you go. There are wonderful dentists in La Canada. You don't need to go to him. read more

Im very disappointed in u wheeler. You dont want to provide accurate information about your treatment plan and how much its going to cost. Why did u get annoyed that I wanted to know the price for the tmj treatment in advance. You figured that u gonna surprise me with a number after the treatment. When you offer tmj treatment you need to know how many adjustment are going to be made, if you know what your doing and how much its gonna cost your patient in advanced and not say u dont know and ask me how much the others are charging you need to have your own set price. Above all im not sure you truly were able to help me therefore you told me to go else where that was rude and did not expect from you. I trusted you out 4 different doctors and the last conversation I had with you made me change my mind cuz you were not able to give me accurate info and sounded not interested in providing your services. Therefore I want to receive a refund if not I will dispute the case and take this review further to google and other directories and express my experience further in detail. read more

I have been going to Dr. Wheeler for over 10 years now, and I couldn't recommend him more. His staff are professional and friendly. This definitely feels like a family practice. I also like that my appointments tend to start and end on time, so I'm not waiting around forever like some other doctors' offices. Dr. Wheeler's hygienists are gentle with their cleanings, which is much appreciated. I never leave there feeling like my mouth has been torn up. Also, Dr. Wheeler doesn't try to swindle you with expensive procedures, from my experience. I only had one dental issue, and he offered multiple options, and actually recommended the most inexpensive option since it was the least invasive, so he's not just out to make a buck. I also changed insurance recently, and Dr. Wheeler was not an in-network provider. I called and asked about their fees for routine services to assess whether I could continue to afford going there, and they gave them to me without an issue, so it was easy for me to make my decision. Overall, I'd recommend Dr. Wheeler to anyone. read more
