It's a shame because Doctor Gross is genuinely a competent doctor, just has poor policies.

At first I didn't realize that I had reached the doctor, but she was so well-spoken & knowledgable that it quickly became apparent. Dr. Sullivan spent significant time with me during this unscheduled call. She was very informative, compassionate, and concerned about the best interests of my family. To start this office is 5 miles north of 495 (LIE). Its far, in an inconvenient location and a very…read moretiny office. Which means they can only treat one patient at a time. If your appointment is scheduled for 10:15, you will not be called back for at least 30 minutes to then have your eyes dilated and then be put back into the common waiting area to wait for dilation for another 20-30 min. I came in today at 9:50 and had a 10:15 appt scheduled. Upon making the appointment i mentioned that i would need to be out by 11:30 to head to school. So she suggested i schedule my appointment for earlier or come in sooner. No problem, i came in 25 min earlier. 10:30 passes, so at 10:35 i reminded the receptionist that i needed to be gone by a certain time. She said thats why i should have scheduled an earlier appt. And i said next time dont tell someone to come in sooner just tell them to come in for their scheduled time because coming in sooner makes NO difference what so ever. But i still came in 25 min earlier, did i not ??? A walk in patient comes in after me w/ no scheduled appointment and gets called before me at 10:40. Thats when i decided its best for me to leave as i will not be out in time enough to be on time for school and would then be driving w dilated eyes swirving down the road. Dr Wang is great but to see him takes forever and its not worth the stress of traveling all the way to the north shore of LI, nor sitting in his waiting room for 45 min before being called back. I dont recommend this location unless you like an old way of doing things and have nothing important to do after your scheduled appointment. Ive seen many senior citizens here while waiting and i guess that's appropriate for this setting as theyr retired and have time to wait around. I have my own business, full time school earning a doctorate and many things to do which does not allow me to waist precious time. first off, i'm not really the sort to write reviews but my experience with dr. george wang. compels…read moreme to do so. i went in with an eye infection and the consultation went fine but before i left, he gave me a sample ointment which he wanted to charge me $40 for. at the reception, after talking to my husband i decided not to buy it from them and get a prescription instead so i could buy it from my local pharmacy. his receptionist went in to ask him for the prescription, he gave her some lame excuse for why i shouldn't be using it. basically, he didn't want me to have the ointment unless i bought it from him. i have never encountered such unprofessional behavior from a doctor before and i just wanted to let everyone know what they are getting into before they visit dr. wang.

She could tell that I hadn't been taking care of myself. She pushed me a bit, to get a Mammogram, and then some additional testing. Very early Breast Cancer was discovered. Her staff, ranging from the front desk to the physician assistants, tries their best and is the only saving grace for her practice, which is conveniently located across from Walt Whitman mall. They are friendly, diligent, and do try their best while staying calm, collected, and professional unlike the doctor herself, who seems passive aggressive. Given the poor reviews and experience, I don't recommend her practice unless you want to go through the pain of feeling this distress yourself.

I only go now for yearly physicals because my experiences now aren't the best. Just recently, I went for a routine appointment. The lack of communication due to language barrier between patient/staff is frustrating. The hygiene practices by staff are shocking. The medical assistant did not put gloves on the draw blood, which I had to ask her to put on. I had a follow up telehealth which I did not receive a link for, now have to pay a late fee of $60 in order to reschedule my appointment. Just a few situations I've recently run into. Would 100% not recommend.

They are quick to respond and the follow-up is beyond what I have ever experienced anywhere. Dr. Hassan treats my 95 year old mother. She personally cares for her well-being. She is treated with respect and dignity. Just because she is 95, nothing is taken for granted or does anyone in the office ever respond, "Well she's 95" and dismisses her. I can't say enough about Dr. Hassan and her support staff. They even remember my mother's date of birth when I call! Never has she received such treatment and never have I experienced. Most of her doctors put her ailments off due to her age. Not Dr. Hassan. I recommend Dr. Hassan for any age you are. A+++++++++
