Dr. Fredericks is definitely someone whom I have a lot of respect for and believe he is a genius doctor. He has figured out something that started literally 29 years ago with my first concussion. I have asked SO many doctors throughout those years about my symptoms and they have all just ignored them and/or were unsuccessful at attempting to figure out when tried. If it wasn't the basics, then they just said I needed to lose weight. (By the way, we now know why I really couldn't thanks to Dr. Fredericks...see the end).
Fortunately, my new dermatologist (when mine retired) spotted something he pretty much "knew" I must have the instant he saw me at our first meeting. It wasn't that exactly, but something that acts a bit similar. If it hadn't been for my dermatologist telling my primary what he thought I had and why... I wouldn't have even been seen by Dr. Fredericks. So, I am extremely thankful for Dr. William Mortensen for sure.
Dr. Fredericks looks at your symptoms in a whole different way than any other doctor I have ever seen. He is totally up-to-date and actually quite a bit before his time when it comes to the newest and most important research being done today especially in regards to anything with endocrinology. He will also do some testing that most doctors do not even bother with, but actually can show some amazing things. This as well as his in-depth interviewing of the patient and (in my case) extreme knowledge of issues caused by concussions... all add up to answers almost 30 years in the making. Often while waiting at his office or during some of the testing I have heard the same kinds of stories by many others. When a new patient starts complaining about the wait, many speak up about yes it is irritating, but it is totally worth it, because if anyone is going to figure out the hard cases....it's Dr. Fredericks. One time, one lady who was complaining quite a bit as well as her husband joining in came out of her appointment saying that we were all correct. She could already see that he was different and going to actively figure everything out for her.
So, the only thing that makes this review not a 5 star, is the waiting (often for hours), but you can also call ahead and see how far behind he is running before you arrive. I also bring my laptop and Kindle to pass the time with their free wifi. Actually, I am sitting here right now writing this review as I wait for my turn.
If you have something wrong that has not been figured out in years and it seems due to something with your endocrine system... I highly recommend that you let him figure it out for you. If you have issues after having a concussion and don't know if it's endocrine or not, I would still see if he could help you. Mine actually caused damage to my pituitary gland as well as finding that I have virtually no Adult Growth Hormone in my system. He and his office were successful at jumping through the hoops with my insurance on this, too, and I just got the appeal overturned (without me having to do anything). read more
