I was diagnosed with colitis in 2008 and I have had about 4 flare-ups over the years. I normally would drink aloe vera juice and I went to the doctor only once which prescribed antibiotics, and pretty much got over it. My darling wife was diagnosed at UCI Medical Center with an aggressive Nasal Pharyneal stage 4 cancer. The location started in her right sinus and went into her right eye socket and brain cavity. I really wanted to be impressed after reading about him and looking at all of his videos online. I accompanied my husband to the initial meeting with Dr. Rowen and was so excited that we might get some relief for my husbands herniated disks. Both our initial impression was that he was not genuine and was concentration more on the "Sales" aspect of his business rather than actually figuring out if he could help my husband. Like someone else wrote, I got a sense that he is unprofessionally touching patient, and faking the medical examine so hard for no reason. I was there with suspicion of root canal failure just like many other patients from his youtube channel. As he examined, He told me to keep one arm horizontal and touch one of my root canal tooth with the other hand, then he puts force on my horizontal arm, to see if arm strength differs between while touching root canal tooth or normal tooth. To me, the approach made sense. I have seen many videos about giving more attention to root cause helps to ease symptoms. But surprisingly, he believes, or interprets it very opposite. He thinks that touching the roots cause will "weaken" the body energy flow and that's how this farce started. He started faking the force he puts on my arm, and said "seems like this tooth is causing energy distraction". I said "Okay, but why do you have to fake the weigh?" He said "I didn't! You must be so surprise how much your energy level changes." I asked my husband to help me unveil this meaningless interaction, but Rowen never let him to, and kept telling us "You have no idea how much energy flow changes". Okay, now he told me to touch another root canal tooth. But I am not that idiot, this time I was touching healthy tooth, against to his instruction. And of course he started playing this same farce and told me "You see, you clearly have energy disruption on this root canal tooth". Also when he was doing all this, I was sitting on the bed, Rowen was standing in front of me and his balls were constantly sitting on my knee. He called me "Honey", hugged me often. My husband grossed out when I told him about balls. And he still needed to pay over $600 for this visit. They don't accept insurance at all. We drove a 7 hour round trip to see Dr. Rowen in Santa Rosa. We had been looking for a doctor who specialized in treating the root of the problem, and not one who just wanted to use drugs to treat the symptoms. Where do I begin? Having lyme and a new diagnosis of Trigeminal Neuralgia my husband who is an internal medicine doctor ( who listened to Dr Rowen speak at a Lyme Conference in Chicago) took me to see Dr Rowen for ozone treatments. My husband was alarmed at my pain and sense of doom with Trigeminal Neuralgia in which lyme disease can most certainly mimic. I am a 65 year old woman who is dynamically active in my travels and my profession. I show four Irish Wolfhounds and drive a 34 ft diesel pusher with them along all over the country. Trigeminal Neuralgia is the worst pain ever. It took me down and I thought my life was over. I believe Dr Rowen saved me! He did a physical exam and part of that exam was looking in my mouth. He was shocked and in disbelief to see I had a boat load (at least 13) mercury fillings (aka amalgams). He took pictures and he emphasized they needed to go! I have not had a TN attack since last December. I was put on tegretol in December 2018 and had removal of mercury in May 2019. No more TN as of yet. Ok, I am a young-ish woman, and my husband and I read the creepy yelp reviews before making my appointment. I was prepared ahead of my appointment in case there was an issue of inappropriate behavior. You might wonder why I made the appointment after reading those reviews as a young woman? I was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure and A Fib in January 2012. After having followed Dr. Rowen on the web for several years...I drove up to Santa Rosa to get a second opinion a couple of weeks after being released from the hospital. Coming from a family of doctors, I was quite taken aback by how I was treated the whole time I was in his office. After replying to his question about what line of work I was in...Dr. Rowen made several comments to the effect: "Oh...he's got money...he can afford this or that, etc." At that point I should have gotten up an left the office because what kind of doctor sits there talking about how much money a patient might or might not have? I've never heard such talk out of a medical doctor! Well...to make a long story short...Dr. Rowen spent as much time bragging about what great shape he's in because of his Vegan diet and talking to his assistant about getting people in there to fill an empty appointment slot two days later (...and he seemed a bit disappointed when I told him I couldn't drive 2 hours to see him again two days later because I had to go to my mother's funeral!!) as he did giving me a second opinion or even bothering to explain the bag full of supplements...and I still don't know what I'm supposed to do with the bottle of 35% Hydrogen Peroxide he gave me...nor any of the testing supplies he sold me! He handed me a sheet with the names of the supplements & doses, and hand scribbled a few words by each one as to which of the pharmaceuticals they were to replace (for example: he told me I should stop taking the blood thinner Coumidin/Warfarin and replace it with his Garlic pills and something called Bouke...neither of which even thinned my blood outside of its normal viscosity range in weeks!). You would think that after getting a new patient to spend over $1,600 in his first visit that Dr. Rowen would be interested in following up with his new patient, right? I mean how many patients could this guy have that pay him that kind of money for a visit in cash/check (which by the way, is the only method of payment he accepts because he forces you to pay some third party instead of him personally...which smelled of some kind of dodgy tax avoidance scheme!). Nope...never received a follow up phone call or even a follow up email...which to me is simply unbelievable...and completely unprofessional! But whats really the worse thing about my entire experience with Dr. Robert Rowen is that I always viewed him as the person I would turn to first if I ever got sick so that I wouldn't have to just follow the AMA playbook like everyone who gets caught in the hospital web of symptom based treatments...instead I ended up finding a doctor who was more interested in bragging about himself and selling vast amounts of supplements...than actually taking care of a patient who walked in believing in this doctor's ability to help him...but ended up leaving afterwards questioning the whole viability of alternative medicine! I have accompanied my ex-wife (and cancer patient), a physician/psychiatrist, to Dr. Rowens's clinic several times and had the honor of meeting him personally. As a journalist writing about health issues, I asked him many questions and received excellent answers. One of his statements I will never forget: "You and I and all of us have cancer cells in our systems right now! The important thing is: Will our immune systems be able to take care of them?" - Indeed ... he was right. I have spoken to many patients in his office who have been helped and trust him and his advice. He has been interviewed and spoken at medical conferences many times He is in contact with many other physicians in the U.S. and always on top of the latest health news and treatments. I have had huge success with Dr. Rowan treating my neck and back pain. I had suffered for decades with chronic pain and my range of motion is almost full now and I have no pain. I have only had two visits with Dr. Rowan and I feel I have my life back. I had injections directly into my back and neck. I have also had the IV treatments that Dr.Rowan recommended,along with a few supplements he suggested. Over all my health has improved tremendously ! My brother also came up from Los Angeles for treatment and reports feeling better. My mother is currently in treatment for leg pain and reports her leg pain has decreased.
