Based on one initial visit …read more.. It took 3 months to get in to see Dr. Adams and I waited patiently. His practice seems to be quite busy but my impression all around was good. I arrived early, completed my medical history, and was directly escorted to an exam room. A tech did initial tests while audio transcribing results = efficiency. My eyes were dilated and I was asked to wait for the doc. He popped in after a few minutes to say "sorry for the wait, I will be with you shortly". That was considerate. His exam was a bit brief but he confirmed that I need cataract surgery. He provided me with some literature to read and provided a recommendation to another DO for a surgery consult. He even asked the receptionist to call and make the appt for me. My appt is in 1 week. My only slight disappointment was learning from Dr. Adams that he no longer does cataract surgery himself. I will consider Dr. Adams for future eye exams.

Horrible, unprofessional communication that resulted in me taking an hour out of my day and not…read moreeven seeing a provider. When I called to make my appointment for a contact lens exam, I specifically double checked with them to make sure they took the insurance listed on their website, which I enrolled in specifically so I could see them; they assured me they did. I showed up and the receptionist kept telling me that my visit was just for a contact lens fitting, and I kept explaining that I needed a vision exam and prescription. She seemed utterly confused by this and kept saying my appointment was for a fitting only (which if you're a contact wearer, you understand makes no sense). I finally got her to confirm that I would be getting a prescription by the time I left. When I gave her my vision insurance card, she couldn't locate me in the system and then asked if I had a discount plan. I told her there were no plans labeled as discount on the insurer's site, so I wasn't sure, and she said they don't take that insurer's discount plans. By then I was called into my appointment, only to be told that they don't carry the type of contacts I wear and the only comparable brand was out of stock, so they could order some and I could come back for an exam, but not for a few weeks. I left without getting a new prescription, which I desperately needed. I hope they start clarifying their insurance plans for patients when appointments are made and inquiring about what kind of contacts people wear if their office doesn't stock commonly used brands. Complete waste of my time and then I had to scramble to find another optometrist who could see me right away. (I did find a same-day appointment at Eyeglass World on Eubank and had a quick, painless appointment, and my insurance covered a portion of the contact lens fitting fee, which was only $50 before insurance compared to the $160 quoted at Eye Associates).

Dr. Carr is a wonderful doctor, but alas, it is now for naught. He has decided to retire. His last day of seeing patients will be on December 12, 2017, and he's already all booked up.

It's a nice little Private Practice in the Encino complex among other small Medical Offices. The employees of always been helpful, friendly and efficient. I've had several nurse practitioners come and go through the years some I have enjoyed some were just my nurse practitioners. It's usually not very crowded, not long of a wait and you can usually get same-day appointments. It's in a great location right off of the freeway with plenty of off-street parking and directly across from the pharmacy how convenient is that? Although the staff has changed throughout the years the care and attention from the doctor and nurse practitioners have not changed. There's plenty of seating inside this little office with a television, wager station, plenty of magazines to read and beautiful photography decorating the walls. They do have after hours doctors on staff and you usually get a call back very quickly. I would recommend this office for someone who is looking for a reliable doctor or an efficient nurse practitioner but don't become too attached to them because they seem to come and go often. I would not like to recommend this office because I enjoy it being small and not crowded and being able to get same-day appointments. So to Roundup this review its a great office, great staff, great nurse practitioners and a great old grumpy Dr.
