They will put their own lenses on the Oakley's you bring BUT they don't tell you that Oakley doesn't allow any other lenses but Oakley to be used in their frames, it nulls the warranty and no authorized Oakley reseller optometrist will touch them after those lenses are put in or they'll lose they're license to sell Oakley's. When they were confronted with this, their response was that they'll gladly put new lenses in if I came in and paid for a new eye exam and pay for new lenses. So you're telling me you messed up and you won't fix your screw up without collecting more money. Lastly, they also lie about what your insurance covers. My insurance covers the eye exam but they lied and charged hundreds for the first exam that my insurance actually would have fully covered! Santa Barbara was never a place I'd expect to be ripped off, for such a "prestigious" city. Can't wait for the city to get through with their unethical business practices! Absolutely terrible experience I have ever had with an eye doctor…read more This is someone I had been seeing for years - including the older Dr. Funnell. However, my last visit in 2025 was my final visit. This doctor tried to diagnose me something very serious and recommended that I see a specialist that wasn't even qualified to diagnose the condition he suggested. He also stated what he said were facts about the illness, which were incorrect. Needless to say, he scared me to such an extent...that I did go to a specialist. I didn't have the condition. The handling of it was callous and impersonal. I have moved on to another eye doctor and will never visit this one again.

When I first went to this place for an eye exam and to order new contacts I was very impressed with the efficiency, especially for a small town facility. However, since then, it has been downhill. I took home a trial pair of contacts and then, when I was sure the contacts were working for me, I called to order a full year supply. I waited for them to come in. I waited. I waited. I called and was told they should be in soon. Finally, I was told that they never got ordered but they would order them that day. I waited. I waited. What should have been an overnight fix took another week. Now, it's time to order glasses. I went in. Picked out frames. Didn't complain about the price, although it was much higher than I am used to paying, Again, I waited. And waited. Finally called and was told that the glasses came I but one of the lenses had a chip. They would remake and call me when they were in. I waited. I waited. (Do you see a theme here?). I called and was told that the glasses would be here tomorrow. I waited. I called. No glasses. Somehow they missed the delivery. I waited. The weekend came and went. Monday is here. I was assured the glasses would be in this morning. I am still waiting. My prescription will probably change before my glasses show up. And, on top of it, when I asked if there was an office manager in charge I was told no. Any surprise there? Moral of the story is -- unless you have lots of money and lots of patience go somewhere else for your eye care needs

I set an appointment and when I arrived the office was nearly empty I had to wait for the optician lady to return from lunch or break. It took about 20 minutes of her typing on her computer with very little interaction. 7 to 10 days for my glasses. After 2 weeks I was called and told my glasses were ready. The lady hands me a bag with my glasses, I look inside the bag and she asks if I want to try them on. Of course. They fit okay. When I get to the car and put on one of the glasses I noticed a black ink mark on each lens,that I had to clean off. Maybe I was spoiled by my old eye doc. He would personally meet with patients picking up glasses, make sure they fit perfectly and then clean them. I'll be looking for a new optometrist.

He also provided a plethora of medical insight regarding LASIK vs PRK procedures (which was super helpful). His exam rhythm, vocal tone and quick wit humor throughout my visit - too cool for school!
