I love the Oakbrook Terrace Office Team staff. They have been great from the start. The team here, really puts " a face" on what would otherwise be just another "employment agency." They actually work with you, and get to know you personally. They don't hold what I consider to be my own neurotic idiosyncrasies against me. For example, I don't like working more than a few miles from home, even if it limits me. If I don't want to do a job, they don't hold it against me. I actually believe they prefer that rather than saying yes to a job, and not showing up. And they are quick to remember you if you help them out in a tough spot. Another thing I like is that they have a bunch of "fun stuff" and little jobs, to make quick cash from. It seems they are the go-to employment agency for all sorts of different types of events and activities. They are not limited to just office and clerical work. These guys seem to pay very well too. It's like they check out what type of work you will be doing, and you seem to get top notch pay for the job at hand. Even the super easy jobs seem to be above average pay. I think the only "con" in the beginning was that you don't know what a place is like until you get there, but they really do seem to screen their clients well. If you don't like a place, you don't have to be afraid to tell them. They won't hold it against you. They understand not everybody is right for every job. I usually work with Zoe, Erin and Vince. I have high regards for this team, I honestly could not do what they do for a million dollars a year. read more

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience with Robert Half. The lack of communication is honestly unacceptable. I've had recruiters call me, I return the call--no response. I've replied to texts--nothing. Or I finally get a response days later, if at all. What's most frustrating is the complete lack of follow-through. I've applied to several positions and it feels like my applications just disappear into a void with no acknowledgment or feedback whatsoever. Job searching is already stressful enough without being ignored by the very people who are supposed to help. I expected professionalism and basic communication, and unfortunately, that was not my experience. read more

The worst staffing firm I have encountered in my career as a recruiter The place I was work as a Recruiter, temporary assignment was a toxic environment. Furthermore I received pushback when I requested reasonable accomodation and the desk I sat at was not ergonomic and I have injuries to my spine and other parts of my body due to accident. I requested to change my hours to accommodate pain as the day progress. I sent them an email with a Xray of my spine. I was hit by a car crossing the street and have gone through multiple surgeries. I recieved an email from President of company I was working at through Robert Half as a Temp! I have the email in my possession and I was shocked to say the least! It stated "Dont hire no more blacks, they don't know how to show up" The same information was verbalized to my face the next morning to which I replied this is racism. The owner/president of the company said "yeah but these guys get a girl knocked up at 19 years old and don't show up for work, don't hire anymore blacks. I was terminated a week later I got a call from Valetta stating my temp assignment had ended. I shared about the email I received and the racist statements from their client. They did not seem to be concerned and I had no folllow up and they did not ask to see the racist comments! read more

Spent about 2-1/2 weeks of my life jumping through hoops for this company as I was presented with an opportunity to work for them in the accounting field (which I've worked pretty much my entire career). My initial recruiter Kim was ok. Then a second interview with a woman named Dez came. Sounds like all they needed to do was get some paperwork in line and have me meet w a third party at Robert Half. Again, this is now going on two weeks with this company, me sending marketing information and doing online tests for them, etc with still no answer as to when I will start work or even if they will be going forward with me. So like any other candidate, my job search continued and I get another opportunity presented to me at a company I went after myself. Robert Half had previously offered something I was more attracted to and I was waiting for an answer as to whether they will move forward with me because this other opportunity was put on hold. Monday morning I reached out and let Robert Half know of my opportunity and I was ASKED by Kim to STALL so we could wait to hear back drom Dez. I stalled for 4 days with no response from Dez. Finalize I got a hold of Kim who tells me Dez would like to take a "pass" on me. When I asked why...she said my excel test scores were low (I use excel every day and I requested my test results to which I still have not received them). My experience is that these people string you along and only care about their commissions. I feel this was a blessing in disguise as I may have dodged a bullet working for a terrible company. I would not recommend anyone (employer or employee) to work with Robert Half. Their loss because I'm very good ar what I do and I know I'd be requested by their clients. read more

I would like to leave a review on Talent Manager Debra Walker. She called me regarding a position {REMOTE Deductions Analyst} that I went out of my way to interview for. I interviewed with several individuals and felt the interviews were great. Obviously, I did not get the position but when I called & emailed Debra just to check and see the status of my interviews/position she never said anything back to me. I feel this is unprofessional to the potential hire. At least if you are not chosen the talent manager should follow up with you and let you know instead of totally ignoring you. I came to them because a former coworker and confidant of mine at the time recommended them. My work friend mentioned the keywords: they will work with you to get the job you want. So I took the dive. I was able to get exactly what I wanted from them and still am. Overall: Communication - open and honest dialogue, you are able to email and call your agent's cell phone directly if needed Productivity - depends on what you are looking for, in my case, I wasn't looking for anything in particular when it came to time frames or pay, I just wanted to experience whatever you had so long as it wasn't too far away. Went on an assignment for them at the end of last year, during that time I was hired for a full time job with benefits and insurance. I called and told them, got an attitude from a couple of the ladies, but I had to do what I had to do. I just called the again recently looking for work and I was told that they couldn't help me because I didn't complete that assignment..... BUT all while I was at the company they sent me to, they were calling telling me that the ppl liked and and that I was doing a great job blah, blah, blah. It's RIDICULOUS how these temp services play so many games, not having a clue what ppl are going through looking for employment to provide for there families. It has been a great experience working with Bailey Budka at Robert Half Technology! The video call introduction we had through Skype was the best way to meet a candidate face to face without the inconvenience of travel - a very creative method. In addition, she followed through with potential employment opportunities I may be a good fit for. This is more than what I get with some recruiters I've physically met after a long drive to the city. Bailey has a very pleasant demeanor and speaks very well! She has always been up front with me, keeping me posted on the progress of my candidacy at an employer, even if there is no update to provide. Though I have not been ultimately employed through Robert Half, which is the only reason why I give them 4 stars, I would not hesitate to contact Bailey anytime I need assistance with employment. I previously worked with another staffing agency when in need of a temp. They left me hanging last week, and I called Accountemps to fill the temp position for Monday. It was a one day job, nothing huge, but they saved the day for me! I was immediately transferred to someone who could help me, and very quickly they had a temp for us. They were able to put me on hold and confirm right away. I will post again once we meet the temp, hopefully that is as good of an experience as the initial assignment. read more

Not sure how they stay in business applied for a few jobs via office team website. Met with a recruiter face to face and was told my qualifications matched positions applied for. Was told should hear something by the end of the week nothing called two weeks later left a voicemail nothing. Three weeks went by got a call from a different recruiter inquiring whether I was still available they was waiting for a client to call them back again nothing. My opinion they love collecting people resumes but don't have any intentions on helping you find a job. After month and half of searching for a job and getting one with benefits. Recruiter called saying they have the perfect job for me man bite me you weren't trying to help me now all of sudden you want to go for an interview please. I wouldn't suggest Satan himself to apply nor submit a resume they are a horrible agency. read more

One of this office's big problems is communication. You never talk to the same person more than once...they make it really obvious that they are not advocates for you...but for the bottom line of the company. Once I was told I would be folding clothes setting up a new store...in the end I was carrying boxes of shoes for 8 hours - bending and maneuvering around the store doing grunt work. Well I don't know where to start. My experience with Office Team in Oak Brook, IL has been just awful. I am most disappointed. I used this agency years ago. Then in June I contacted this office asking for assistance for work and before I could finish what I was saying the receptionist said rather quickly you need to come into the office to register. I told her that I registered at least 3 times since last year and met with recruiters who every time I meet tell me that I matched several positions, but they do not get me work. A month goes by and I contacted the agency again asking for help to find work; before I could finish what I was saying I was told that I do not need to call every day; that I should call every two weeks. My mouth fell open! First of all I do not call every day. I'm not crazy. I told the receptionist I was confused because how would they know that I am available for work if I didn't communicate with someone. Then she said you need to speak with Erin then quickly forwarded me to her voicemail. Days went by and no one called me, so I called them again requesting work as they promised during my interview, which was several months prior. They ignored me as if I didn't exist, then in Sept. a recruiter contacted me with a temp. to hire position. She made it sound like an amazing opportunity. I was excited! I worked that assignment for almost 2 weeks then on Friday right before 5:00pm the recruiter called me with the bad news that the assignment had ended. She also promised that she would help me find work right away. I was distraught and in tears. She said it was not my fault. Then a few days went by, so I contacted the office and asked for her; for some reason I was forwarded to her partner and not her. Then a few weeks later she contacted me with a 5 day assignment and promised to look for work for me. She offered me an already low rate then a day before the assignment started she told me she had to lower that rate. I expressed to her that I am head of household and that I am unable to work a few days here and a few days there; and that I was seeking long term temporary to hire or direct hire positions. She literally promised me that if I take that short term assignment she would look for long term work for me in the meanwhile, which never happened. My assignment ended over 3 weeks ago and I have not worked or made any money since that day. I have been calling and calling trying to speak with her and the receptionist keeps forwarding me to voicemail. In the meanwhile without work, things are really getting tough for me and my kid. Without a job I cannot buy food, gas or even pay my bills. I am scared for us. I am now in financial hardship! I decided to move on without Office Team and search for work on my own. I feel as though I am being ignored by Office Team and that they don't care. They just want you to stop and jump whenever they call you. For the past few weeks I have posted my resume on as many search engines as possible. I go on several interviews every day. Now I am going on second interviews with a real chance of landing a permanent job, then the other day a recruiter name Xan from Office Team called me about a temporary job. His tone was very direct and forceful. Every time he called me his story was different. One day he told me that this was just a short term temp. assignment; then the next day he said the manager wanted to do a phone interview; then another day he said they wanted to do a one day working interview. Then, he called saying that he could only afford to pay me a rate that was minimum wage, which was most insulting because I am a professional candidate with top-notch skills, experience and a BA degree; that rate was the lowest I have ever made since high school. I expressed to him that since Office Team failed to return my calls and ignored me all of these weeks, I am now in the process of loosing my car and housing if I don't find work fast! Since Office Team hasn't assisted me with my job search as promised, I had no other choice but to move on without them. I personally cannot believe this is a real business. I decided to take matters into to my own hands and register with other agencies, plus post my resume on various search engines. I told Xan that as a result of my hard work I have second interviews scheduled for a permanent job. He had the nerves to ask me to cancel my second interviews, then he became argumentative and unprofessional with me. He also refused to give me the job description, which was a red flag. I just don't know what to think about this agency. I guess I can say that back in 2000, this agency used to be really professional and they were diligent about getting you work. Since then, this agency has gone completely down hill! I'm not sure where they are hiring recruiters from because they can care less about you; they are only out for themselves. I was employed through officeteam for about 6 months. First of all, they didn't interview me or anything, just sent me off to take a drug test and shoved me in the doors. They didn't know if it was casual dress, they didn't know the hours I would be working, they didn't know anything. Communication during the assignment was ridiculous. The same person never contacted me more than once, so w/ each new person I had to explain everything over and over. No one ever knew what was going on w/ me. When I wanted a raise, they didn't even ask the company, I had to do it. When I told them I was looking for another job, they ended my assignment immediately and conveniently a week before I would've been able to draw benefits. They didn't even try to find another assignment for me, they just ended it. The guy I was forced to talk to put me down and told me that I should have never refused work, but he didn't even know the situation. I was looking for a new job, and the project they wanted me to do was very complex and I was going to leave at literally any moment. He was a condescending jerk. He also never called me by my real name, he always called me by my last name b/c he is an idiot and didn't pay attention to how my name read apparently. (Last name listed first) He wasn't even the recruiter who got me for the job; she never contacted me, except for maybe twice in the 1st month or two I was there. This agency is horrible, just like all the others around here. TRY TO GET A JOB W/ THE COMPANY AND AVOID STAFFING AGENCIES ALL TOGETHER. I'VE BEEN BURNED BY ALL OF THEM. THEY DON'T HELP YOU AT ALL, THEY JUST SHOVE YOU INTO A POSITION. ALSO, DON'T BOTHER APPLYING TO THEIR JOBS B/C THEY ONLY REVIEW THE 1ST TWO OR THREE RESUMES AND THEN SEND PEOPLE OVER. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT MATCHES, THEY JUST WANT TO GET PAID. read more

Accountemps put me in a very bad position. after helping me fill a position for an employee on temporary leave, I shared with my client contact an issue I was having with an under performing employee. While I was away on a business trip, an accountemps representative called the office to speak to me. After learning that I was out of town, this person dialed the extension of the under performing employee and tried to pitch resumes to the under performing for that position. Very unprofessional and I never got as much as an apology. read more

I have been working Office Team for almost 2 years. I really enjoy the variety of working with different companies and learning different skills. Erin at the Oak brook office has been very helpful . I like that they call me every week to check how I am doing me when I am on assignment. So far, the positions have been temporary, but am hoping to secure a F/T permanent position shortly.
