One of the things that made Robert stand out the most was how interactive his show was. He didn't just perform tricks while people watched; he actively brought guests into the magic. Several of the kids got to help with tricks, and seeing their faces light up when the magic happened right in their hands was priceless. He also invited adults to participate, which made the whole experience feel personal and memorable rather than just a typical performance. Also, these were not just the normal boring magic tricks. I have been to many Vegas Magic Shows, and in my opinion, this was better as it was more interactive and right in front of you. His sense of humor was fantastic. Robert had the whole room laughing with his quick wit and playful personality. He knew exactly how to keep the energy up while making everyone feel comfortable and included. The balance he struck between comedy and mind-blowing magic was perfect -- just when we thought we had figured out a trick, he would surprise us with an ending that left the entire room stunned. The magic itself was truly impressive. He performed a mix of close-up magic and group tricks that felt almost impossible to explain. At one point he performed a trick right in front of us, inches away, and even the most skeptical guests were completely baffled. People were still talking about it long after the show ended, trying to figure out how he did it, and even attempted them for hours after. Another thing we really appreciated was how kind and patient he was with the children. Instead of rushing through the show, he made sure each child who volunteered felt special and included. It was clear he genuinely enjoys performing and connecting with people, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, having Robert Ray perform at our party was one of the highlights of the entire celebration. He helped create such a joyful, magical atmosphere that brought everyone together. People are still talking about how he made one of our doctors levitate! The next occasion I had him out was Christmas with my family and kids, and he was wonderful with them. He truly made the holiday magical and was extra kind and patient with my nephew who has autism. We had so much fun with him on Christmas that we booked him for an adult only party on New Year's, and again blown away with new tricks (his book trick is out of this world). And last we had him over for a small intimate gathering, where we really truly got to see his magic up close and personal. I wanted to make it a point of detailing the different times we've interacted with Robert Ray, because he has performed across a variety of settings and has always left us wondering how he does it! My husband and i were very specific about not wanting the "used car salesman" type of DJ. We met Josh, and knew instantly things were going to be perfect. He really listened to our wants and needs when we met at the venue, and had some great ideas that we hadn't thought of. His suggestion for the colored uplighting was perfect! I was a bit hesitant at first - I didn't want it to feel "prom-like". But that day, and in the photos, I could not have asked for anything better!! He did the perfect number of lights, in exactly the right spots. It was a bit of highlighting, and nicely understated. Josh provided the photo booth we used. We knew we wanted one, and he was able to include it for the event. On top of alllllll the fun photos of people wandering around with the props on, he also provided a "guest book" of photos and writing (yearbook style) from our guests. He actually gave it to us as we were leaving the reception. It was wonderful to have that through the honeymoon, and following weeks. (Our professional photos took a bit to receive, and this was a wonderful momento to have with us.) He was very patient with my specific music lists and tastes. Including during dinner....i had decided I wanted dinner to be specifically Frank Sinatra style while dinner was happening. He was very sweet, patient, and played exactly the perfect music!! All Josh's announcements, and music timing, we utterly perfect. We had a small wedding (27 people) ranging in age from 12-72. The dance floor was full the entire night. I would recommend him again, and again, and again, and again.....and again! As another highlight, almost a year later we still have people commenting on how wonderful, and refreshing, the DJ was. He went above and beyond for us, and helped make our wedding perfect! He is responsive to emails, prompt, professional, and incredibly warm and friendly. He worked closely with the wedding coordinator to make sure that they had shared all the pertinent details, had a solid timeline, and generally kept things running smoothly. He even came to our rehearsal to make sure that everything would be correct the next day. For the ceremony, he actually created a song for us when we were having trouble picking recessional music; my husband and I liked the opening flourish of one song, but the main body of a different song, so Andy beautifully blended them so we could have the best of both! It was exactly what we imagined, and he provided it when we didn't even think it was possible. He was great at the reception as well. He kept the music happy and upbeat, focusing mainly on the music that my husband and I told him we liked. He also is great about abiding by the "Do NOT Play" list, if you ask him. The reception was a ton of fun, and Andy did an excellent job of keeping peoples' energy up and making people want to be on the dance floor all night. It was great! Fair concern. How he handled himself after was appalling. He was yelling at my daughter who was the bride. He towered over her by at least 1.5'. He unplugged all his stuff in front of all the seated guests and by the time he was done yelling, the sprinkles stopped. We had to find a song to play on an iPhone for My daughter to walk down the aisle. The video and photographers were prepared and he was not. He then tried to get the video guy and the 2 photographers to walk out with him. I'd never recommend this guy.
