I recently went to an event with a DJ from this company and the girl was rude and almost like changing the vibe on purpose, she would play a great song and everyone would stand up and dance and then change it ti a slow song and everyone would go and sit and she wouldn't care, she would just keep playing all the songs. Looking back at these reviews I realize why I chose to go with this company for my wedding and am perplexed at why my experience was so different. I never did meet Eric, but I really felt great about choosing Got You Covered after my meeting with Sloane. She assured me that this was a top notch outfit and that ALL of their DJs were highly professional and organized. NOT Initially, our DJ was slow to respond to emails, which was the first red flag. I scheduled a meeting with our venue, caterer and DJ. He was 15 minutes late to the meeting and later explained that he had a late night gig and a spin class earlier in the day. He was unprepared for the meeting asking us about our first dance, etc. I had already filled this out in their portal but he said that he didn't really use the portal for a wedding our size (70 ppl). I reached back out to Sloane to express my concerns and she assured me that he was going to do a great job for us. My understanding and expectation was that he would coordinate the entire evening and reach out to our vendors with a timeline, etc. He never reached out to anyone. During the wedding/reception, he played the wrong music during processional, and played one song three times during dinner, once back to back. The only good music was what I had selected. Everything else was the same tired music you hear at every wedding. The entire evening felt uncoordinated. He did not engage our guests beyond a game of "who eats first." Guests did not know where to get their food or what was coming next. We toasted our guests and wanted to open the floor to anyone who wanted to toast us. He left the mic on our sweetheart table up on stage so guests would have to come up if they wanted to say anything. It was extremely awkward. He forgot dessert and when I mentioned it, told me it was not on his agenda (which I admit I approved but he had received the plan via email, his preferred method of communication). The ONLY thing I worried about the entire evening was my DJ. He was disengaged and disinterested and it showed. The worst part is that I was asked to complete a survey when all was said and done. I did this, mentioning much of what is here. I followed up a week later asking if they had received my survey and three weeks later, no one has responded. Even knowing I had concerns upfront, no follow up. Thus, the unfortunate need for this review. Beware. read more

I used Got You Covered last weekend for my wedding! Our DJ, David Scott, was absolutely fantastic. We got married on a golf course and intended to have our reception outside as well. A massive storm came through and we had to switch things up day of and turn a completely outdoor wedding into a somewhat covered wedding with tents, umbrellas, etc. David's plans had to change 3 hours prior to our ceremony due to the rain. He was incredibly flexible and did an amazing job. He was knowledgeable, kind, and all together a great addition! Not only was he helpful day of, he helped me during my last couple months of planning and provided good ideas and insight. Eric at Got You Covered! was the master of ceremonies for our wedding and I have to say as far as DJs go, you couldn't ask for better. Eric is fabulous! He was open to all of my and mu hubby's oddball ideas, he rolled with the spur of the moment changes and he kept the party going. So many of our guests said that our reception was the best that they had ever attended and I have to attribute a large part of the praise to Eric. DJ Eric was absolutely INCREDIBLE for our wedding this May in Tucson!! Eric worked closely with us before hand (he made it work with us livign in San Francisco!) to ensure that not only the music fit our tastes perfectly, but that the logistics went smoothly as well. We were pretty specific about the music (the theme changed across cocktail hour / dinner / dancing) and Eric modeled the playlists so appropriately. I remember looking around at my cocktail hour and the "indie LA" vibe I had asked for was executed to a tee. He also worked closely with our planner to ensure that we were not thinking about any coordination/logistics on the day of, and simply got to hvae fun. Eric and DJ Hunter really shined during the dance party, where he got people rallied to go do the horah, and had a really fun (planned with us) surprise of confetti cannons during it! We've had multiple people tell us that they've never seen a crazier dance floor at a wedding, and that can't happen without the music being awesome. This is my first time leaving reviews of any kind, but after my wedding experience, I felt it was important to give credit where credit was due. Based on a referral, I selected Got You Covered as the DJ company for our wedding. The owner, Eric, and his daughter, Jamie, were a pleasure to work with. They were excited and dedicated to making the experience amazing from day one. Since I live out of state and my time in Arizona was limited, Eric helped by doing the initial meeting via FaceTime. He was so easy to talk to and I was comfortable with him right away. Jamie was my main point of contact via email and she was great at sending all the details, replying to my questions and following up to see how things were going. The music portal they use was great. I could log in and add do not play or must play songs, so the DJ could get a feel for our music preferences. Steven Valdez is an amazing DJ. He is energetic, kind and clearly wanted to make the day memorable for us. Since we live out of town, he did a FaceTime meeting with us to go over the time line and music preference. He was great at asking questions, so he could come up with the perfect play list. On the day of, he was interactive, lively and did a great job at transitioning us from one environment to the next. He also did a great job at catering to all demographics, so everyone could enjoy the environment he created. All around, the experience from beginning to end was wonderful with Got You Covered and I am glad they could be part of such a special day. read more

Got You Covered was tremendous! We met them at the Arizona Bridal Expo. From the moment my now-husband and I met DJ Eric, the process with Got You Covered was the easiest out of all of our vendors. They first selected a package that was geared towards the vibe that we wanted our wedding to be and didn't try to sell us items that we didn't need. Then their staff checked in with us throughout the process, asking how we were doing and even sending us each a bride and groom "Wedding Day" playlist to listen to the morning of the wedding. Then there was our actual DJ, Cordero. Cordero was amazing from our meeting, to sticking to our timeline, and getting everyone super involved on our day. Sloane is as true to the word "professional" as one can get. She is focused and provides you her undivided attention making you feel you are her only client. From impromptu phone calls, to quick email responses, she was there for us every step of the way, offering thoughts, alternatives, different points of views, while being thoughtful to all family members. I got married at an all inclusive venue where Got You Covered was the DJ company contracted out to us. They were the only option for our wedding date so we didn't have any other options. We hoped they would be great. We were engaged for over a year and a half and booked our venue a month after we got engaged. We never heard from the company or the DJ and had to reach out to them 12 days before our wedding, when they refused to reach out to us after being contacted multiple times by our venue. The owner or whoever we talked to is extremely condescending and laughed the entire time I was sobbing on the phone. Once we had our DJ assigned, we had one meeting one week before our big day and then received no communication until the night before our wedding when the DJ was emailing me. Very poor communication, very unprofessional, stressed me out unnecessarily the week and night before my wedding. Then I found out the DJ was rude to my sister at the wedding, who was my maid of honor. Do not hire this company for your event, you will be disappointed. read more

Eric was conscientious of asking how to get his equipment into the venue without disturbing surrounding guests and even came loaded down with theme materials for our decorations. Eric was great at our wedding! He met with us and helped us create the music for our ceremony and reception. He confirmed everything a few days prior and was very organized! He put up with my last minute changes the day of and was very creative in jump starting the dance floor when it needed a pick me up. He also made us 2 cd's with all the special songs from our day! The good: before my wedding this company was really fun, organized, and professional. When I met with Paige they offered my friend and I shots, we got to try out the photo booth, and play with their really cute dog. They worked with my budget and gave really great suggestions how the night should go i.e. timeline, activities, etc. The bad: I ordered pink up lighting and the dj brought purple up lighting. It still drives me crazy looking back at my pictures. For our first dance song I wanted Shania Twain, from this moment. But he played a version where she talks for about 15-30secs before the actual song starts so I thought he was playing the wrong song at first. Plus my husband and I are NOT dancers so we were not thrilled we had to dance like we were at prom longer than we had to. Also, during a song I requested that my bridesmaids and I like to dance to the music stopped in the middle of the song, and he had to restart his laptop. Talk about a buzz kill. I ordered a photo booth and didn't like the blue background so I bought gold streamers that I hung up. Not even half way through the night they fell down and the photo booth attendants did nothing to help hang it back up or get it out of the way. It laid there on the floor for everyone to trip on. My dj also played slow songs back to back every time. It's definitely awkward slow dancing through two songs and most ppl walked off the dance floor once the second slow song came on. I would suggest saving your money and go with one of the less expensive dj companies. I thought I did my research and picked one of the best dj companies but you just never know how it will go. read more
