I'm not photogenic. After decades of hating photos of myself I've come to accept it. So when it was…read moretime to renew my passport I decided to go to the famous Eliz Digital to get the best possible photo of myself. I discovered them in a Gothamist article where people praised at how professional looking the photos were. I figured that this would be my best shot at not looking at a photo that I hate for the next 10 years. If you're remotely photogenic then your photo will probably look like a professional head shot. If you're like me you will accept that your eyes look like Cash Patel's because you can't see without your glasses. The photographer took a couple of photos to choose from. I deferred to her judgement about which one was best. Paid cash since it's cash only. I opted for the digital photo since I was renewing my passport online. My photo was emailed the next day. I'm a very satisfied customer even though I have crazy eyes.

However, Eliz Digital was friendly, well-priced, and quick! I cannot state enough how clearly my 35mm photos came out -- no grain or mistakes to be found (a problem I've had with other labs). Also, in addition to printing, they also scan the photos and email them to you! Note they are cash only. I will be back to develop more film, and to get my passport photo taken here! After seeing some people's passport photos (and seeing these same people in the flesh), I can confirm -- this place has figured out the right lighting, posing etc to create STUNNING passport photos.

This family-owned business is hands down the best film photo lab in NYC. I've been coming here for…read moreover five years to have my film developed and scanned, and every visit has been consistently excellent. From the moment I walk in the door, I feel genuinely welcomed. On my most recent visit, I had the chance to speak with the owner, Nisha, who couldn't have been kinder or more warm. She even surprised me with a delicious bottle of wine as a thank-you for being a long-time customer, which honestly says everything about how much they value the people who support them. Their turnaround time is always fast, and I love that they use WeTransfer to deliver scans directly to my email. The quality of their work is remarkable, and I truly can't imagine trusting my film to any other lab. Thank you, Bleeker Digital Solutions, and congratulations on 26 years in business. Well deserved.

Unfortunately, my experience here was disappointing. I found Anil Kumar, the owner, to be…read moreunprofessional and dismissive from the start. His tone was demanding, and I felt spoken down to rather than treated respectfully as a customer. After doing some research, I learned he has owned this business for 38 years, which made the lack of professionalism even more surprising. The pricing also raised concerns. The costs were very high, and the math did not seem to add up. It felt as though some customers are being overcharged. I also noticed inconsistent service--one individual regularly drops off large amounts of film and receives it almost immediately, while others wait an excessive amount of time, even when their orders appear to be ready. That said, the staff members working here are clearly hardworking, and the cashier was kind and respectful. I appreciate the effort of the employees and do not fault them. While this place benefits from its tourist location and social media attention, my personal experience did not reflect the hype. With improved professionalism, fair pricing, and more consistent turnaround times, this business could be much better. As it stands, I would rate it 2/5.

I was dealing with a serious issue--my CPU was overheating to the point where I couldn't even play my games. I had already contacted ASUS, and they told me I would need to send my computer in for repair, which would have left me without it for weeks. I also visited several Best Buy locations, but unfortunately, no one was able to help me solve the problem. When I came to B&H, I immediately noticed something different about the staff. They're not just employees--they're true technology enthusiasts who genuinely love what they do. While I was browsing, Ron approached me and asked if I needed help. I explained my situation, and from that moment on, everything changed. Ron really listened to me. He didn't rush me or treat me like just another customer--he took the time to fully understand the issue. Using his own knowledge and expertise, he walked me through the problem step by step, giving me his full attention the entire time. What stood out the most was how relatable and genuine he was--it felt like I was talking to a real person who actually cared, not just someone doing their job. After following his guidance, I went home and turned on my computer--and it was running perfectly. I can't even describe how relieved and happy I felt. It honestly meant a lot to me that someone took the time to help like that. On top of that, the rest of the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating on my way out, which just added to the overall experience. Because of this, I'll definitely be coming back to B&H for all of my technology needs. Huge thank you to Ron and the entire team.

Was cussing just to say "bad" words which doesn't bother me but come on really keep it somewhat professional. Then the real problem, I simply wanted to get some screws replaced that are corroded or get an idea of the price. Nope told no you don't need to replace them and just wait until it gets worse before fixing a small problem to solve a bigger one down the road. Legit just looked at it and said it's only corrosion on the screw head, which I'm not sure how you can tell there is not corrosion on the body without removing the screw. Forgetting the fact that once the chemical process starts it doesn't stop and will continue to get worse. I also had to wait so I got to hear also how he interacted with other customers and safe to say it was not great especially the people in front of me who seems new to photography. Would be far better off just going to B&H if you're new or looking for gear.

Then they opened a return, claiming the camera was defective because the screen didn't turn off automatically. This was a simple setting in the menu. I even sent them a screen shot of the manual showing exactly what setting to change. I got an incoherent message from "Manuel" saying they closed the return, but they actually did not and sent it back anyway. You'd think that people who sold cameras professionally would be able to navigate a settings menu, but apparently not. I can only surmise that they are yet another typical unethical New York photo store and returned it as "'defective" because they wanted to save on postage, since in defect returns, eBay makes the seller eat both the original and return shipping. I thought this kind of behavior had gone the way of the dodo when most of these outfits were killed off by the digital revolution, but apparently not.
