I have been using Dr Feil for over 20 years, and I have to say the most recent service I had gotten was the best ever !

I have been a patient with Dr. Feil for almost three years now, so I think it is fair time to write a review. His practice is as good as any I have ever had; good administrative staff; good hygienists, and a great dentist in Dr. Feil. They care about doing a good job, care about how much their services actually cost their patients, and care about keeping you healthy (and pretty too). As an anecdote, they once provided a discount due to a long wait, which 1) has never happened at any other medical office, and 2) was only a long wait in comparison to their normally exceptional efficiency. I started going to Dr. Feil becaus my previous dentist's front office person was completely insane (and not in a good way). I was nervous about switching dentists because we all know this is either a really good experience or a really bad experience. Thankfully mine was a really good experience. He didn't freak me out at all and he didn't hurt my mouth. He was helpful in some suggestions to questions I had, too. I'm glad I switched! I forgot to add that my previous dentist wanted to do surgery on my mouth and remove the bones that are on the bottom inside part of my mouth (under my tongue) because they are large. I asked Dr. Feil about this and he was more than surprised. He said it "might be necessary when you get old, if then, but not right now". THANK YOU!! There were other things about my old dentist that I felt were just money generating charges. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Feil for 10 years. I have always had great experience's and the staff has always been wonderful. Recently I went in and had a cleaning and it was a extra good cleaning. The gentlemen really took his time. I also asked to have my teeth whitened and they worked me that day. My teeth are much whiter!! The best part of the experience is the friendly and competent staff... I will continue to drive across the city to Dr. Feil!! read more

I too found Feil on Yelp, and my first visit was an excellent one. My nurse was very chatty, but I felt very comfortable while I was getting my teeth cleaned. The nurse asked whether I wanted an extra fluoride treatment, and when I asked what the benefits were she was honest with me and told me I didn't really need it. read more

He's a wonderful dentist and person. I typically hate the dentist, but Dr. Feil and his staff are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. They are highly skilled and personable. I have been a patient of Dr. Robert Feil for quite awhile. I have always found his staff warm, friendly and caring. He has always shown concern for my dental needs. He is personable enough to talk to and always takes me in the right direction. One of his oral hygentist, Albert has always shown concern and done a great job on my teeth. I have never been disappointed or let down. If you're looking for a dentist that cares as well as his staff then I recommend Dr. Feil. He has taken away all my fear of dentist and I no longer fear going to one. Keep into thought that if you show up early, they will try and get you in, but you were early. read more

Very nice office but they cancel your appointment on the day of WAY too often. I am a new patient this year and for the second time in two appointments I have had my appointment cancelled due to an "emergency". I will be finding a new dentist and would not recommend Dr Feil unless you enjoy being jerked around. read more

I was a patient at this office for almost ten years and originally went to Dr. Feil due to his stellar Yelp reviews. Everything was great for a long time. Then about two years ago things started to change. One of the great things about this practice is that they open at 7:30. I always scheduled 7:30 appointments so that I could be done and in to work at a reasonable time. The problem with this is that when they cancel one of these appointments on you 8 minutes before the scheduled time, you are most likely already in their parking lot. This happened to me. Twice. In a row. That is, I was cancelled on at the last minute and then my rescheduled appointment was also cancelled. Now, I get it, sometimes people are sick (first cancellation) and sometimes there are dental emergencies (second cancellation). But at that point, I felt like they owed me something more than just a terse "Sorry, we have to cancel your appointment. When do you want to reschedule for?" And each time you're talking about waiting a minimum of another month to get a new appointment. While this was my major gripe, they also hired a hygienist who doesn't live up to the gentle dentistry mentioned in the office name and also likes to lecture (sometimes ridiculously) about proper dental hygiene. When I said that I flossed every day, I was told that was the bare minimum and I should really do it two or three times a day. Really?!?! I guess there's no pleasing some people. But ultimately, that's the thing - there supposed to be pleasing me, not the other way around. I'm giving three stars because I still think Dr. Feil is a good dentist and the office doesn't have the outlandish prices of some places. Luckily though, I moved out of state and no longer have to deal with cancellations and holier than thou hygienists. read more

I have used Dr Feil for about ten years now and i am finally quitting. he cancels on you last minute and i believe he might have some sort of alcohol dependency. I was in today and he seemed to be drunk. I have refereed my friends and family here and all of them have switched due to him always cancelling. I would never refer someone here again. read more

I found Dr Feil on Yelp, checked that my insurance covers him, and had my first appt today - it went great. I didn't even call until yesterday to make an appt, and 24 hrs later, I was in the chair. Once I got to the office (which was a little difficult to find, I at first missed 107 W Paces), I filled out some paper work and they took me right back, no wait! It had been almost 4 years since my last dentist appt (who happened to be my childhood dentist, he was great! But I haven't had insurance since then ... I digress), so they took a plethora of xrays, and then the hygenist (Maryann) was very gentle and thorough in cleaning my teeth. She was very nice, and made good conversation (though I couldn't respond very well of course haha). They didn't try to upsell me on anything, Dr Feil did make a few suggestions, but that it was totally up to me if I wanted to go through with any of them (and they were things I was going to ask about anyway!). He recommended me to an orthodontist (the same one he goes to) that I'll def be calling. Otherwise, I look forward to seeing him in 6 months! read more

I would think twice before making this your new your dental office. I hope and pray that everyone in the office was just having a bad day. I had to wait for about 20 minutes (which is worth noting because the office only gives you a 15 minute grace period if you're running late). I found the hygienist to be very cold and heavy handed. I've never experienced such pain. It seems like she only applied more pressure when I complained. Dr. Feil was very cold and impersonal. Again, I would think twice before coming here. read more

Really love Dr. Feil's office. I have had a couple of run ins with dentists telling me I have cavities that didn't exist so I am very particular about who I will go see. After reading Dr. Feil's reviews, I made an appointment about a year and a half ago, and I have been very happy. My appointments have been what dentist appointments should be like..no fuss and as stress-free as can be expected. And to respond to some of the other reviews - yes, Dr. Feil will tell you if you are doing something that is doing damage to your teeth. Isn't that what you are paying him to do? Besides, he would be negligent if he didn't. read more

I had a great first experience at Dr. Feil's office. I want to compliment everybody I came in contact with. The front desk staff immediately welcomed me as a first-time patient. Bridgette, the assistant hygienist, helped me instantly retrieve my dental records from my previous dentist, and Albert was the most thorough hygienist I ever experienced. Albert made me feel comfortable by explaining exactly what he was doing through the cleaning, and Dr. Feil put a mirror in my hand to show me the specific problems he saw with my teeth. I would NOT recommend this office. During my last appointment, I left feeling as though I was trying to be tricked into unnecessary work. I was first told by Dr. Feil that I "had a rough filling" then was escorted out for an appointment to be scheduled without any further explanation. I asked the receptionist to explain what she was trying to schedule... she told me that "it was a rough filling in one of my K9's that needed to be removed and replaced." But, funny thing is, I don't have any fillings in any of my K9's. I told her that... she then changed her story to tell me that my K9 was "chipped". Not personally aware that my K9 was chipped, I asked her to take me to a mirror to look at it. She then pointed out "see, the bottom is rough, not smooth". I said, "he basically wants to smooth the bottom of my tooth, correct?" She said yes & told me that it was purely cosmetic. Haha! Her story went from a bad filling, to a chipped tooth, to finally admitting that what her and the doctor were trying to schedule me for was purely cosmetic. Not good. read more

I Absolutely LOVE Dr. Feil and his staff. I have extremely bad teeth and have to visit the dentist on a regular basis. Before going to Dr. Feil I had been to many other dentists and I can say with complete confidence that I will never go to any other dentist! From the second I walk in the door (beautiful office btw) I am treated as though I am the most important patient. I have never felt even the slightest bit rushed and I have never waited in the waiting room for more than 5 minutes. The dental work has been absolutely flawless and as painless as root canals and fillings can possibly be. On my first visit Dr. Feil sat with me and set up a plan of how to conquer my cavities and prevent from getting more! He was extremely patient and explained everything I needed to be doing and exactly what the "plan of attack" was to be. I can not stress enough that whether you need just a regular teeth cleaning (the hygienists are awesome) or a root canal, this is the dentist to see! I wish I can give a better review, but it's not the case. My husband & I attended this office for 2 years and we were satisfied with our routine dental cleanings. However, when I started experiencing sensitivity issues with my molar tooth it took Dr. Feil about a year to recognize that I had more serious issues going on & he referred me to an endodontist who said I needed a root canal that he would perform & NOT Dr. Feil. I was really upset that for almost a year I dealt with the pain in my tooth just to later learn it could have been avoided had Dr. Feil been more diligent in his work. He actually advised me during this time to change my toothpaste to the original paste (like the old days) without any extras, such as whitening, crystals, etc. He told me that it was my toothpaste choice that was causing the sensitivity & that once I change to using the [plain toothpaste] my problem would subside. As for my husband, Dr. Feil told my husband that he has a 'hairline' fracture on his molar tooth; that if he didn't have it filled he would definitely result in having a root canal done. Well needless to say, my husband took Dr. Feil's advice (unfortunately) & had his tooth filled. When Dr. Feil did the actual filling, he drilled too deeply exposing the nerve in my husband's tooth (causing severe sensitivity) which now required the only means to stop the pain is a root canal [what we were trying to avoid in the first place by having the filling done & by Dr. Feil's advice]. Not only did we pay for a botched-job of having a filling done by the advice of Dr. Feil but we're also faced with the high-expense of a root canal; as well as Dr. Feil refusing to accept responsibility for his actions saying, "These things happen." As a result, we've left Dr. Feil's office & we've moved our family to the Nanston Dental Group and we are extremely pleased with the services we've received with their dental staff in having [both] root canals performed. We've also used their pedadontist (if I'm spelling that correctly) for our 2-year-old son (pediatrics) & this office offers all your dental needs for the entire family in one building (very professional & friendly service provided). read more
