Unless you want to deal with the…read moremost incompetent group of individuals, I wouldn't recommend this cesspool of an office to anyone. I drove half an hour to my appointment just to be told I couldn't be seen because they don't accept my SECONDARY insurance. They take my primary insurance (which, mind you, I've never had an issue with--it's Blue Cross Blue Shield), but since my secondary is Medi-Cal, they refused to see me--even when I suggested removing that insurance and paying whatever fees were needed out of pocket. My issue isn't even that they don't take my insurance; it's that they didn't ask for it prior to my appointment, so I would have known not to waste an hour of my life on this sad excuse for a doctor's office . By the way, this is the first bad review I've ever left in my life, but I had to warn anyone who sees this for my own sanity...

For the first 2 appointments I waited 45 minutes, for the 3rd appointment I waited 65 minutes to get in to see the Dr. I had this procedure done in 2017 & everything went well. Dr. Lin is incredible. I was suffering from left knee pain and initially saw another orthopedic…read moresurgeon at a large orthopedic office. That surgeon did not do knee replacements, but was able to tell me I needed a total knee replacement. When I started to look around for a new orthopedic surgeon, I ruled some out as they were difficult to contact and I was not impressed by their appointment system. I ended up seeing Dr. Lin because not only are his credentials impeccable, but his staff is extremely responsive - they answer calls within 1-3 rings, they are extremely easy to deal with, setting appointments and answering questions quickly and responsively, they helped set me up with paperwork to take to AAA for a disabled placard, and they are just overall a really friendly bunch. I had a Mako assisted robotic total knee replacement on Friday last week and the doctor called me the next day (I wasn't expecting a call on the weekend and it was wonderful and reassuring to hear from him the dat after this major surgery). He has done an excellent job making me feel taken care of, from my initial visit when I was anxious and crying about having surgery; to some things I wanted to try before I was ready to leap into surgery (hyaluronic acid shots, and PRP shots); and, when it seemed surgery was the only answer to my issues, sending me to prehab PT to get my body as ready for surgery as possible. The whole process has made me feel I am in excellent hands. Thank you, Dr. Lin and staff!

Among the injuries I sustained, the most significant were skull base fractures and fractures of my orbit, which led the emergency doctors to diagnose me with traumatic optic neuropathy. After consultations with maxillofacial specialists and ophthalmologists, I was told I was legally blind, 20/230, and that this was now my life. Devastated, I reached out to Dr. Lin who was highly referred by a longtime family friend. She felt he and his team should see me and offer other opinions. While Western medicine may refer to Dr. Lin as a "physical therapist," I don't think that language fully defines what he does. At our first meeting, he was gentle, attentive, and deeply aware of my condition. His method is difficult for me to fully articulate, but it was unlike anything the physicians I had seen before had provided. Dr. Lin created a treatment plan in collaboration with his in-house acupuncturist, Dr. Park, and the two of them treated me in concert. I visited them about once a month. Dr. Park performed acupuncture targeting specific hemispheres they agreed would be beneficial, while Dr. Lin used manual techniques, pressing, pulling, and adjusting different parts of my face and body. One moment stands out clearly in my memory. As Dr. Park had acupuncture needles placed in the points she selected, Dr. Lin pressed a section of my face under my eye with significant pressure. The instant he released, my nasal passage cleared dramatically. I had been so focused on my vision that I ignored other parts of my body that also needed attention. This is what impressed me most: their understanding of the interconnectedness of the human body, and the way each system affects the next. Even though I came in focused on a single issue, they recognized that other problems could be developing or stagnating and that treating one area would likely set off a domino effect. They addressed everything collectively rather than isolating one symptom. Dr. Park also gave me homework: changes to my diet, foods to avoid, preferred cooking methods, and even the temperature of liquids I should consume. Detailed instructions that had never been offered nor had I considered. Western medicine had only offered me chemical treatments or surgeries to remove or implant. Dr. Lin was one of the few who was relieved I had not had a surgery and was not taking medication. In my most desperate moment, when the reality of vision loss was fresh and overwhelming, they helped keep hope alive. I am happy to say that I have since improved to 20/40 vision. Slowly, every day I feel a little better. I am not claiming that Dr. Park and Dr. Lin performed miracles. What I do believe is that the treatment they provided stimulated something meaningful in my recovery. Maybe I would have healed to this extent without them, maybe not. But I wholeheartedly feel that their treatment encouraged my body to heal itself. I am four months removed from the incident, I have my vision back and I feel great. Recovery is not complete, but I am in a place now that my Ophthalmologist told me never to expect. Thank you to both Dr. Lin and Dr. Park. I could not be more grateful.

I finally get the hype! Dr. Erikson is SUPER knowledgeable and I literally felt and saw immediate results which was shocking. We all know shoulder injuries are complex because of all the muscles in the shoulders but he almost knew immediately what the issue was and made me laugh through the most painful parts (which was really minimal if I'm being honest). He also did an overall check and found that my back is also not in mint condition as I can see by one of my legs being shorter than the other. The way that he explained and showed what was going on and what he's trying to do made me feel so comfortable for my first adjustment. And about that massage... well the massage was DEEP - this is not your relaxing spa day but it is healing! Another thing I value about this office, aside from it being SUPER clean, is that they do not push you to spend your money. Yes, you have to pay for your treatment but there is no pressure to come more than you want to even if the Doctor recommends more. This makes me trust them even more so I'm happy to call Dr. Erikson my doctor that is going to see me through recovery! I can't wait to give an update once I'm further along in care. Thank you to Dr. Erikson and the entire team for the amazing experience!

That office told me I was fine, gave me a boot and told me to walk on my ankle. I couldn't put any pressure at all on that leg so I got a second opinion. That doctor said I needed surgery but didn't give any explanation and I felt very pressured and rushed without questions answered. Dr. Kaplan was my third specialist. He was very professional, showed me measurements of how large my break was on X-rays and showed and explained my break was past the point of not needing surgery. We scheduled the surgery and to say I was terrified would be an understatement. The morning of surgery everyone on staff was beyond amazing and he too made me relaxed. He was very transparent and said it would take 9-12 months to be able to run again. I was very aggressive with physical therapy (obeying doctor orders of course and not being unsafe for recovery) and I was back to running in 3 months! It wasn't a completely terrible visit - but it certainly could've been better. OC Podiatry's Irvine office is now based off Sand Canyon/Alton, in the Hoag Hospital Complex - my first visit was at an office off Barranca Pkwy, behind the Green Burrito. Their Hoag office is a fancy setting - modern facility, with plenty of parking - conveniently located off the 405/5. Dr. Coyer wasn't available, so I met with Dr. Tien instead. Dr. Tien was thorough, provided several treatment options for my ingrown toenail (owie) - including a partial nail removal, which was what I ultimately went forward with. While she was friendly, I definitely felt the three pokes while she injected the local anesthetic into my big toe. The actual nail-cutting wasn't completely painless (which you'd think it would be considering the anesthesia). I like to think I have a relatively high pain tolerance level too, considering I had all of my wisdom teeth removed under local, instead of general anesthesia. No major issues with the procedure - not knocking off any stars for that. The issue is the post-op/after visit. Despite being considered "in-network" - I had to pay for everything - the visit and the procedure - upfront, and in full. There wasn't any explanation from the clerk as to why or if my insurance was insufficient. This was new to me - and I think I have decent insurance, it's Blue Cross PPO - I usually see other specialists with a low copay. Luckily I was able to cover the fee - which was several hundred dollars - but getting some sort of price estimate before the procedure is performed, would've been nice. Or a heads up that they expect the full payment upfront. With follow-up questions on whether I need to file the claim with my insurance or not - I tried to reach out to the office, only to get a long winded voice message redirecting me to a loop - same voice message plays regardless of what number I press. It seems like the only way to get a hold of the office is via text only. Which is frustrating - especially when it's regarding something that is probably more efficiently resolvable speaking over the phone vs. texting. So what started off as a great experience - eventually dwindled down to a "could've been better" experience. If you need to see a foot doctor for whatever reason - Drs. Coyer or Tien are great. But just be prepared to deal with the "after" - unless yours is a simple and straightforward visit.
