Good people, good service. My father was right.

I can tell you from experience you don't wanna take your vehicle to this body shop…read more The staff there they lie to you they never contact you when something's wrong or they gotta order another part. I took it to the dealership because I didn't believe them where I bought my car and they said those was the original parts so stay away. I hit a pothole and had to replace that tire. The other ones were worn so replaced all four. They…read morewere helpful and friendly. I ordered through tire rack and tires were sent there. Things went well until I drove away. I think there are new scratches on my rims but I can't prove that so I will give them the benefit of the doubt. I should have photographed all four wheels prior to the work. The biggest problem was that the tires were not inflated properly. I got warnings right away that three of the four tires had low pressure. To me this is a very basic requirement when replacing tires. All 4 should be inflated to the proper pressure. I feel like this is a very basic service that they neglected to do.

I brought my car to Glisson's for an oil change a few weeks ago. Yesterday, I was driving (long…read moredistance) and started smelling burning. I pulled into a gas station and found the oil was basically empty. I was surprised, as the oil change was so recent. I inspect further and find the oil filter has a major gash in the corner ... with oil stains around the gash. I add 2 quarts of oil and watch the filter. Sure enough, a drop of oil starts to form on the gash, eventually dripping. My question is: how could this have happened? The gash was way too big and obvious to not be noticed (on the edge where you grip w your hand). Did they knowingly install an obviously damaged oil filter? If so, why?? One theory (and this is only a guess, but I'm otherwise struggling to hypothesize a reason to give Glisson the benefit of the doubt here) -- I remember when I brought my car to them, I was under the weather, so as a courtesy to make sure I didn't spread whatever I had, I wore an N95 mask. The person at the shop looked at me weird like I was their political nemesis, so I explained that I was wearing it bc I was under the weather and didn't want to infect anyone else, but that didn't seem to change their disposition at all. Again, this is just a guess, but I truly cannot fathom why they would have installed a visibly obviously damaged oil filter on my car. (If someone can provide a valid hypothesis, I will delete this review.) Either way, my engine may have extensive damage due to driving without oil to the point it started burning. Arrggghhh.

I had read all of the five-star reviews of Manlius Motor Works and had a positive experience in my…read moreinitial service with them. Sarah is pleasant and knowledgeable. I was surprised when more recently I went in with a rattle in the exhaust of my 2016 BMW. I was told that it might be the actuator, but they couldn't guarantee that it could be replaced given the age of the car, possible rust, etc. I was given a worst case scenario of replacing the entire exhaust system at $2,500-3,000 (an 'at best' cost). I went to another service provider and in a 5 minute visual inspection they diagnosed a missing actuator clip that was allowing the baffle to vibrate, causing the rattle, a $6.99 part. The tech said this is a common source of the problem on older BMW's. Total cost of repairs $80.

Bought a 2018 Ford Escape with about 30K miles, with a 72 month Advantage Care Warranty…read more The first salesman dropped the ball somewhat i.e. didn't give me the parental key (only a secondary key that locks out some of the controls, didn't run my card properly for the down-payment) then went on vacation right after he sold me the car however the other salesperson took good care of me and got things situated. I did have to go to Romano Ford to get the key after the first 2 places they sent me couldn't do it, but TecForce covered the bill. The Warranty has a $100 deductible however they waive the deductible if you have the repair done there; but what they don't tell you is it can take 3 weeks to get an appointment, however if you can drop the car off they can probably get to it that day; About 6 months later the A/C stopped working on the hottest day of the summer; so I dropped the car off early in the morning, they diagnosed the issue in the afternoon (leaky compressor) and got the part / fixed it the next day. The repair would have cost over $1,100 but Advantage Care covered it. The repair manager seemed completely competent to me, there wasn't a question he couldn't answer and the repair went well. Will probably buy another car there.
