Walk back to my car at nearly 10:01am and drove away Get a call nearly 30 minutes later and was told that I WAS LATE to my appointment. I said you were closed and the guy insisted several times that he was there despite me telling him I have video footage proving that I was there and he wasn't. They charge me for the haircut anyway. I go down and show them the video, with clear timestamps, but he still insisted "my watch said 10am when I opened up"

She kept putting me on hold, asking someone for help, and when she returned, her responses were just nonsensical. Eventually, I was told I could come in in about an hour. Since I've been there before and found their prices outrageous, I asked about the cost of a high and tight. The woman on the line didn't even know what that was. After I explained that I wanted a high and tight because I'm in the military, she consulted someone and then returned to tell me it would be $42. I was absolutely shocked. I understand it's a small-town barbershop, but $42 for a high and tight feels like a total rip-off. I've been to Joe's a few times over the past decade and have never been satisfied, but today was definitely the last straw for me.

The barber was Jose and he handled it extremely well. Very impressive to say the least! I greatly appreciate how gentle and efficient her was, even though my child was really making it tough! He has 30yrs experience and it showed! I highly highly recommend, not only Js Stylez but Jose for sure!! Me and my 2 year old son got our hair cut here for the first time. The wait was not bad. The place is small but it's Hebron so it doesn't need to be expansive. The price was good. The cuts were good. One of my favorite books is called the e-myth revisited by Michael gerber. He writes about how small businesses need to be consistent in their approach and execution. He describes a time when he got his hair cut by a barber and everything was great the first time then the next time it wasn't quite as good. And eventually his experience turns poor. And he fails to go back. I didn't realize until now how much of an impact that book had on me. Today I got my 2nd cut and it was just as good as the first time. I can firmly say I'm done with the large chain chop shops and will only go here.

Obviously, I couldn't take her with me to CT and I was going to need to find another barber. I wasn't looking forward to the process of trying out a bunch of different barbers again - that experience was a nightmare (No man asks for a Dorothy Hamill cut damnit!). But ready or not I was going to have to put myself back out there. Today I found Havana Fran's by luck - I needed to go to the ACE next door - and they were able to squeeze me in close to closing time. The shop itself is a cute little space that the crew clearly care for. The service was absolutely wonderful and my barber was a great conversationalist who balances talking about dogs with quick questions about stylistic preferences. Overall atmosphere, haircut quality, and enjoyment is easily 10/10 and I have found my new barber!

She is very pleasant and friendly, and is gradually adding the unique decorations to the shop that reflect her personality. Her prices are very reasonable.
