Much later, when she started her travel…read morebusiness, I wanted to give her some business, and my girlfriend and I were looking for a sunny-and-warm escape from California/Texas winter. Alisa found us the perfect getaway! Our start wasn't as smooth as it could have been simply because GF and I didn't make our budget (money and time) clear. Alisa suggested a number of amazing adventures which exceeded our modest intent, some of which were truly drool-worthy, but beyond our current budget. Another set of challenges was that packages for two start from one city, my but GF and I live a 3.5-hour flight apart. Add in fussiness about airlines due to status on one (thus far better seats) and, combined with a modest budget, we were probably the clients from hell. Alisa persevered and came up with a delightful package to Nuevo Vallarta, México, that was perfect for us, with non-stop flights from San Francisco on my preferred carrier. The resort where we stayed was exactly what we wanted--safe and clean, but at a modest price. (I love The Four Seasons and have stayed at a few of their properties but we didn't want to spend for that level of luxury on this trip.) Although she wasn't directly involved in what we did once in the Puerto Vallarta area, she suggested some local companies which led to several incredible whale-and-sunset cruises. Without Alisa's help, we might not have found them. Bottom line: Alisa did a great job for us, and we are already talking with her about several future adventures.

The Newton location was a Journey and this is a Holiday, so it supposedly has more amenities. I chose this over the Omaha/Gretna because the water feature was bigger and it looked prettier. We actually passed that one on the way here and it was super busy! This one, on a Monday, was very empty. The gal working the office was super friendly. I did not have a reservation (one is needed if you arrive after-hours because you'll need a code to get into the gate; they'll leave a map for you in a box near the door). We wanted something away from other campers because we have a loud husky. She put us near a tree-line in the back of the park. It was nice because it started getting shady around 6 pm. The amenities aren't as good here as the last KOA: Kamp K9 is not shaded; fire rings are dotted in between sites instead of one for each slot, there's no visible trash cans (looks picturesque though). There's no trails like in Newton either. There are paddle-boats and a jump pad in the lake here which is super cool. Also, the lake is in the center of the park unlike ponds at other locations so we can see it from our site. Overall, I am very grateful to have access to showers, electricity and a place for my dogs to explore. I also appreciated how far apart the sites were spaced: the neighbor we had in the spot directly to our left was as close as the people two spots away in Newton. Pros: - close to the 80 but far enough away to not hear the noise - large spaces compared to Newton - super friendly - Cruise America discount! - laundry and showers - lake and camp site views - pool and hot tub - 6 people allowed per site (we did just water and electricity, 25ft RV) - huge play ground Cons: - dog park not shaded - showers are single stall but don't say "occupied" when in use - paddle boat rentals are too pricey

We had a family gathering here over a summer weekend…read more We rented the entire facility: Leavitt house, Country Cottage and Lake Lodge. There were plenty of rooms and almost everyone that wanted a king bed got one! The bed I slept in was very comfortable. The rooms were well equipped and everything was very clean. The breakfasts were amazing! French Toast bake, egg, sausage and tater tot casserole, real maple syrup, salsa; breakfast burrito bar (eggs, potatoes, cheese, salsa and tortillas); biscuits and gravy and French toast. Every morning they also had perfectly ripe fruit, a selection of juices and coffee. The portions were generous and everything was truly delicious. The farm is gorgeous. The corn was tall and the trees green, so every window had a beautiful view. The Lake Lodge is nestled in a little cedar forest that takes you 'far off into to the mountains' only a few miles outside of Lincoln. We had a gathering in the Barn for an anniversary party. While it is nestled over a horse stable, it was very clean and accommodated our group well. There is a nice area to set up a place to serve food, tables for dining and a stage to let kids dance around on (if you can keep them inside). We also made use of their small firepit to have an old-fashioned weenie and marshmallow roast. Everyone sat on the rocks by the fire or on the patio enjoying the scenery at least as much as the company. The hosts and owners, Bruce and Maureen, are very friendly and helpful. They rightfully have lots of pride for their property and the amazing amount of work they have done to move, rebuild and create the retreat they call home.
