I had another service provider out and he couldn't fix it. I needed a technician that knew how to really troubleshoot difficult problems. Well a tech named Steve S. was dispatched to my home the next day. He went thru several checks and finally found the culprit-the stepper motor. He took it apart, evaluated the internal problem and fixed it. Steve is my new Hero solving a difficult issue and Trupower Generator will be my new service provider. EMM

From the free estimate visit by Jim, I knew I am dealing with an expert and a true professional. Generator is an expensive upgrade to a home; hence it should be installed by the right people. I can now enjoy a peace of mind. Thank you Jim!

Showed me where the generator would be and what would need to modified. The generator was dropped off, but it was not put in the place where I was told it would be. I was promised pictures now going on two weeks of another client's house to show me how it would look where I wanted it. Still waiting for the pictures. Promised again two days ago but still not here. Seems like the kind of person who tells you what you want to hear when you want to hear it and does whatever once the conversation is over. Not worth the hassle. You're better off going to a different generator installation service. If anybody's in need of a Kohler generator at a good price, let me know. Update May 16, 2026 Some communication issues but Frank set things right. He had me look at a property with the generator orientated the direction I wanted, changed mine the same way and completed the project per the agreement in the contract. I received a thorough run through of how the generator works, service info and the warranty. After the initial delay, the project was completed in a very professional manner.

I kept trying to get something set up for several days, just kind of went around and around on text. Made myself available for a phone call that never came, 4 days later got another text if I was still interested. Reached out another couple days later and asked if he can do the job or if I should keep looking, he wanted my address which I gave, then never heard anything again. Really frustrating, especially since I've tried 10 companies from the Kohler site for generator repair/maintenance and could only get 1 to commit to coming out and they wanted an upfront payment to even look. I called on a Friday morning based on their Yelp reviews. Once I explained my situation, Tom assured me he'd pull some strings to get a tech out to my house. That they did! The tech came out and tried to fix the old dryer, but it was unfixable. So he proceeded to install the new one (I had two dryers sitting as a result of the fiasco). All in all, they got me squared away, and the pricing was very straightforward. Hopefully, I won't need service again anytime soon, but if I do, I will call Advantage FIRST!
