Maureen Dobranski at Centum Mortgages is "the" ultimate mortgage diva. I came to her in an…read moreabsolute pinch. Like many people in 2007, I bought a house, and couldn't sell the old one. As a result, my financing fell through since my down payment was in the walls of my house that didn't sell. Further, I am self employed. I literally called Maureen in tears. Not only did she get me financing, I got it at a competitive rate! My home was financed at 5.5% (which was a good rate in 2007). I owe her huge!

I am the wife of Barry B from the previous post. Barry is the defendant in a court ordered sale on…read moreour matrimonial home which I applied for, as Barry B would not agree to sell the home after our separation. Kevin was appointed by the courts to represent us as we had worked with Kevin to sell 2 homes for us in the past. During this process Barry was completely un-cooperative, did everything in his power to jeopardize the sale of the home including, damaging, not cleaning, not picking up after the dogs, trying to discredit Kevin in an attempt to slow down the process, and not allowing many of the requested showings. Kevin worked very hard for us despite Barry's behavior and I am very grateful that Kevin stuck with us and made this sale happen. Contrary to what Barry states in his review, there were a total of 9 offers on the property and 5 of those were over 98% of the list price. The court order stated that the list price was to be reduced by 4% after each 90 day period if the home did did not sell. The only one responsible for us loosing 1000's of dollars was Barry himself for refusing to actively negotiate most of the offers that came in. Barry has been living in the home for a year, he is behind on the mortgage and taxes even though I am keeping up half the costs, and even though the house is sold, he is saying he will not leave. Any accusations from Barry that Kevin Shapkin did not represent our family with complete honesty, integrity and professionalism are completely false. Thank you Kevin

I tried to get the prior owner to return it via Bryon to no avail. Also the central vac did not work and the dishwasher would not empty water. I also contacted them to try to resolve this and got no reasonable answer. I moved in one month after closing as I was out of town. I did not realize that would be considered a viable excuse not to address any of my concerns. I closed on Dec 15th and only moved in on Jan 15th as I was away for the holiday season. Byron has since contacted me and apologized for the issues that I faced. I did have several issues and the previous owners did not wish to make good on any of them, which is unfortunate for the selling agent. I had to purchase new equipment and repair the appliances at my own expense. Also a word of advice to anyone purchasing a home, make sure that you mark the Sonos in the inclusions as there is no recourse if you do not.
