I work at the Texan and have lived in a neighboring community my entire life. The Texan is the…read moreoldest and longest lasting bar in Rifle. At one time it had developed a reputation for fights and other nonsense. Today it is a very clean and comfortable place to be with many friendly regulars, and a great staff! Not trying to brag but I personally feel it is overall a great place to relax, play pool, shuffle board, fuseball and listen to pretty much any kind of music you want although many locals prefer country and southern rock, or old time rock and roll. To the modern screaming stuff and rap, however, all are welcome to a point. It is mostly an older crowd but we have great young people that frequent us as well. It is a place where rude and violent behavior are not tolerated. The bar tenders are friendly and capable. I hope to see many more people from all over the world visit us. You can have a drink and order food from any restaurant on third Street and have it delivered. Come visit us and see for yourself Leta Mcdaniel

I have mixed feelings about this place. My first visit was great and the 2nd (and last) wasn't. My…read morefriends and I were in town 2 weeks ago and were staying at the Hampton Inn. We all had been up since 3am, boarded a very early morning flight and then drove for 4 hours. We were all in desperate need of a drink, darts and a juke. Yelp pointed us to the Texan and off we went. Our first visit was on a Friday late afternoon and our bartender was Jill. She was super sweet and very attentive. We played some pool, cranked some Stones and had a few brews followed by some tequila shots. We stayed a few hours and all was good. Our second visit was on Sunday. Our intention was to do some shopping, but apparently the whole town is closed on Sunday. Me being from the big city wasn't aware of this! So instead of shopping, we hit the only place that was open - The Texan! It was around 2:30 or so and had an appt in neigboring Glenwood Springs so we couldn't stay too long. We started off with a few cold ones and some pool. We then decided a few shots couldn't hurt. I chose Crown, the bff chose tequila and the other bff had SoCo. We also decided Katy Perry wasn't our type of music and put $5 in the juke. On went Rush, Black Sabbath, Stones, Aerosmith, Danzig, Pantera, Slayer...you get my drift. Somewhere between Danzig and Rush some woman decided to put $10 in the juke, override my tunes and announce "Enough with the puppy killing music!!" WTF?! Do we look like satan worshippers?! What did she choose?? More Katy Perry, Pharrel and some other bubble gum music. This was obviously work by a local. We decided it was time for us to leave after that rude ass remark. We were dropping cash and were just starting to have a good time. I get it if not everyone likes our kind of music, but save the fucking remarks and don't be an asshole and override every single song. It's a bar for fucks sake. Star ratings: The bartenders were gems, it's clean and they have a good digital juke that had good 1cr songs and being open on a Sunday is a definite plus!

He took half of it to go. I loved the spring berry salad to which I added grilled shrimp. The shrimp were cooked perfectly. I tasted their summertime special beer which is brewed using strawberries- didn't care for it so I went with wine! Zach was our server. He was very nice.

Yummy food/drinks, but watch what you order…read more.. Came here for a family meal and was given several unexpected upcharges and practices that felt like being nickeled and dimed. First, the pricing transparency on modifications is frustrating. My son ordered the $12 mac and cheese (which includes a drink). Upon ordering the server offered broccoli or chicken as an option. He chose broccoli, assuming it was a standard side swap or inclusion. Instead, we were charged $1 for the broccoli and an extra $3 for the fruit. Second, drink pricing was a letdown. -For $14 the frosted coconut margarita was served in a short highball glass rather than premium glassware. -I was charged $17.57 for a double Malibu Pineapple, (they added an extra $1 charge just for the pineapple juice mixer). -To top it off, the drink took 12 minutes to arrive because our server was preoccupied with a recently seated large party. Finally, be aware that they add an automatic 3% "Kitchen and Brewer Appreciation" surcharge to the bill, on top of normal tax and tip. While the food was great, the unbundled charges for standard mixers, deceptive side options, and extra surcharges leave a bad taste. Food: Rueben was great. Husband wished for more sauce but I thought it was the perfect balance. Kiddo loved the broccoli and mac. Pro tip: Check your receipt (which we didn't get until *after* we cashed out). Server (who was great, by the way) came to our table in a break from his large table and announced our total so we didn't see the breakdown until the text receipt arrived.

I'm leaving yet another... 5 star review for The Pullman because every year I come dine at this…read morerestaurant I am blown away. First off, the most notable thing about this experience was the genuinely most amazing waitress I think I have ever encountered, Grace. Grace was the kindest soul, she took such amazing care of us and went ABOVE AND BEYOND. Me and my family will go out to eat now and say "she was good but not as good as Grace". Second off, The food was AMAZING per usual. I had the Wagyu steak and it was cooked perfectly, I usually hate going out for steak because I find it to never be seasoned as much as I'd like but this took the cake. The blue cheese dip with chips was so delicious, like possibly one of the best things we have ever tasted. We also tried to carrot cake sorbet which I know sounds odd but it was so delicious, you can tell the kitchen staff puts their heart and soul into this food. My husband got the special, which was like a Turkish ricotta stuffed pasta and it was AMAZING. Even my sister who got the wagyu burger, AMAZING. My only critique was the hostess was very rude to my family for no reason when we walked in which almost turned my parents off from trying to the most amazing restaurant. Luckily, the service got amazing after that. Everyone was so kind and helping everyone, just a great atmosphere. They also had the Knicks game playing which was great haha. I can't wait to come back next summer for my favorite meal despite living states away we will always make it back to The Pullman.

I started with the pickled deviled eggs - little vinegar taste with a slightly sweet filling is a perfect combination. 10/10 The Steak Tartare is unlike any tartare I've ever had before. It comes on this homemade tater-tot that's shaped kind of like a piece of bread or a cracker. I wasn't expecting it, but it made the dish. There is some sort of sauce drizzled, which tastes like an egg yolk base. I scraped it with my fork so I could eat all of it! So delicious! Finished with the Pierogies. Handmade, thin wrappers with perfect, delicious filling. It comes in a bowl with an amazing sauce I couldn't get enough of. I literally used a spoon to drink it! If you're in town, get a reservation - they are very busy!!! It's worth it!
