Our daughter just graduated from Kindergarten and as her first ever summer camp experience, Roar Taekwondo did not disappoint. The camp was recommended to us by another mom whose daughter attended for the first time last year and I met other parents in addition to her who all raved about the great experience their children had had in previous years and they were returning for more. I loved the thought out programming where the children were exposed to a variety of cultural activities in addition to martial arts while also enjoying themselves with lots of fun things to do such as trips to the park, the pool, the movies, skating, bowling, laser tag, and more. I would have loved a summer camp so engaging when I was her age and every day she came home she had a new story to tell of the fun she had. Master Surendra is so wonderful with all of the children in his program and he has done a great job of finding excellent support staff who seem to really share his passion for working with children. I am happy to have found Roar Taekwondo for our daughter and I have recommended it to friends and family. read more

I absolutely love Roar Taekwondo! My son originally started out in karate but decided he wanted to give taekwondo a try we attended our first class here, and he instantly fell in love with it. That was four years ago, and we've been a part of the Roar family ever since. This isn't just a martial arts school it's truly a community. Master Surendra is phenomenal. He genuinely cares about every single student who walks through his doors and leads with both excellence and heart. The structure, discipline, and values they instill go far beyond kicks and forms. They teach respect, perseverance, and confidence in a way that sticks with the kids in everyday life. The price is affordable, but honestly, who puts a price on wanting the best for your child? What Roar Taekwondo provides is priceless. If you're looking for a place where your child (or even you) can grow mentally, physically, and emotionally while being surrounded by a team that truly cares Roar Taekwondo is the place. I highly recommend it! read more

I can't say enough good things about the Roar Taekwondo! My child has been attending their classes and participating in their aftercare program and summer camp, and the experience has been exceptional. The instructors are not only skilled in karate but also incredibly patient, caring, and dedicated to helping kids grow both physically and mentally. The aftercare program provides a safe and nurturing environment for children after school, where they continue to learn valuable life skills and have fun. The summer camp is a highlight of our summer, filled with engaging activities, field trips, and of course, karate training that keeps the kids active and excited to learn. I am so grateful for the positive impact Roar Taekwondo has had on my child's confidence, discipline, and overall well-being. I highly recommend this place to any parent looking for a supportive and enriching environment for their kids. Thank you to the amazing staff for all that you do! read more

My past working two or three jobs had taken a toll on my mental health and physical fitness over last ten years. Since March I have attended class once a week with my boys. They are growing to be more discipline and caring towards each other and to others. They are helping me more at home and there has been less arguing at home. I am gaining better understanding of who they are as they approach teen age years. Their physical fitness is better as well. I am very grateful for all the Instructors there who are patient and caring to all the students. They go out of their way after class to go over any questions. Discipline is extremely important here. Be open to positive criticism and you will see BIG changes in yourself. read more

While traveling, I was looking for a Taekwondo school for both myself and my kids. We tried several dojos, but out of all of them, Roar Taekwondo truly stood out. The instructors were knowledgeable, patient, and welcoming, creating a positive environment for students of all ages. My kids enjoyed every class, and I was equally impressed with the quality of instruction and the focus on discipline, respect, and confidence. If you're looking for a great place for both adults and children to learn Taekwondo, I highly recommend Roar Taekwondo. read more

Roar has been great for my daughter. She is going into her 3rd year here and in 5th grade. I don't have to force her to go, she begs me to go. She loves doing the tournaments, being in the parades and doing all their activities. Its given her somewhere to get her emotions out and learn to control them. She wants to do good so bad for the instructors she has had me buy equipment so she can practice at home after doing multiple afterschool classes a day. highly recommend. read more

My daughter loves the Little Lions program! Roar Taekwondo has the best instructors and they're so patience with the children of all ages. The first free intro class was perfect for my daughter, it allowed her to get a hands on experience of what taekwondo was before committing to the classes. We've been coming to Roar for about six months now and her confidence has skyrocketed, as well as her focus and sense of responsibility. I cannot recommend them enough. read more

We used to go to the ROAR location in Indian Trail and recently switched to the Matthews location. We have had a great experience at both, but we really love the new Matthews location. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and truly cares about the kids. My child enjoys coming every time, and the environment is clean, fun, and positive. We're so happy we made the switch and would definitely recommend ROAR Matthews to other families! read more

My child attended the summer camp and is participating in afterschool now. She loves sharing what she's learning and always talks positively about her instructors and staff. There seems to be a healthy balance of encouragement and constructive criticism that helps motivate my child to do her best.
