This is a review I never wanted to have a reason to write. My 18 year old cat ninja had started slowing down, wasn't himself, didn't jump anymore, and was having issues getting to his litter box. When he stopped eating his favorite thing in the world (canned tuna) and was barely drinking i knew it was time. I started looking into my options and I found road to home. It's a little bit more expensive than euthanasia at your vets office, but id say it was worth every single penny. It didn't help that ninja hated car rides and I didn't want that trauma to be one of his final memories. The pair at road to home came out and did every part of the process they could with him in my lap. Once the sedative kicked in they gave him a leg catheter and from there on i wasnt able to hold him, but i was able to lay with him. The level of care and compassion they showed me in one of the most difficult times of my life was second to none, and getting to be by ninjas side all the way to the end was definitely part of the closure I needed, and I'm sure that ninja appreciated being able to have his last memories be being held and loved by his dad. They also offer transportation to Nebraska Humane Society's rainbow bridge services if you choose to have them cremated. Theres still a hole in my heart, but being able to let ninja go with dignity, in the place he loved most, definitely made it a little smaller. I have another 12 year old cat and my service dog hits 10 this year. When their time comes, (knock on wood it's a long time away) I will absolutely call upon Adam and Heath again. I cannot recommend road to home enough. read more

the staff, both doctor and heath his assistant were really great. no one wants to have to euthanize their best friend but they seemed competent, compassionate and best of all they come to you so especially for a cat who feels calmer at home. my friend was able to breathe his last breath surrounded by family who loved him for years in his own bed at home. we should all be so fortunate. a good service for an awful event read more

No one wants to make the decision to part with their pet, but when they are old and struggling with no quality of life, we have to make this decision to do what's right , its never easy, but it can be the kindest thing to do. Heath and Dr. Carter were so kind and compassionate. I cannot express in words what they did for me. I was really conflicted with the decision to put my 14-year-old boxer to sleep. Heath was very patient, kind, and helpful when speaking to him on the phone about it. I could barely get my words out because I couldn't stop crying and he gave me all the time I needed. Both my husband and my son were out of town and I had to make this decision on my own. When the time came, they stood back and let me have the time I needed with my Dakota. She went comfortably without any stress, discomfort , or anxiety. What Heath and Dr Carter provide is more than a service. I highly recommend this service for at home pet euthanasia. As others have mentioned, they explained things in detail over the phone, then again when they arrived and were going through the procedures. My poor almost 80 pound dog was collapsed in the backyard and couldn't get up, and we were unable to move him. They performed the procedures right there in the yard. We were able to pet him and be with him through the process. Jax went to sleep peacefully at home in the cool shade, and wasn't scared or nervous the way he would have been at the vet office. Our dog was declining quickly after a long and healthy life. After bringing our family almost 14 years of love and joy, we decided to use Road to Home rather than take our dog to the vet. We felt it would be far more compassionate doing it at home surrounded by family than putting the dog through the stress of being loaded into the vehicle and going to the vet. They were compassionate and caring and made the saddest day any pet owner can experience a little easier knowing we were doing the very best we can for our beloved pet. Our dog isn't touchy-feely and hates to be picked up so they graciously got on the ground with him. It must be an emotionally difficult job they do, but they are truly a blessing to those they help. These guys are A++++. We rather suddenly realized it was our beautiful frenchie Milile's time to go. Millie LOVED car rides but somehow always knew when we were going to the vet and would shake and whine in the car on the way there. We were torn up about the last memory she'd have would be us driving her and dragging her into the vet. My friend told me about Road to Home and we knew it was the way to go. These guys are so compassionate, professional and patient. Millie had no idea anybody was even in the house and definitely was not scared. We were able to sit with her after they administered a spinal block for as long as we wanted. They explained everything very well. After she passed we were able to stay with her while they stepped out of the room and gave us time to say goodbye to her. They then transported her to the humane society to be cremated. They made what is for sure the hardest day of my life better than I could have ever imagined. Please please please do not use anybody else for your beloved family member. They were only slightly more expensive than the service that our vet provided and it was worth every penny and more. These guys really know what they're doing and are so professional doing what I have to imagine is the hardest job on the planet for a pet lover. read more

I've lost 3 cats in two years. Jinx and Rajah went to their Vet to have them put to sleep. With Roux I decided to have Road to Home come out to my house. It was a very peaceful farewell for both of us. I was able to hold him, and he was comfortable and purring until the end. I absolutely recommend them. They were very kind, and professional. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS PLACE! My dog was treated horribly, he cried and yelped until he just went limp in my arms. They said the shot would be like a normal vaccine. (they lied) After the euthanization was complete I thought they would wrap him in a blanket they had brought it, nope they put him in a plastic bag right in front of me. That put me over the edge. It was not necessary to do that in front of me. I was already traumatized by the way he reacted to the injection they gave him. If you want your pet to go in peace DO NOT call these guys. read more

I wanted to write this review while I am still grieving the loss of my beloved pug. Road to Home is absolutely wonderful. I have never had to make a decision to let a pet go, this was the first time, and I can say by having the option of it being in home, I cannot imagine saying goodbye to your pet any other way. They were absolutely wonderful and kind and soft spoken and let us grieve and walked us through everything. I would give everything just to have 5 more minutes with my Rocky, but I am so glad we were able to let him go surrounded by only his family, with someone as caring and as professional as Road to Home. read more
