Despite normal blood work, trying new foods, and giving her an appetite stimulant, nothing was working. Dr. Kluver was so kind and gentle with Lucy. The ultrasound determined that Lucy has tumors in her liver and other intestinal cancers-- she won't live much longer. We've decided to say goodbye to Lucy this upcoming weekend. I'm so grateful for Dr. Kluver for being so kind and compassionate. I tried my best to hold back tears, but I couldn't and she was so understanding and provided me with the kindest words. When someone can give you an inch of compassion on your worst day, you know they're a good person. I highly recommend this place. As I checked out, I felt I was a bit stand-offish to the receptionist and I hope she didn't think I was rude. If you read this, I apologize- I was digesting the horrible news and was in a bit of shock.

When it was my dog's turn he made him bleed and yelp loud. He bled quite a bit I've never seen my dog bleed that much. Not gentle whatsoever just shoving the needle in with no thought. This was so heartbreaking but I didn't have the nerve to say anything. I almost cried. I wasn't even going to mention the disgusting floors and tables all dirty and gross. I will NEVER be back and I will NEVER recommend this place again. If your dog is already scared of the vet ... this is the nail in the coffin to not even get them in next time.

But at Gentle Doctor, they were willing and professional when I asked them to take over the care of my Howie. Previously, he had been seen elsewhere with additional, specialized care from the only animal eye service in town. I've written elsewhere about that eye clinic and the experience there was ugly. But Gentle Doctor Animal Hospital was willing to take over Howie's care--and his care was more thorough with far more kindness and concern than any other clinic. When I had to put Howie to sleep, the staff at Gentle Doctor, from the receptionists to the techs to the veterinarian were INCREDIBLY kind to us. It's been terrible to lose Howie. He was my best friend. But everyone at Gentle Doctor helped us in the kindest, most patient ways. I will forever be grateful to Gentle Doctor Animal Hospital on West Maple in Omaha.
