I have had to call Roach Plumbing three times in the 20 years we've owned our house. The first time was for a leak under a bathroom sink that was filling the cabinet with water, they came and identified it as a very small part that was replaced in 5 minutes and barely charged me anything at all. The second time, the pull to turn the shower on stopped working. They came out quickly and while this turned in to a bigger repair that required cutting a hole in the wall of the room next to the bathroom, they explained what needed to be done and why before proceeding with the work. This most recent time we had a clog between the house and septic and they came, identified the issue, put a new cleanout in the basement and snaked the system out twice to ensure the problem was fixed. I have always been very pleased with their service and responsiveness and appreciate having a plumber I can trust. Would recommend them to anyone! read more

We are new to Connecticut, had just closed on our home less than a month. We had no power for 40 hrs coming into the Christmas weekend. Our generator had a difficult time keeping the entire home heated. Our pipes froze over the garage into our addition. We noticed that our garage ceiling was leaking and buckling at 1100pm at night. I called 13 plumbers in the area. I left multiple messages with several of them and no one called us back. Cameron from Roach plumbing was the only plumbing provider that called us at 0730 and told us he could be to our house by the afternoon. He was our blessing. We had four busted pipes from our mud room to our garage. He worked tirelessly for over 8 hrs to get the pipes fixed and water back on. The plumber who did the job was young and probably too inexperienced to get things done in a reasonable amount of time. He replaced two faucets, with 4 valves and two drain pipes in our bathroom. Everything that needed repair was just in the one bathroom. The cost of parts was $300. Our bill for labor was almost $800. We won't be calling Roach's again. read more

Called for an emergency repair on Saturday and the issue was fixed within a few hours at a fraction of what I expected to pay.

My story. Was getting a home energy audit done which revealed multiple leaks in my main natural gas line going to my furnace and hot water tank. CNG was alerted per requirement by law and they quickly found more leaks and shut off my gas entirely stating that I needed to get the pipe repaired before they would come back and turn it back on. It's December and now I had no heat or hot water or ability to cook and multiple companies I called wouldn't even come out because of labor issues and being backlogged. I got one company to come out and gave me an INSANE estimate literally just for Labor, and to reuse the pipe and fittings but just reseal all the threads. The quote they gave me for all brand new parts was $2000 higher then the first astronomical quote was. ( Just for reference Roach plumbing used all new materials and the cost for those came out to $220.) Knowing that they had me by the balls this company was in line to get the work and I was ready to cash my 401k to pay for this fairly straight forward repair. The repair was scheduled for 2 days from the time the gas was shut off, and that night, when I was going through my head how the estimate this company gave (I won't mention any nAmes, but I'm sure people have seen their trucks around) could be so high and how screwed I was getting, when Sean finally got my message and video of the work that needed to be performed and quickly responded letting me know they could get the work done for a fraction of the cost and just as quickly as the other company had promised to get it done. A day later Mike showed up (super awesome guy to chat with) and got to work. About 6 hours later the work was completed and Mike handed me the invoice and it was literally 1/4 of what I was quoted by the other company. Thank you Mike and Sean for being a decent company and not trying to take advantage of people who are in a tough situation with very limited options. Would 100% recommend, and will be using them 100 of the time for any other jobs that come up in the future. ShAme on the other company for that quote. read more

Hired to put in an new heating system and to relocate a spigot faucet. Damaged exterior of our house and had to hire someone else to fix it. Town building inspector refused to sign off on their work twice. Third time had to hire someone else (yet again) to finish the job correctly. Pathetic, incompetent plumber. read more

I'm not sure what happened with R.B., but I can tell you I have never had better customer service from any company that I've dealt with. My story: I had no water coming into the house. I called a plumber I have used in the past and explained what I had done to get back water, ie, open cabinets, heaters, etc, and having little success. He thought it was a well issue and recommended Roach Plumbing. It was right before the New Years eve holiday weekend and when I called and explained the water situation to Sean Roach he said he could send someone out on Saturday but I hesitated, talked about cost, and he understood my concerns about financing a weekend/holiday rated job. So he told me to take pictures of the water tank and hose coming into the house and send them to him for review. That his advice over the phone wouldn't cost me anything and he'd have a better understanding of what I could do and placement of heaters until the 1st business day after the holiday when he would send someone out. In the meantime he texted me daily (even on New Years Day!) to check in on my water progress, if any. Now, I'm pretty handy but I was feeling a bit overwhelmed by the situation, but hearing from Sean let me know that I wasn't alone in my hardship. Once his team came out, they blew out the pipes but found that what was frozen was actually part of the underground pipe from my well pump to the house! Highly unusual, but we've had some bitter cold negative temperatures. He said that fixes could cost major dollars, but that if I could wait a little longer without water he had a suggestion. So, right before a snowstorm and further frigid temperatures, I went out and bought enough tarps to cover my underground pipe, from my well pump to the house, then laid down hay over the tarps, and with the new snow, Sean said that this would all act like an insulator and that my below ground pipe should be unfrozen within 5 - 7 days. I am happy to report that today is day 5 and my water has returned! I can't thank him and his team enough. They were working outside in single digit temperatures trying to get my water back. Many houses around were freezing up. I am grateful that he responded as quickly and that he never quit. I know I wrote a long review and included my story, but if you read this far, I hope that Sean's suggestions might help you as well. I also wanted to be sure to explain how far Sean will go for his customers. If I could give 6 stars, I would. Please call Roach Plumbing if you are looking for a compassionate and experienced company. I read the negative review and it doesn't sound like the company I dealt with. I can even be a bit of a cynic but, I am sincere when I say, ask for Sean Roach. He's the best. read more

This has been bothering me for years. Usually, if I get screwed, I take it as a lesson and move on. I had a concern about an outside faucet and decided to get an estimate. I called Roach since they drive by our house daily, and I like to support local business. The Roach employee arrived, looked at the faucet, did something minor and said there was no problem. In less than the time it would take to write an estimate and set up a time, I was reassured (literally around one minute). The employee called in and was told to charge me close to $100.00. No free estimate that I could reject, just a "let me gouge a neighbor." The employee was clearly embarrassed and re-explained what he did to whoever he reports to, to no avail. Todd came out today to fix a cracked pipe and ended up quite possibly saving our house. He figured out our leak was coming from a main sewer line clog and was incredibly helpful in contacting our town and guiding us through our problem. He also fixed our pipe and was friendly and very polite throughout. I would use Roach plumbing again in a heartbeat for any plumbing needs. read more

Just hired them to fix my furnace and they were there the next day! However, I should have asked how much they charged for labor. At $140/ hour the bill was ridiculous. We paid $700 for just labor!!! read more
