1.The slides were not lubed , brake pads were just put in, and they were tight as heck. Because of that, the brake pads would wear faster so they had to be taken apart, and hammer used to get the pads out of the housing. 2.Emergency brake shoes in the rear not put back on 3. New, never before heard, noise; coming from under the truck. 4. Can not be trusted and have pics to prove this. I am a struggling nursing student, home care taker. I depend on my vehicle to get to my clients. If you don't have time to help costumers, don't be greedy just say no. read more

No one likes to see their check engine light come on, especially when you only have the one vehicle. In the past, I have taken my car to the dealership (over 100 miles away). No more! Our friends recommended Anthony at RMV. I called and he said to bring my car in and he would run a diagnostic. We took it in the next day and a mechanic plugged in the machine, got the results, and we went inside to talk to Anthony. The problem was a valve had gone bad in the emissions system. He took my car into the back and found the exact problem. He told me it was okay to drive until my appointment to fix it, four days away. I asked if I needed to rent a car, but he said if I didn't mind waiting, it would only take about an hour. This service was no charge. We pulled up at our appointment time and walked in. Side note: an elderly gentleman asked if I was getting my car fixed here and when I replied yes, he told me that I had made a great decision because RMV was the best. And yes, they are! We settled in on their comfy couch as our car was immediately brought to the back. The shop is very well laid out, clean and comfortable. My only minuscule complaint is I wish they had a coffee pot brewing for waiting customers. Within the hour, my car was completely repaired. We had received an estimate when we first brought it in, which I found fair and affordable. Just a little hiccup...they charge a fee if you use credit or debit cards. Luckily, we had the cash. This was undoubtedly the best experience I have ever had in a repair shop. There was no stress, Anthony and the mechanics were polite and know their stuff. They did NOT talk down to me because I am a woman. Wish I could have given them 100 stars. Highly recommend. Thank you, Anthony and RMV. Hopefully, we won't have any more car problems, but if we do, we will only allow you and your shop to take care of us. We can't thank you enough! read more

We had great work done when Steve Voss ran the business prior to his retirement in July 2023. We'd had breaks done and our transmission rebuilt. However it's worrisome that these negative reviews were posted just after his leave. I've got a 22 year old truck to be inspected and any work done and now I'm worried to take it in to RMV as they aren't holding up to Steve's standards of excellence. read more

8-23-2023 Against the advice of a friend, I took a smog-era carburetor in for a bench rebuild a week ago. I supplied a new unopened kit for it. They called me earlier than expected and said my carburetor was done. We could tell the carburetor had never been cleaned. The kit was opened and a good portion of the parts were gone. Upon a partial tear down we could tell very little of the carburetor had even been opened. The only new parts we could identify were the jets. I promptly called RMV and was promised a refund on the labor (about $182), but they couldn't rebuild the carburetor. I drove out to RMV and placed the carburetor and opened rebuild kit on their counter to show them the situation. The man promptly shoved cash in my hand to refund the labor, which was OK, considering. But, when I asked about refunding the $185 rebuild kit, he said I was accusing them of stealing it! At no point did I say anything near that. I said they lost the parts and explained that to him. He said no, the parts are in the carburetor! As explained above, they are most definitely not! So to recap, RMV cost me a week plus $365+ and I still need to rebuild my carburetor! Unfortunately there is no negative star rating as that would be more appropriate. read more
