I recently moved to the area and needed a single 220 outlet installed in my garage. The work…read morebasically involved: adding a breaker, running wire from one side of the garage to the other, and adding a plug (power receptacle). It was clearly a one-man job and should not have taken much more than an hour for one guy to complete. However, on the morning they showed up, instead of sending just a single electrician over, they sent two. I thought it was weird, but just went with it. It appeared that one of the electricians didn't even stay for the duration of the job. Finally, when the job was done, I asked how much it would be, and they just said, "we will send you the bill." And they certainly did, charging me $375 in total, including billing me for the guy who didn't seem to stay the entire time. That's right, $375 for one 220 outlet, 40 feet of wire, and a breaker. The quality of the work itself was OK, which is why I gave them two stars. At least they didn't damage anything. :) Now, I am not suggesting that they are intentionally ripping people off, but I was expecting the job to cost about half of what they charged me based on their hourly rate and the cost of supplies. If you are like me and appreciate paying a fair price for value, then I would suggest you find someone else to do your electrical work.

When we bought our house, we noticed their sticker was already on our electric box, so naturally, we called them to come out and fix the problems we were having. They confirmed they did indeed install our electric in the home. The entire house had issues--lights flickering in different rooms, power cutting out if too much was running at the same time, and overall shortages throughout the home. When their techs came out, they didn't know how to fix any of the issues. They wasted our time, left us with no solutions, and then still sent us a bill for almost $300. A year later, we received a collection notice for that bill--even though they never actually fixed anything in our home. On top of that, the customer service was rude and unhelpful. Instead of trying to resolve the problem, they were dismissive and disrespectful. For a company whose name was already on the box when we moved in, this was beyond frustrating and unprofessional Bottom line: They charged us for nothing, gave us zero solutions, and treated us poorly in the process. I would not recommend AEY Electric to anyone.

In addition to this replacement work, he serviced both systems and repaired some damaged crawl-space ductwork. Timeliness of response, quality of work, and total professionalism was far above others. As an example of above-and-beyond, he even painted a semi-rusty outside fuel gas line (which had been seen many times by others) to reduce the likelihood of additional corrosion. Service was done early in the C-19 quarantine period and my wife was very concerned about having outsiders near our kids. Walter called about 20 minutes before the appointment to "prepare" us for his arrival. When he did arrive, and without asking, he had anticipated our uncertainty and was fully masked and gloved - made us feel very safe in these unusual times. While Walter's business is new, he has been in the industry for a long time and his experience shows. Unlike others who seem determined to absolutely price gouge urgent-need consumers like me, Walter is focused on safe, very high quality, work at very fair pricing.
